The proco has something in the mids that make it sound fuller than the Black Secret. The notes seem to bloom a little more. At half the price it's probably good enough for most people.
I have a Proco Fat Rat, and I replaced the chip for an LM308 (a subtle difference, but OK... I'll go with the original chip), and I recently got a Mooer Black Secret (mini) pedal. Right now I prefer the Black Secret... it seems smoother, with rounded tone edges, and fits in with my Marshall Plexi tone better, either at low Distortion or higher (at least for now). Both are great pedals.
@@papak8443 thank you for your indepth response, appreciate it muchly! I've recently acquired a black secret which I'm contemplating pairing with my Frost Giant Massif for some Stoner doom tones.
very unusual. i wasn’t really expecting to hear such a playing in a video demonstrating rats. but you’ve got serious chops man. consider incorporating that style with heavy guitar and drum sounds and i would pay for that music haha cheers

I agree! I ended up selling the Black Secret
Which did you prefer?
I ended up selling the Black secret, keeping the rat! Imo it sounded a bit more fuller

Thanks, I think haha.
I’ve got music on all streaming platforms, no heavy guitars but there are indeed drums
