Good for you for getting all you need into carryon luggage, as you seem to need a lot! It's a good start. Both of your bags, together, would exclude me from carryon on BA. Your PI is way too big. Both my bags together have to be 20 lbs or less for me to manage, and it is a rule in our house that we have to manage our own bags. LOL. Briggs and Reilly are great bags but so heavy empty even... I'd like to see a packing video each year from you see your progression. I love the process. Keep going! Thanks for the video!
I love it when the algorithm suggests a great video. Thoroughly enjoyed this! I too am committed to carry on only travel. I watch a lot of packing tip videos and I learned some new tips. One is a quick grab bag you showed in the beginning. That Tumi carry on...i need it! Great video!
Great first video! I too love Packing with Laurie. I’m curious as to why you haven’t swapped out many of your layers quids for solid version, they save a lot of space and weight. I have a suggestion for your 2 bags that don’t quite match now, find something that screams “you” in maybe tags, patches or keychains and buy 2, then hang/attach one on each bag. Not a perfect solution but a step in the right matching direction!! ❤
Hi. Really liked your video. Could you please add the link or name of the Theft proof backpack to your list of products mentioned? I love the look and functionality of the backpack. Thanks
Thanks, June! I looked a long time for something and my friend (also a big traveler) found this. We both bought it and I went all over Greece singing its praises. 🙂I hope this link works: www.amazon.com/Telena-Backpack-Travel-Shoulder-Tassel/dp/B0C6XRXC2Q?pd_rd_w=OE3aJ&content-id=amzn1.sym.928be83d-9abb-4025-bc6e-e0aed5aed3c9&pf_rd_p=928be83d-9abb-4025-bc6e-e0aed5aed3c9&pf_rd_r=4HR2660CBTVBEC3PNJYX&pd_rd_wg=zeMdP&pd_rd_r=992f0d28-142f-4b87-a34f-50fc56430251&pd_rd_i=B0C6XRXC2Q&ref_=pd_basp_d_rpt_ba_s_2_t&th=1
Really enjoyed your debut video. I thought I was the only who packed like you. I’m amazed you got all your clothes in that single packing cube. My problem is with a heavier well made piece of luggage like Tumi is lifting it into the overhead bin. I have the 2 wheeled international carry on . I roll better with 2 wheels than 4 when using public transport in Europe like trains , trams buses , and at some stations the elevators don’t work , they have steps and for me 2 wheels are more stable on escalators.I think it’s ok that your personal carry on ( back pack) doesn’t match your carry on. Those Whisps are great ,I also carry a foldable pair of scissors smaller than yours. Love your collapsible coffee cup. I Also travel with an émersion coil to heat hot water in room. They come with EU, UK, and USA plugs . No worries most people have a little OCD ❤. Looking forward to more videos from you.
Oh yes, A bag cover either in durable rain proof vinyl or light weight fabric 22 inch , comes on / off has saved my lug from oil stains, scuffs, etc. A wise investment. You need to add Lomotil and a reflux med like Tums or OTC Pepsid to your just in case med bag. I rarely need them but nothing worst than when travelers (D) strikes when the pharmacies are closed in a new location.
I am practicing good form with my trainer on lifting the bag🤣. Spoiler alert: I just bought the matching backpack. I knew I wouldn't be able to resist.🤪 I'll make a video about it when it comes!
I haven't made it through your video yet, but I wanted to ask if you've ever had an issue with your liquids bag being larger than the quart-size TSA recommends. Also, some of the items in your toiletries bag are liquid (mouthwash, nail glue, etc.). Do you usually have them in your clear liquid bag? If not, have you ever been stopped at TSA? I'm a very nervous packer and am afraid I'd get pulled out of line or have to dump things out. I'm also a fan of Briggs and Riley luggage. My husband has a suitcase that unfortunately has a lot of grease that B&R couldn't remove, due to a checked bag situation. I may look into the luggage covers for future trips, even carry-on trips, just in case. Thanks for sharing your organization tips with us!
Hey, Wendy! I don't always put those small things in my liquids bag, but I know I should. BTW, the bag itself is TSA-compliant... Mascara is also technically a liquid (booo!). That said, I travel a lot and have never been stopped by TSA. I do find certain countries are stricter than we are (for some reason, Ireland comes to mind...), so I try to be a stickler if going to Europe. I hear you on the checked bag situation! That's why I'm carry-on all the way! Now I just need to work on being able to lift my bag over my head when traveling alone. 🙂
