- Great to see 8 punts out on very cold January day, which happened to be my Birthday.
A 5.4 meter tide with 0.4M surge meat that we could sail along the road that joins Mersea Island with the mainland.

A lovely and poetic video, thank you. Duck punters are always a joy, but especially when sailing over flooded roads. Keep on punting.
Thanks, will do!
Your very own Duck Punt Island! Sailing together like that must be so much fun. Thanks for posting.
Love the way the duck punt will virtually sail on wet grass. Great boats.
We went out on Sunday and sailed over Sunken Island, I'll upload the video soon.
Just what we needed to get 2024 underway , some Duck-punters at play.
Love it.
Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice drone shots!
Lovely! Love that DP sail emblem too. We have a few of these where I sail on the Stour estuary (Manningtree). Always good to see them out.
Brilliant Lurch. Ours is nearly ready.
Brilliant! And for the cars - great way to rust out your under-body!
I am jealous, my punt is all tucked away for winter and it is snowing out. I would rather be out there.
What I think is interesting about these boats is that they have no keel or centerboard. How do they go to windward without sliding sideways?
I love these simple boats, where can I find plans to build one?
They are in the photo gallery of the West Mersea Duckpunts Facebook page, and I believe Dylan Winter still has them on his blog.
Thanks!
Great
This is really lovely and inspiring, I just downloaded the free plans. Can I ask what sort of drone was used for the great camera work?
Thanks for the comment. I use a DJI Mini 2.
@@lurch1e Thanks much!
