After six decades in service the MIG 21 stil had a great appearance and was one of the most awaited jet every year at Bucharest International Air Show and also in other Romanian Air Shows.

Love how much louder the afterburner is than the jet engine. It’s super quiet when the afterburner is off, then gets as loud as close thunder when the afterburner lights. Also love how it looks. Very cool jet!
Yes love it too. Mainly this jet brought me to this airshow. Now it is retired from use.

So beautiful bird, timeless design, that delta or triangle shape geometry always it's gonna be the most beautiful, this boy, the B58 and SR 71 remains as the top 3 in use this wings configuration and probably in a top 10 most beautiful airplanes they're in too

Brilliant display! You can see with that manouverability why they were such a challenge for Phantoms. There don't seem to be any limits on manoeuvering with gear down . That's a very impressive maneuver at 4:30 I thought was only possible with thrust vectoring.

In Vietnam War, Mig-21 shot down plenty US fighter jets that were technologically superior to it, F-4's, F-8's, F-105's, F-111's,... One Vietnamese pilot even shot down a B-52 while flying Mig-21. He said "... the trick was to evade the escorting tactical fighters. Once you got pass those, a B-52 was simply a sitting duck with a big target sign painted on it. And once you hit your target, you had to get out of there quick; otherwise, it was your turn to bear the target sign for those F-4s."

Our US loss ratio at worst was 1:1. USAF was 2:1. US Navy after TopGun was an increase from NVAF 2.42:1 US Navy to NVAF 12.5:1 USN. American Fighters have to be Large. We have to self deploy from California to Hawaii. NO Mig-21 can do that.
The F105 and F111 weren't even fighters, they were fighter-bombers. And the F4 shot down plenty of Migs once the rules of engagement were loosened...

Mersi. Sony Ax53 incepand de anul trecut. Ma ajuta mult, dar nu are nici pe departe zoom-ul optic ce-l ai tu daca folosesti tot compactul de care mi-ai zis ca are zoom de vreo 70x!! Pe atunci ma chinuiam cu un compact Canon si faceam videourile cam lungi (asa mi-ai zis) narav de care n-am scapat nici acum :(...si parca te-ai molipsit si tu putin :P
@@Seneslau07 pt ca să îl bage yt la recomandări trebuie sa aibă peste 10 minute un video. Canon sx 60 hs asta al meu are 65 X. Ce ma enervează e zoom-ul care e cam "tremuricios" și lent. A apărut și sx 70 hs, are tot 65x dar în plus 4k 30 fps..
@@CrisURace Multumesc pentru pont. La mine nu va fi o problema :)) ma si mir ca Baltic Bees l-am scos sub 10! Sa sti ca pentru ce zoom ai eu nu-l vad deloc tremurat. Acele devieri mai ample cred ca sunt din miscarea trepiedului, si mi se par normale si foarte bine mentinute sub control la asa mariri. Eu am intreg grupul optic in balans, ca pe giroscoape si tot imi tremura la zoomul max de 30x si uneori nici nu respir :)) mai ales la trecerile deasupra capului. (are 20x optic, dar il intinde la 30 in full hd facand crop pe senzorul de 4K fara pierdere de calitate, ceea ce nu e valabil si pentru filmarile 4k unde ramane zoomul max de 20x) Eu la 50fps filmez dar in 2018 am filmat si la 25 si nu am observat diferente, dar cica ar fi mai ales pt avioanele noastre rapide. M-am gandit si la trepied dar nu vad unde s-ar putea la BIAS cu asa ceva caci la spotteri nu prea ai unde, mai ales ca la unele treceri ma mai intind si peste gard cu camera in mana ceea ce nu as putea cu trepiedul.
@@Seneslau07 50 60 fps e mult mai bun, cam asta e era, smooth video. 24 e pt cinema, și nu-s fan. În plus din 60 fps faci niște slow motion bune. În legătură cu stabilizarea, eu îl trec și printr-un program de stabilizare și ala ajuta enorm. Altfel ar fi super tremurat hehe.

