I thoroughly enjoy how Alchemy condensed the self improvement and transcendental process of creating the golden soul. You explained it very well also. Sometimes the history can be a hindrance and doesn’t need to be included in the techniques of applying the material. The decision to explain the process rather than elaborate on the origins of the subject, is revolutionary

Is it uncommon to feel like you've always known some of these things? That it comes naturally to you? For many of the concepts to arise in your mind naturally without any hermetic training?
Yeah, at the end of the day most of these topics are supposed to be understood just by aging. I will say that it is common for most people that seek it out.
Actually let me rephrase that, it is common to understand the process of self-actualization but if you're noting symbolism like Sulpher, Salt, or Mercury then that's quite odd.
Not symbolism per-se, but most of the 7 principles are things that I had already worked out on my own. The idea that we are all part of the mind of God, that he is us and we are Him/Her. The idea that our will, as an expression of our consciousness can effect our reality. I hadn't really sought any of it out. I was a christian most of my life, but skeptical of it. It seemed to me that most people didn't understand their own religion. They ignored way too much and cherry picked their dogma. I always also had a deep interest in science, which eventually led me to becoming an "atheist." (without religion) but that wasn't quite right, because I still had questions about consciousness. I was fascinated by things like synchronicity, and the currents of knowlege that seem to eb and flow through everyone. How things, interests, concepts, fears, etc. seem to present themselves to multiple people at the same time. I've always been extremely empathetic, and intuitive about other people. When I was a kid my mom would get mad at me because I'd make "potions" out of her perfumes and various household chemicals. I'm a professional brewer and distiller (not kidding). I've always been interested in various arcana, from native american, to thelema, to this, to... whatever. I never really studied any of it beyond their history, But lately it seems that these concepts have been presenting themselves to me in a way I have never grasped before, and the more I watch, the more I see that I already "knew." As I have been watching this video I can see where I am in this process. I just seem to have this appetite all of the sudden to devour as much as I can. Which to be honest makes some of it hard to digest. I'm drinking from the fire-hose so to speak, and I can't help but see things differently than I used to. But I've yet to settle into a definable comfortable place yet as a result of all of it.
Such is the nature of "initiation." If you ever feel as if you're settled into a comfortable place you're either taking a break or tired of the headache that comes from the life of learning esoteric concepts. There are many spaces and many ways to approach the same ends, alchemy being one of the easiest to digest for the modern western enthusiast. Yet if you've taken on Thelema then the point is the union of theology, psychology, and symbolism. All of this considered, yes that is very normal. It is normal to feel as if you have known something, hence the comprehension of it. Otherwise, you would be simply uninterested without the comprehension. The real question is how do this scenario arise. Most people I've spoken with believe it is some factor of reincarnation or direction by divine will. So here's my story. I once started writing a book that ended up being very similar to Crowley's Blue Book which I even called "Mysticism in Theory and Practice," how nice. I hadn't read it, nor did I know the immediate (rip-off) that would have been its production. So yes, it happens and I have this opinion of what it is; all that can be known - Is and preexists the "Knower" of that information. When the time comes, they are reminded of it or as I said to my friend when he pointed out the similarity of the texts "my words are not my own."
The Nemeton - All is mental, the universe is mental. It's almost like I've been drinking from a fire hose of knowledge. I've been dreaming about it. Studying the common threads of the various ancient pantheons and their corresponding mystery schools. The obvious hermetic / alchemical themes in the Bible. The polytheistic origins of Judaism, and how that relates to what I read and true meanings of things relative to the context of when they were written. It's almost too much. Some days it seems clear and obvious, others it's all just a mess of unrelated facts and principles rattling around. Some days I feel like I'm truly connected and tapped into something, and relax into it. Others... Frustration and dissatisfaction. How has masonry helped you?
The impish rogue with a twinkle in his eye is an essential trait of being a high level alchemist. Alan Watts highly recommends it. It is a confirmation that you have an affection for your fellow human beings (soul travelers)
@@TheNemeton but I still like this one cuz goes straight to it's meaning. I graduated in psychology and couple months ago accepted to be a witch and I'm learning about spiritualitism like how psychology goes with it. So to me self actualization and transmutation is learning about the self and loving the self and letting go of fears and not let our ego take over how you mentioned in the video.
Is it weird that I don't believe in the perfected self. No matter how far I ascend I will always be able to find flaw within myself. I see the alchemical process of transmutation as a cyclical process, one that happens many times in a lifetime, perhaps even daily. To believe there is one state of perfection for one to strive to achieve only sets oneself up for disappointment, and such a perspective can be detrimental to mental health. I didn't leave one dogmatic religion so that I would enter a new one. I believe in growth without the expectation of perfection. Perpetual ascendance, never stopping.
I'd actually suggest looking into the aerial spirits from Levi's methodologies. But definitely take the time to read up on the whole engagement of elementals.
@@TheNemeton well the elementals is all I have I know it don't make sense but my Powers kind of changes me from a shaman to an alchemist and now since I'm starting to learn alchemy I was wondering if there was a way I can harness the spirits of the elementals to have power 💚💙💜💯🗝️
@@TheNemeton question why does the nematon sound so familiar just like the word arcanum the reason why I asked this is cuz I know that I can connect to the elementals cuz I already did it with water and I know how to change it from gas solid to liquid cause I realize the human body is all water so once I realized me and the element are one it works but how would I do that with the sky

The comment about needing to open your mind is logical. However, if you do the 1st 4 steps your mind/awareness will begin opening on its own at step 5. There is no need to push yourself to try to achieve anything. The 2nd stage is used to get out of your own way and allow for expansion to begin from the 5th. In order to get to the 2nd stage all you really need to do is let go. The 3rd and 4th steps are refining processes. As you go through the stages you will experience internal change and will even become aware of external change. The process will most probably be disorienting. It's important to note that to properly go through these stages its important to be initiated by a qualified master. They are trained to help the student establish a safe and healthy practice.
