SeaWorld Rescues Dolphin Stuck in Mud | SeaWorld San Diego

The SeaWorld San Diego Rescue Team gave a long-beaked common dolphin a second chance at life after it became stuck in the mud of a coastal estuary. The dolphin was spotted in an estuary of the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday, Dec. 10. Animal rescuers from SeaWorld, along with the Imperial Beach lifeguards, were able to guide the adult male dolphin to deeper water in the estuary. It was hoped he would swim to open water in San Diego Bay and ultimately back to the ocean. While the dolphin was free swimming over the next 48 hours, he never left the estuary.
