Gastelum had a good performance but he had an advantage and came across as a fighter with a lack of discipline and accountability unfortunately. Some would even agree with Cruz, that he did it to gain an advantage, either way he needs to make weight or move up. He can't keep pretending to be a welterweight and missing weight.

Yeah, tough for Bobby, I'm an Aussie and still thinks Strickland deserves it. Was a coin flip against Dricus, and if he was a UFC poster child, he'd still have the belt.
100% him and Sean need to fight. Don't see how rob or sean should get title shots without fighting each other. Sean lost, then beat Costa, who previously lost to Rob and was 1-3 going into the sean fight. With that 1 win being against a very washed Luke rockhold. Rob lost to the same guy sean lost to, but got finished. Then beat Costa who's not top 10, and just about another non top 10 guy. Don't see how you're getting title shot beating guys that ain't even top 10, let alone top 5....
Am i the only one sick of KG missing weight and the combination of not taking himself seriously during training camp and leading up to training camp?
He knew he'd miss weight weeks in advance and didn't notify UFC until 2 days before the fight...
He didn't answer DC's question but instead basically begged dana/UFC to keep him and that he'll "do better" even though he's done this before.

Jared cannonier dropped from heavyweight to middleweight and makes weight. He's extremely disciplined. KG is not, and it's a bad look for the company and the opponents bc of the disadvantages it creates.
Yeah it's more annoying now because he already moved up to 185 because of the weight issues. Then he moves down again just to have the exact same weight issues? Like wtf are we doing here.
As for Cannonier he's actually a decent example cause he was kinda chubby at HW. He got disciplined took his career seriously and ended up in phenomenal shape and racking up a pretty damn good resume. Gastelum has fought for a title before, but to be honest looking at his wins, most of the people he beat retired pretty soon after he beat them. Feels like if he was disciplined he could have put together a good run at 170 but at this point I just don't care to watch him fight any more
Rob is the man. When Izzy, Dricus, and every other fighter he has faced speak highly of him and how good of a guy he is, you know it’s real. Hope he gets another crack at the belt.

Johnny Walker was knocked out three times in one fight (in Brazil). Corey Anderson, jamahal hill, magomed Ankalev, and now Volkan Ozdemir. All of those were brutal KO’s to that he took a while to get up from. It’s just rough seeing a dude get his clock cleaned this often now
I've never noticed Robert's striking accuracy being so sharp as it was today....maybe a sign that he's still improving

I think this proves that a great record means nothing before you keep it in the top 5 of your division.
Everyone can be "{big number} - 0 or 1", when you're competing against unranked guys. Once you fight the big boys, it's a different story.
There ARE levels to this sh*t.
Many many are good or very good, but only a few are worthy of being a champ and even within the Top 10, there can be huge skill differences.

Think you need to watch the tape of volk vs walker as the ref did in fact react in time to try and stop the fight before the extra punch was thrown. Watch it back again Bisping and you will see the ref actually steps in to put his hand on Volk to stop it but volk is literally on top and throws that quick cheeky hook . its milliseconds. Little bit critical on the ref this time .
