I had to speed up the book to keep me going but once you got to those last 17 pages… all of the tears came out and rolling down my face. My mom looked at me concerned and then I told her. I am a odd dude who makes hats for the homeless in Ontario, Canada. I enjoy listening to audio books as I craft their winter hats. You did an incredible job telling this story. You did a far better holding it together at that end, than I did. I also very much enjoyed the jiggles and squeaks from your puppers and it's toys. Thank you for this gift. *tips his hat to you*

This book has such a depressing ending, which i really appreciate. It shows that there were no “happy endings” during World War Two. It would be completely insensitive for it to end on a good note.
Thanks,Is a very great book with a very sad final...i have 40 years but my soul opened and i cry in the same time with you because i empatized with the girl and you.my grandfather was in the war and many time i have see him smoke and look nowere....and later i understand him that the memory of past hauted him.you are a very nice narator with childish mistakes and i wish luck to continue wath your doing.sorry for my bad enghlish but i am from romania and i do not write all corectly.tnks so much again
