Realistically, the black widow movie has the potential to become THE BEST in mcu history. Her story is so tragic and it would make for a hell of a psychological thriller, with so much depth and strength. It would be something completely different from anything mcu has ever done before, but it wouldn’t be their first time experimenting with the movies and her story can support this. That way the fans will have their service and the respect paid to the character of Natasha which we all want, but also the movie could stand on its own and be brilliant outside of the mcu realm. Gosh I hope they do it justice, Natasha surely deserved it
Fans have been asking for this movie for YEARS and it’s because we love her as a character so much! I can’t wait to see how they write her character in almost certainly, her last outing before we say our final goodbyes to the character

Dennis Slungard It’s literally been confirmed for years that they’re making a movie. It takes ages to plan these things out; right now they have a director hired and a script. Scarlett is confirmed to play the lead part and that’s all they’ve told us. It’s supposed to start filming later this year or early next year.
Mina the movie has already been confirmed it’s set to release May next year.

Reasons why Natasha Romanoff deserved a better ending.
Natasha Romanoff was one of the, if not, the best character of the MCU. The way marvel ended her character arc was dishonorable. Nat was there since Iron Man 2. She helped Tony through everything. Then she moved on to Steve, and helped Steve with everything. Then Clint. Then Bruce. She doesn’t have a single bad bone in her body. It was obvious she loved Clint, but she accepted the fact that he was married and had kids. Natasha gave everything for the people she loved. She was everything. She IS everything. That fighting scene with her and Happy in Iron Man 2? Definition of badass. She sacrificed everything. She didn’t have a family. No kids. No love. In those 11 years, Marvel did her REAL dirty. Without her, they would have never defeated Thanos. And that powerful woman scene during the Battle of Earth in Endgame? Incomplete without my Natasha. When she was all alone during those 5 years when the Avengers had broken up, she was miserable. And when they got back together to save the world, you could see the joy on her face, smiling next to Clint. She was so excited to do what she loved doing. Saving the world, at whatever cost. She deserved everything, yet she never got it. Her death was heroic, yet it was also a tragedy. And that is why Natasha Romanoff will always be a fucking legacy.

For me, she has the most painful death scene. It was truly unexpected, the moment she sacrificed her life. Ahhhh, i was crying while watching her scene huhuhu
What really hurts is the fact that when she confessed to being happy about having a family, Cap said that he thought it was time that they both get a life. She told him to get one first. And he did. Because she died before she could do that.

Natasha dies: Nothing but Hawkeye feeling crap and Thor ranting on about how they can “get her back”

this concept is called ‘fridging’, when a female character has something horrible happen to her to further a male characters ark. for nat, it was so clint could get redemption, or was also so tony could get all the credit for saving the world and the rest of her male counterparts could cry.
marvel has always treated her as lesser than the other avengers, the actors too. a few years ago, jeremy renner and chris evans called black widow a whore during an interview. when renner ‘apologized’, he followed with something like,” when you bang four out of six avengers, you are a whore”. this is a direct comment to how she has often been written as nothing more than a love interest to her male teammates.
when asked about her lack of a funeral, the Russo brothers chalked it up to her not being a social person. they and the writers decided that that was the end of her story, the character had gone as far as they could take it, calling her a hard character to write. but there shouldn’t be a hard character to write when you’ve been writing her for almost ten years, unless you’ve never actually taken the time to figure out that character.
as much as i would like to say Nat had character growth, she really didn’t. she was willing to die in the Avengers, and she was willing to die here, and she had said that clint had a family to get back to, and that’s why his life was worth more than hers. she had said in Age of Ultron that the Red Room had sterilized her, which is more than hinting that since she could never have a biological family, her life somehow meant less.
they’ve never treated her to the standard that she should have been, but at least with ScarJo as one of the main producers of the Black Widow prequel, she might get the same love and attention from the writers as her male piers.
And addition, Thor is indenial about her death.

@@bellasaunders3978 The Russo Brothers do take their time to get to know each character. Why do you think she wants to do what she has to? Why she died instead of Hawkeye? Her character is explained by only one quote from her. "I got red on my ledger and I want to wipe it out". What the quote meant was she wants to redeem herself for the actions she took before Clint recruited her. That is also the reason why she is written as the lesser because she herself thinks less of herself.

That part about Jeremy was only one thing so I don't know about that but she seems to be treated equal on set and during interviews by the actors. Also the fact about Nat not getting a funeral is a small thing since, 1. They were already mourning Tony. 2. Even Vision, Loki, Heimdall, Ancient One, and Quicksilver and Agent Coulson (yes I know he's still alive but he is still dead to many people in the MCU) wasn't shown to have a funeral on screen because if a funeral is shown, those scenes are meant to showcase change just like when Fury's funeral was shown and Tony's funeral was also shown. Kinda agree about the character growth and women dying part since Peggy's death affected her but Black Widow gets some character growth during that scene as well.

