I live a few miles from here. Ironically this mall was on the verge of going under back when other malls were still doing OK, around 2010. The owners increased security, (panhandlers were a problem) and reduced their rental fees. It worked.
I was a mall rat here with my friends in the 70's. Saw all the new movies there at Saturday matinee prices. Brought home fish for my aquarium and had Orange Julius when I could afford it. Still feels like home even though I live thousands of miles away now.
Beautiful well done mall. I'm from NE Ohio and this reminds me of what could have been done with our Chapel Hill Mall in Akron. Ohio, now closed. A little (OK, a LOT) of TLC, and better foresight and planning by the owner might have spared Chapel Hill from extinction. I'm s little sad to think CH could have been its own version of this. Great video, great mall!
@@slackingpacking Agree. What you state is at least part of the problem. In their heyday, the region's malls had enough traffic to support all 3, but of course we all know what happened once malls started to become less popular. I'm from the area and to me, CH was always the mall you shopped at on the regular for stuff you needed, while Summit Mall was far enough away to warrant only a special trip every now & then. Ditto Rolling Acres - too far away to see me going there more than a couple times a year.
@@slackingpacking I was being goofy. My friend and I sit in the massage chairs near kids foot locker. Put in a 5 dollar bill and get a 15 minute massage. Peace ✌️

I think Chapel Hill mall failed because the Cleveland metro area has way too many Malls to support. Especially Akron, they had 3 malls at one time.