@@elisaabroadThanks for your response! Here's how nervous I am - one one trip where I travelled carry-on only, I practiced lifting the suitcase above my head and loading it. I had no doubt about the weight of the suitcase, it was my lack of grace I was worried about. Fortunately, I didn't bump into anyone :) Happy travels to you! Thanks for your excellent content.
Thanks! I got it online about 5 years ago from Briggs and Riley. I checked their website and it looks like they don't make this model anymore, but they have plenty of others! They have a great warranty, which is what they're known for...🙂
I ll never check in wver again my bag was lost 1st time in 60 yrs had to waste my own money in cdmx no assistance whatsoever for 13 nights then bag was almost lost 3 times on buses couldnt believe it. Will have to lose most things forever as nxt time will have nowhere to store them as too costly but prefer that than not to have my bag right in front of me. I ll have to take biggish store of meds and elecs have Uk heavy plugs no way round that so far...😂
Well done on your first video. I never understand how anyone travels carry on only when your bag weight is limited to,7kg? In 2 weeks I’m travelling from Melbourne to Dubai for 3 weeks, economy class passengers are only allowed one bag no heavier than 7 kg, even business class is inky allowed 2 bags at 7kg? Do you not have a weight limit?
Thirty minutes in and not a mention of clothes yet, aside from pjs and a robe! Sorry but I have to laugh…perhaps you are too organised? (Yes, it’s all in your intro…) In my view you’re carrying too much stuff. I love travelling carryon but my reasons for doing this are basically about freedom of movement and being able to carry my bag up and down stairs and over cobblestones, on and off trains etc with a bodgy back. All these things are impossible if your bag is too heavy and I suspect your bag is heavy. Can you tell me please, how much does your bag weigh? A heavy bag makes it harder to get around. Also your second bag is almost as large and probably just as heavy as your carryon. I live in Australia and when I fly to Europe my carryon is limited to 7kg maximum weight. It’s challenging , but possible with a small backpack. But, you need to pare everything down to the bare essentials. Clothes, three pairs of shoes - and you still have to wear your heaviest items on the plane. I have it down to an art form almost - 11-15 items of clothing (including what I’m wearing), 3 shoes, a swimsuit, sunhat, decanted toiletries, essential paperwork, mini iPad, phone, wallet, earplugs, headphones, a small crossbody bag and not much else. Well actually that’s not strictly true anymore. Since covid I now travel with a small ouch of medicines, covid test kits etc. I’ve also changed things up over the years. I used to travel with a carryon and a crossbody bag only but now I take a small backpack (about half the size of yours) because I need large headphones otherwise I can’t hear anything on those silly headphones airlines supply. I also need to carry my head aides and batteries, my electric toothbrush charger, medicine and vitamins -so my bag is a little heavier than it used to be - hence the second bag, the backpack. Having said all that I did like your video and your honesty about how and why and what you put in your bag because in the end it all comes down to what is essential for us. Well done on your first video!
My bag weighs between 20 and 24 lb. Really not heavy at all, and I have walked down cobblestone streets in many countries.😁. I love hearing about other people's strategies, so thanks for sharing!💓
Finally someone who packs carry on only who wears makeup and has lots of toiletries!!!!! Loved this!
I love YOU for saying that❤. The video I'm uploading today goes through all the makeup I bring. 😂

I like to be organized too!
What if you’re a bit more fashion obsessed? I usually have at least six pairs of shoes.
This... is a problem😂. You can fit a lot of clothes, but shoes are the killer. I wish it weren't true. 😢
It’s not obsessive, it’s just doing things the correct way! I get it!!! 😜
Exactly!🤣💕
Woo! Love it!

Generally no. Just because Qantas requires it doesn’t mean every other airline is the same.
what is the back pack you put in your suitcase for the daytime

24 minutes in, not a single item of clothing so far..😂 no shoes or towel, bikini, etc ..half of mine is always food and wine x
I've never felt so disorganized....
😂😂😂