No doubt! U.S' F4 Phantom was no👎 match to the MiG21. It was Phantom killer. It could easily out maneuver the bulky Phantom.
So explain to me how American F4s decimated the NVA's Mig21 fleet whenever they met head-to-head... The only thing holding the F4 back was the stupid US rules of engagement. Once the ROEs were fixed, Mig21s never stood a chance.
@@kamraam1464; check out the "PENTAGON'S MILITARY AIR TO AIR COMBAT HISTORY". They've very long determine that MiG-21 was very effective against U.S made F-4 Phantom. Take a look at the "Phantom"; for yourself. It's bulgy, especially when weapons are loaded under it's wings. I've seen real footages of MiG-21s downing U.S' aircrafts over North Vietnam. It was not all surface to air missiles. MiGs were involved. You bet!

Once The Phantom was within close combat range, the cheaper MiG would break-out. Then came The MiG21; for the kill. *Considering the size of North Vietnam's Airforce, The U.S Lost a lot more combat aircrafts; including, very expensive B-52s. Hey!😊 A win is a win. North North Vietnam won big Faced with all the odds...

It is amazing how quiet the fighter becomes when its tail and nozzle is away from the viewers and the camera! It is almost totally silent until it reaches right above one's head! And then, in a real war situation like this, you know what would happen next, once the Mig or any other fighter for that matter, surprises you like that by sneaking in silently below the radar! And then ... 🚀🚀☠☠☠☠⚰⚰⚰⚰
That;s what amazed me also especialy at that low pass from the left with the plane tilted on one side, although the speed isn't that big, it reaches us almost togheter with the plane! Ore one time when it gows up and..quiet, like it shuts down the engine.

Very nice machine. Still, the only place such an airplane belongs is at an air show, museum or private collectors. Not to go to war with it. Pretty bad that in 2022 such airplanes are the major war machine in someone’s Air Force. 🙃
Pretty bad that in 2022 the word war is still a thing when all spiritual books say that we are one and individual thought, words and act influences the colective thinking which is like an enthity and drives the planet with all that's on it. It's not in the air force annymore, F16 took it's place, another killing and distroying machine made by human's endless and meaningless fear. Fear of not having enough, of giving to others, of life, of death.

Chestia este o jumatate de luping continuata cu un tonou. Ceea ce fac pilotii de Mig 29 (si pot face si pilotii de F22 si cei de Rafale) se numeste "Cobra". Avand in vedere ca Mig 21 nu este un avion manevrabil, el a fost proiectat pentru altceva - este un interceptor, ceea ce face Gica Stancu cu acest avion este, intr-adevar uimitor!

But 20 years obsolote avionics. This Upgrade is worse than Mig21-93, but nobody from Easteurope

Obsolete in you mind but not a Third World country who can afford this and a $6-18 million dollar Western fighter and it easy to maintain and very manuevrable and does what it it a country who buys it needs it to do. One of my top 10 modern fighters. Love it'd look. Also has 250+ kills to it's name unlike the Vanted F-15s 131 kills. But what matters most is the pilots skills the the plane. Bad pilot better plane and you get nothing. Good pilot old plane and you can sometimes out do the better plane. Planes are only 40% of the equation, the pilots skills are the other 60%.

@todd r Romania a third world country? It has 45+ F-16's and F-35's on order, not to mention MIM-104 Patriot PAC3+, Himars, AH-1Z Viper, UH-1Y Venom and many more.
Very fast fighter but the equipment, weapon capabilities, and electronics are ancient.
The Lancer version has the same electronics as the F-16 also modern missiles.
MIG 21 Lancer, modernized by Elbit - Israel and Aerostar - Romania. The avionics is comparable to that of the F16, it has a decent radar, it uses missiles of Soviet and Western origin - R73, Mirage and Python, and it is lethal in its range!

O avionica de excepție- aripa DELTA - cu puține opțiuni de planare - însă unul de lupta scurta - are 45 de min ( rezervor ) plus adiacent 800 l kerosen - în total 1 ora și 25 min de zbor - Însă în manșa lui Davidovici sau Luca -este aur !
