Anteaters don't only eat ants - they often prefer termites. This is because, gram for gram, termites are one of the richest sources of the nutrient nitrogen, which is needed for making proteins. Even in grasslands, which are known for their lack of nitrogen in the soil, termites thrive. The reason? Termites can make their own nitrogen from thin air. Which is why grasslands need termites.

The name is most likely a misnomer as termites are often confused with ants (in fact, termites are also called "white ants")

Dude works out. There used to be a youtube video of one crushing the life out of a jaguar. It did give a fair warning but the jaguar was too young to know what it was getting into. I went looking for the video but couldn't find it. I think it was in Spanish which is why I'm not finding it with an English search.
Also, the coloration on their forelimbs looked at from the side, has the appearance of a spectacle bear's head and snout (some people say Panda, but Spectacled Bears and Pandas are related to each other and only one of these two are in the same habitat as the Giant Anteater.)
