My precious wife, I am in shambles I am crumbling, I am Was it something I did Bid the tide to climb so high that it ripped our shore up I can fix it, I swear If you trust me I am old and I am rusting but I care I care My precious wife, we made a promise Pledged our flesh to be one How can you doubt a love that stood so proud as we raised our children I believe in it still It has faltered and it has faded But I know it's there It's there And how'd it change The way you thought of me How strange to think we once were lovers Now we've wrapped the past up in broken glass And when you speak my name you shudder My precious wife, believe I'll save this I'll revive it, I will We've built a family from this marriage Why would you tear it apart Speak now, precious Your silence screams You're giving in to your failure Hear me, the promise that you made was meant to keep forever Until we die, you're not allowed to change your mind Oh husband, I could not control Husband, I could not abstain One cannot stop the wind from blowing Nor refuse the falling rain Love stirred up a storm inside me Wrapped its arms around my waist I failed you dear, I'm sorry, oh I'm sorry But there was nothing I could do No, there was nothing I could do Sure as the rain will fall Some love just fails There was nothing I could do There was nothing I could do There was nothing I could do There was nothing I could do
@@HorkPorkler My guess is I was tryna reply to someone who was asking about the difference between this and Last Blues from Never Come Undone, but before I'd figured out how UA-cam replies work.
So.. is Last Blues the same song, just a different version? Because there are 2 different versions, Last Blue and Last Blue for Bloody Knuckels in the " Artist Tracks"
I love the acoustic version but I really can't get into La Dispute. I don't know if it's his voice, or rather how he uses his voice, but I appreciate all of his lyrics, even more so the acoustic versions of their songs.
@@trishabrady9337 I got into them for how they sound in the heavier songs, but got deeper into them from the lyrics when it turned out they spoke to me and became my comfort music
I've never heard a more perfect band in my life.
My precious wife, I am in shambles
I am crumbling, I am
Was it something I did
Bid the tide to climb so high that it ripped our shore up
I can fix it, I swear
If you trust me
I am old and I am rusting but I care
I care
My precious wife, we made a promise
Pledged our flesh to be one
How can you doubt a love that stood so proud as we raised our children
I believe in it still
It has faltered and it has faded
But I know it's there
It's there
And how'd it change
The way you thought of me
How strange to think we once were lovers
Now we've wrapped the past up in broken glass
And when you speak my name you shudder
My precious wife, believe I'll save this
I'll revive it, I will
We've built a family from this marriage
Why would you tear it apart
Speak now, precious
Your silence screams
You're giving in to your failure
Hear me, the promise that you made was meant to keep forever
Until we die, you're not allowed to change your mind
Oh husband, I could not control
Husband, I could not abstain
One cannot stop the wind from blowing
Nor refuse the falling rain
Love stirred up a storm inside me
Wrapped its arms around my waist
I failed you dear, I'm sorry, oh I'm sorry
But there was nothing I could do
No, there was nothing I could do
Sure as the rain will fall
Some love just fails
There was nothing I could do
There was nothing I could do
There was nothing I could do
There was nothing I could do
I'll always love this song. It's hit so hard. So simple but so much feeling
"Sure as the rain will fall, some love just fails without a reason"
"one cannot stop the wind from blowing, nor refuse the falling rain". Superb.
ty anja for showing me this great band. both will forever be in my heart. hopefully you're happy wherever you are
This album is truly a masterpiece
Poetry doesn't need to rhyme; that's just a restriction to artists and poets everywhere.
Idk why they taught us is school that poetry was rhyming. None of my posters books rhyme but they’re all perfect
That’s what we call a monologue😊
It does rhyme. ._.
You just have to listen to the rhythm.
There's a melody in everything, darling. :)
i don't know how the fuck i got here but this is amazing. wow

Nor refuse the falling rain.

wow, i've found a strong liking for them lately.
These guys are great. They remind me of Mewithoutyou just a lil harder. Post hard-core has gotta be my favorite genre.
would it be dramatic to say this is the best song ever written? ever?
thanks for putin up the lyrics XD
Good.
No
ok.
GREAT. c:
@Bendingg Vancouver was an EP.
They have the same lyrics (almost) and chord progression.
I've always thought of Last Blues for Bloody Knuckles as being a heavier version thereof.
Huh?

PeterMAV jordan pours emotion into his music. it’s not about sounding good. it’s about making sure you can grasp the emotion behind the words.
