- My cover version of Jean - Michel Jarre Rendezvous 2 played live on the Laser Harp.
The Prolight Laser Controller turns your laser projector into a very powerful customizable Laser Harp.
Check out www.laser-harp.com
The laser in this video is a 300mw green Laser from NRG lasers.
I hope you enjoy the video.

Great cover of one of my all time favourite Jean-Michel Jarre tracks!
bravo Ryan
Excellent work... I can only dream of owning a laser harp, but love to see others on theirs, and yours is pretty much up at the top of them....
Hi Andy thanks for your great comments.
For this track i found a soundfont file that replicates the laser harp sound from the Elka Synthex.
I then loaded the sound into my sampler within Ableton Live and set the notes to each desired laser beam.
In my Oxygene video i use the same method but sampled the lead sound from Rob Papens blue synth.
Cheers
Ryan
Great cover version, I'm building a laser harp from scratch, the brains of it is basicly the same as Prolight but better coding...
Hi thanks for your comment.
Firstly.... As you probably know, Jarre made the laser harp famous by writing rendezvous parts 2 & 3 specifically for the laser harp
When you get your hands on one of these, Almost everyone will want to do a version of either rendezvous 2 or 3. (see where im going with this?)
Also most of the videos on youtube are versions of rendezvous 3 and this version that i have done is rendezvous 2.
Alot of the versions in my opinion are musicialy poor bar a few. So i wanted to do my own version which i think is of a pretty high standard.
Moving on... You may be more interested in my next laser harp video so keep watching as its a bit different.
I hope that when you say my video makes you "raging" that you are only joking, as if something like that irritates you then you need to leave the house a bit more often. :-D
Cheers
Ryan
@DragkerO Yes you can use it to control Vst's. I connect the midi into my midiport and use it that way.
Great vid!
@davnm96 Yes you can play chords as long as what you have plugged into the harp is not mono. I normally play through sampler in live 8 and can play as many notes as i want.
You would need an extra couple of pairs of hands to play full chords though :-)
Wow that's cool man!
Thanks mate. 😃
Great cover Ryan.. ProLight do a great LH controller, ive not got myself but i am im building a laser harp from scratch using a DAC for the beams spread (8,9,12) and a processor for the rest.. Have you started to make your own tunes by programming the banks for samples and loops yet..? :)
spot on to jmj-zoolook :) x
@Mr3dayweek thanks...excelent.....i wish this
Excellent performance! Well done! Can i ask what synth are you triggering the laser harp sound from. Cheers.
I have a dmx512 coming in mail pluse a roland gaia synth sh 01 just wanting my harp to sound like how yall do it
I can control with this VSTi (z3ta+, nexus.etc)...If I buy the MIDI adapter to USB...
i have a laser harp i from usa how u make thoes sound starting off in you tube i been trying fugure that out long time now also can dmx512 control work as well
Can we do chords on those laser haprs?
Hello Mr3 , I just bought a laser harp and I am having problems, can you help me? I saw your video a lot of times, and you are using only 9 beans for this theme, wondering how you play this theme!!what I mean is, in the song there’s more them 9 notes between the highest note and the lower note . You begin with the D# and ends with the low C ! But if I play it on the keyboard the distance between this two notes are 14 notes! What’s the confuguration you use two play it with only 9 beans? Please can you help me?Best Júlio From Brazil!
Hi Julio, I haven't set the harp up for a few years now but you can asign any beam to any note or key you want. You can also use a foot pedal to change through octaves. 9 beams is fine for a track like Rendezvous 2 as it only contains 9 different notes. I used to set the harp sound up in a sampler within Ableton Live and map it to the beams. Hope this helps. :-)
Thanks man, I heard someone talking about it . Is this what they call Remap MIDI notes? It is possible to make in ableton live? When my laser harp arrives do you belive you can help me to do it? I never did something like that! My laser controler is the kontrolite from kromalaser , and it has USB conection, I belive we can map the notes and salve the preset inside the controler . And don’t worry I will pay you for the assistance.
