Man...I'm less than 10 minutes into this interview and can tell it is going to be the most underrated and epic Vladtv interview of all time. That "funk you right on up" tea is CRAZY....she really had a hand in laying the blueprint for so many hip hop/rap songs for today. My heart hurts for what it means to be a trailblazer, because this is what it looks like. Starting the wave that everyone eventually rides to success, while never mentioning that it was because of YOU that they were able to ride. Mad props to Auntie Angie!! ❤💔
Angie Stone : unsung hero of hip hop, neo soul and R&B. She’s the real deal! Love this strong talented spectacular kind humble magnificent soul! 💜🙌🏽🕊 keep shining your light !
Angie deserves all her flowers. She is an icon. I thank you so much queen. All the beautiful soul music you made. You been through so much and you defeated all the pain and bring it all at peace and happiness. I salute you queen. You so beautiful and so strong. God Bless You And Let's Salute This Queen And Give Her Flowers. She Well Deserve. A True Legend! 🙌🏿🎤🌹❤️
I love that she gave props to Andrea Martin 💐 RIP to a real one. Angie is a true Sagittarius ♐️ 💜 so bold & beautifully opinionated. This interview is golden✨✊🏾
I have always been an Angie Stone fan and she is so underrated R&B Neo-Soul Singer because has always been the bomb and superstar but what I love about her is that she knows her value and her worth no matter what Clive or all the other naysayers would say!! Great interview and continue soaring Angie.. Blessings to her
Love this woman. I did not know a lot of stuff she did not get credit for. Igot mad respect for her. She really understands The biz and how to navigate it. She deserves grammy's and more. I love her spirituality. She's gracious..
Angie Stone can saaaang and has such a rich music history-Seems You’re Much Too Busy is one of my favorite songs by Vertical Hold. It’s so disturbing that “The Sequence” has not received the recognition deserved as the first female rappers/hip hop artists and their contributions to Hip Hop. Especially as it relates to age; ole-head male hip hop artists/rappers are ALWAYS recognized and celebrated!
I was very upset that Sequence was not included in the Unsung episode w/ Women in HipHop! They laid the blue print! We will always love ya in the Metro, Angie! I’m glad she was able to tell her truth!
never knew Ms. Stone was a founder of hip hop, I listen to her music everyday!!! Her soulful voice is my motivation going to work!! I love you Ms. Stone!!!
Talk yo' ish Legend!! I love Angie Stone. She is one of the few real singer-songwriters and creatives that we have left. She makes REAL music. Her albums are always solid, high-quality, enjoyable bodies of work. She needs all of her flowers now!
I don’t know why VLAD chops up their interviews like that on first release.. then releases the entire interview after the fact. Maybe to build anticipation? But it’s a little annoying 😅
I think he'll find his footing after he pays his dues. He's definitely conflicted being in his parent's shadow. I wish him the best, especially as a bigger Black man.
I knew Ms. Betty was like that. You could tell the kind of person she was from the lyrics of her songs. She was such a national treasure. Many women at the time were jealous of her relationship with D'Angelo. They couldn't picture those two together. I rooted for them though, especially her. Beauty in the eye of the beholder and doesn't only have to be physical, its also a spiritual connection. I'm so glad he done this interview with her. She DESERVES to be held up with the utmost respect for being the QUEEN SHE IS !!!
I love Angie music, I hate when people don't know their music or care to know their hip hop history. I'm 40 and I knew Angie was apart of Sequence and worked with Sugar Hill Gang. Angie was definitely being real in this interview and telling it like it is with this industry.
I LOVE ANGIE STONE!!! Angie Stone we love & cherish ur contributions to all genres including hip hop, soul, R&B, neo-soul, etc. A literal pioneer and legend gave us some game and history 💐!
Thank you for this interview. Chalked full of music education. Angie stoney has one of my favorite covers of all Time. She Sang a rendition of "Simply Redd's ""Holding Back The Years" salute

Omg I loved Funk You Up! It was something new to my ears. I didn't know it was Angie Stone, but she's why it was everything. I wish she could go and get her money.

Wow excellent interview… really enjoyed the piece where her son came on. I like that part about naming his project of D&A. Liked his snippet free style. Nice he’s going on tour with his mom
Good interview but when I heard when Swayvo Bang said he didn't want ppl to know who his parents are I understood that, bc when you have famous parents it puts pressure on you and have big shoes to fill bc ppl expect you to be as great as them and are going to expect you to be as great as them. You can take advice from your parents bc they will give you sound advice but in this situation, it is best t to create your own lane.
Angie I have ALWAYS loved you & DeAngelo & both of your afrocentric presence. I've always asked, "when are they going to come out with something again". I'm sorry to hear about his pride, but imma pray that God will help him see himself & the blessing he's missing. Prayer changes things & I pray that God changes his heart. I LOVE YOU ANGIE❣️
I was 10 years old when Sequence first song came out. I've also wondered why people don't mention them. She made it known. Because they're from the south. That's messed up.
Angie is giving that history lesson on hip before it was even called hip hop! I respect what she said about the upcoming artist backed in the early 90s. It's so true. My father had over 500 records.I still own a 100 of them. And she is absolutely correct even I was at a younger age like 12 and I was like some of these songs sound like the old school but you know, in the young artist defense, some of probably didn't even do the research or searching for the history of where they be even came from. Much love
Angie still love De Angelo . You can hear and feel the disappointment in her voice during this interview. But she is still a strong black sister. Love you Angie❤❤❤
You know Angie that’s what theses kids today, don’t want to do, “the work”! They want er’thang handed to them! Angie & I come up in the same era, the ‘70’s! The era of Respect!
Really strong woman I love you for who you are don’t worry things happened for good reasons you don’t know what There’s no rain in this Cloud was a lesson your father was teaching you a strengthening aid in your challenging life miss Angie ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
The industry definitely turned on her. If she would’ve been light skinned & skinny things would’ve been a lot different unfortunately. Shame on all of them! We love you Angie ❤
Queen Angie thank you for this blessing. Please get your son an artist developer because he needs to learn how to be interviewed he too nervous but hes so talented he just needs to learn how to show his personality he could be huge
Yes , My Brother music 🎶 especially at that time is the same line as "What's going on " and SomeWhere Over The Rainbow 🌈 " by Pattie Labelle , Angie with top hits .

I didn't appreciate this lady's music until I got grown. She's certified platinum in my book, but also an underrated talent & even great person.
I was first introduced to her when she was in Vertical Hold. She kept reinventing herself, a legend ❤
Blue Skies is my jam 🙌🏾🙌🏾👑
I love that she gave props to Andrea Martin 💐 RIP to a real one. Angie is a true Sagittarius ♐️ 💜 so bold & beautifully opinionated. This interview is golden✨✊🏾

AMEN!
She’s soo gracious when it comes to D’Angelo, she’s reframing from saying he’s a bum dad! & person in general!
I was very upset that Sequence was not included in the Unsung episode w/ Women in HipHop! They laid the blue print! We will always love ya in the Metro, Angie! I’m glad she was able to tell her truth!
Angie is an inspiration to black women like me; she is the epitome of greatness that impacted some of the positive moments in my life.

Angie's interview portion is great . . .
Absolutely… the sons ego was too much for me
I think he'll find his footing after he pays his dues. He's definitely conflicted being in his parent's shadow. I wish him the best, especially as a bigger Black man.
