I have walked thru the row upon row of graves at Normandy. All these young men who died on the same day. AND it does reduce many who visit, unashamedly too tears. And the "enemy' dead are just up the road. All is quiet now and at peace.. But to honor these men, EVERYBODY must work harder for the peace they gave up their tomorrows for.

When I watch this video I wondered why some Americans don't appreciate what our solider have given to allow them to do what they do today. It has brought some good and bad memories to me. Most of my family served during WW11 and I was only a young boy. I remember my uncle coming home on leave, he was wounded and returned. Many memories and I felt like I wanted to cry for the families of these great men. I more could be done for the families of our military and those who served.
Robert Augeri my grandfather liberate philphines and new Guinea he never talk much about it when I came home from service he talk to me a little bit about it
I'm so glad that in the B of B series, they included so many of these brave men as characters. I actually remembered many of those names. That makes this all the more touching. My Dad was a paratrooper, he was about 4? years behind these guys so he missed WWII by that much. He was sent to Korea. He ended up coming home from Korea with tiny pieces of shrapnel in his scalp from a hand grendade; a 'souvenir.' If he had been born 4 years earlier... I probably wouldn't be here. He didn't like to talk about it or brag, but on rare occasions he let is feel the little shrapnel bumps under the skin. He would tells us that War is not like the TV or movies(60s).
My neighbor growing up was with the 82nd Airborne. He survived D-Day and the war. He taught me how to catch bass so we spent a lot of time alone together in a boat. He never talked about the war with me and I was afraid to ask. He talked to my dad and another neighbor who were both veterans of Korea about D-Day and the war and I was shocked at some of the stories. I never really appreciated what he did and the miracle of surviving the war as an Airborne soldier until I became an adult.
Thank you so much for posting this, it is of the utmost importance that we never forget these men from E Company, 506, 101. They have been a constant inspiration to me. Whenever I am faced with a difficult problem, I think: "what would Easy Company do? What would Dick Winters do?" I have never met any of these men, but I feel a special bond withv them, as if I knew them for my whole life.
Great video. My grandfather was a pilot in WW2, he met his wife in England while fighting there, and also fought in the Pacific. Loved the BoB book and miniseries.
I was watching the tributes to Winters, Guarnere, Malarkey, somehow it reminds me of a scene from the movie The Longest day. Where Richard Burton is in the mess getting a beer. "Flight Officer David Campbell: The thing that's always worried me about being one of the few is the way we keep on getting fewer." end qoute. How true that is. RIP Screaming Eagles
Virtual salute from the heart to all of them, and to the countless others who were equally brave and valiant, but not portrayed in a film. From a vet who came 50 years later
Forever will their names be remembered and they shall be the true heroes of our time. We will forever be indebted to their sacrifices. Thank you for giving your lives so that others can live freely. God bless and may all of your souls rest in peace.
(5 years late) One entire plane load, including the Company Commander and staff were killed when the plane was shot down before they could jump. That accounts for many of the large D-Day casualties.

Thank you for this this is a true reminder that freedom is not free and that we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude today's man who gave the ultimate sacrifice we may have the freedoms we have today. I have children these were very young every time we see a veteran they know exactly what to do that is to walk up to that individual shake their hand and thank them for their service to our country

Watch this old WWII movie. Battleground with Van Johnson. You guys jave my heart and absolutely my Standing Salute.! All of you Veterans!
Incredibly sad that they couldn’t live a longer life - but how many of us will ever be remembered forever that we literally helped save the world? Those men are legend.
These men, the men killed in action, are the heroes. They made the sacrifice that was truly all they could give. Their lives. REST IN PEACE under God's watch men, you'll never be forgotten.
There is a quote on a monument in the Pacific theatre that in my opinion sums it up best, it says something like this, "they gave their tomorrow's for your today."
I thank all those brave souls that ensured my freedom....I can only hope someday to ensure that freedom for others. God bless and keep all American heroes
I was going to forward to the next video because this one is kinda boring ..... but then I thought to myself that I'm obligated to watch it to the end and read each and every name which I did.
So did I , Rob. For several years I have followed the heroic deeds, later lives, and deaths of these HEROES. Dick Winters, Bill Guarnere, Babe Heffron Don Malarkey, Shifty Powers, ETC.ETC. They are my heroes .
A great tribute ,puts everything in perspective they were a long way from home in a strange land sacrificing there young lives so the world could be rescued from tyranny.( Forever Young ).
The scene that forever will stick to me is watching Penkala and Muck getting incinerated in their foxholes by a shell. They were just there screaming at Luz, then next thing you know they just aren’t there. No screaming out in pain or struggling, just gone from this world in an instant. I can’t imagine watching two of my best friends being incinerated in front of my eyes, in the same foxhole that I would’ve died in if I had gotten there 2 seconds before
I believe that is how most of these young men would have liked to have been remembered is by there young photos, also I think this is a wonderful song for this Video. They shouldn't have to be remembered how they were on the battlefield photos tell a thousand words. 🇺🇸 🦅
So many dead on that one day. 6th June 1944...to train for so long and never make it through that first day yet they still fought as bravely and honourably as those who survived the entire war.
Even though I served 21 years in the military, I still don't understand how can a man become such an inspiring man to only die on a battlefield or to have survived war(s) and to eventually die? It's very unfortunate to be born just to die on battlefield.
Rob Abreu : You are absolutely correct. It was not that I was disinterested at the beginning, not knowing just what was going to play, but I guess I was expecting perhaps a ceremony at one of the Allied graveyards in France. However, like you, after the first two or three men were honored, I was unable to look away or leave the clip, pausing to read the inscriptions on the few crosses shown, even though the names were written in on the screen.

They will never grow old in the hearts of the men who survived. They were the heroes of the world. Today, they will be all on the dark side of the moon all together, like what they will always be, Band of Brothers.
My grandpa was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. Before he passed on my mother made a video (tried) of his service. He would only tell when and where he went.