The directors said that they didn’t think it would be true to her character to give her a huge funeral or something like that, and Tony was a public figure so obviously he’d have to have a big one
Natasha and Vision were part of Avengers too, esp Nat who also were there from the beginning, and that was the only thing that bothered me in that movie... Tony got a big funeral and Nat and Vision got like two people remembering them on the side when they deserved so much more than that
Agreed not nearly fair. Not quite as unfair as how much larger RDJ's checks were vs everyone else..but unfair. Tho the moment Cap teared up that they used in the trailer...that was from the scene where clint was telling rest of the team that Nat wasn't coming back, to me that was a more fitting tribute than the bench toss.

Black Widow had evolved. Before The Avengers, she was a killing machine that had no emotions, sympathy, nothing that made her human. All of that was taken away from her. She tried to get it all back and worked on becoming more human when she was on the team. The old Natasha would never sacrifice herself for Hawkeye, but now she has this connection with him and cares for him which would cause her emotional pain (something that would not effect her if it was old her). The old Black widow would willingly push him over that cliff without feeling remorse. She has evolved from what she has said a “monster” to a human who cares deeply for others.

She and Clint cared about each other before the Avengers formed. They've been together the longest, plus she's family to the Bartons. Though I do agree with how she's evolved into someone who came to care about the others, and her growth as a person and hero. She long ago wiped out the red on her ledger.

They had many opportunities to honor her, they could have thrown a bouquet to the lake in the funeral, in the all girls scene Wanda could have said “she’s not alone”, letting know Captain Marvel she had her back just like Black Widow did in infinity to war to her when fitghting Proxima, Captain America could have said he got the life Nat couldn’t get so he did it for both, but they just did nothing, they didn’t care, Tony wouldn’t even have had the chance to use the stones if she hadn’t sacrificed herself.
The “she thought of herself as lesser so she didn’t got a big funeral” excuse is bullshit, most people at Tony’s funeral knew her and appreciated her, she gave her life in order to save billions, I would’ve built her a massive statue and tell everyone what she did, yet they couldn’t even throw a flower to the lake.

The embodiment of “whatever it takes.” She has gotten rid of the red in her ledger. She gave her life for the family that made her a better person, a person with compassion and dignity. She is so underrated even with having one of the bigger character developments in the MCU. I love her so much. It literally feels like losing a member of the family. She got me through so much. She taught me so much. She was my childhood. She made me who I am today. Apart of me died when she did. I cried today for Nat, and endgame came out a year ago. I'll never stop missing her.

For me, Natasha’s death was the saddest because she sacrificed without knowing if they were going to make it. She trusted her team, her family, to do it and save the world. She had faith in them. On the other hand, Tony died knowing they won. I love these two characters so much ❤️❤️

She’s more than a spy. She’s more than a weapon. She’s the one who’s keeping the team together when the Sokovia Accords happened and yet still helped Steve ‘cause that’s what families do. She helped Steve to train the new Avengers in Age of Ultron. She’s basically, if not the main, one of the foundation of the team. Cause they’re the only ones she have.
There’s so many emotional scenes in End Game but her scene on Volmir is when I only cried. And her death paid off when they won. And they should because of her. Natasha deserves every love in this world. 💕

My 2 favourite heroes died in my favourite film. I can’t believe that. I’ve been thinking for days about them coming back, but I don’t think they will. Maybe Nat will come because I heard they planned on making her solo movie. Rest in peace Nat and Tony.

It would be ironical if it wasn't this sad: she who thought to be a monster, she who thought to have no soul, was the one who sacrificing her soul made everything possible. Though she deserved more, her own share of happiness, I still loved the fact that she didn't die because of weakness, but because of love. Not as a spy, but as a hero. Not for a mission, but for a friend, for her family, for the world.

Out of all the deaths in Endgame, Nat's was the one I expected the least.
Finally someone acknowledges her death. Her sacrifice. Everyone was upset about Tony and he got a funeral. But for Nat, nothing was done except for them being sad for a few seconds. The only they even got to fight was coz she died. And not only now, but she was a great hero in all her previous movies too.

I agree. At least Tony had happy life with Pepper and Morgan. Natasha didn't have happy life since childhood until her death. Orphan, trained in awful red room, sterilized. Became heartless assassin, killed many people. Joined shield but it turns out to be hydra. Became fugitive after civil war. Some of her friends died in IW. No one love her in romantic way. Clint is married, Bruce left her, Steve just sees her as a friend. No funeral too. Ugh. At least the way she dead is good, totally wiped out red of her ledger.

Same. Tony´s death was tragic but in the same way as goodbye to Steve. It felt like the end of their journey. And every journey has the end. However when Natasha died it felt unfinished. As if she comes back any second because even through we have seen her a lot in other movies, it never felt like she had her own story arc. She was always a part of someone elses.
