Kaiju No. 8 is set in a world in which monsters named kaiju regularly cause disasters. Japan is the country with the highest rate of kaiju attacks in the world and, to combat them, it establishes the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force (日本防衛隊, Nihon bōei-tai, lit. "Japanese Defense Force"). Kaiju are assigned a "fortitude level"-a scale indicating their overall strength, and are classified as honju-more dangerous, stronger kaiju, and yoju-smaller kaiju that can accompany or sprout off from the honju. Kaiju that have high fortitude levels or abnormal characteristics are given a number as an identifier based on when they first appear and are classified as daikaiju.

I remember this being the part that sold me on the manga. I really liked the father-daughter relationship they established between Kafka and Kikoru here. It felt like the series taking advantage of Kafka being older than most shonen protags to do something new with the character dynamics.
Also in the manga they had the fight be three full page panels that are identical just with more of the kaiju being blasted off with each page. So like in the first panel it looked fine, then in the second you could see the bone, and then in the third the whole thing was being obliterated.

Kafka and mina moment are limited i can only mention one on 105 chapters lol, imagine 100+ chapters they got no solid moments unlike kikuro and kafka, they evn show where her parents fist bump into each other like they did (kafka and kikuro) while fighting kaiju

I'm not sure if this is the case, but if Kaiju power readings are measured exactly like earthquake scaling, on a magnitude scale, that means that the power difference between 6.4 and 9.8 isn't as linear as ~150% more powerful; it's exponential, and closer to three hundred and thirty-three THOUSAND TIMES STRONGER. (My math might be wrong lol but its based on the power of an earthquake relative to a hypothetical amount of TNT in kg on a Ritcher scale)
I’d bet that’s what they’re going for. A 6.4 would be devastating to your state/small country. A 9.8 would be devastating to your half of the planet.

Honestly I believe that Kafka isn't human. I believe when the kaiju bug merged with him it turned him full Kaiju. The reasoning I have for this is how difficult it was for him to maintain his human form. He had to concentrate pretty hard to stay human at first. So, in short, Kafka is a Kaiju that can turn into a human just like mushroom head, but he retains everything he was so he is still Kafka.
he is actual a human that became a kaiju while the dude at the end is a kaiju that can change into a human there's a big difference but i see the comparison but kafka's transformation is solely based on emotional drawbacks rather than physical.. the manga will explore the dude at the end and the next episode will provide more details.

I believe that Kaiju has taken over humans like what happened with Kafka trying to blend in, so now we can't easily trust anyone.
So Kafka might be a special case, capable of controlling his situation or his Kaiju might be siding with humans for some reason. That's my theory

So a human who can turn into a kaiju left the clean up crew to join the army defense against kaiju. And a kaiju that can turn into a human join clearing up crew

That kaiju at the end ate one of the interns of the clean up crew and took his appearance, at the same time kaiju no.8 merged with kafka which is why he had difficulty using the phone etc., also why the crew never noticed he was out of place.
Mina is a kuudere type. Theyre not devoid of emotions, they just have a poker face. And she wasnt mad at him, she was disappointed that he gave up but she still waited

From what I've observed ... Kikoru more like showed kafka how she was strong 4 times before ... And now kafka returned the favor ... First was blocking the first blast, next was blocking the second blast, then punching the honju, and lastly was killing the one that sneaked behind Kikoru ... So I guess they're even now

I'm under the assumption that these things can possess humans and take over their minds; whereas the one that infected Kafka wasn't strong enough to take over his mind and so he has full control of the Kaiju abilities. The bug thingy said "found you" as if he had been marked at some point but after he turned into a Kaiju, Kafka still had full awareness of himself. I don't think that was supposed to happen it doesn't seem to make sense for these bugs to be infecting people and yet letting them keep their awareness. I would assume most humans would just get rid of the bigger Kaiju if that's the case (of course there are those who may work with the Kaiju who knows) but in general, these things have been terrorizing humans for some time so giving humans the ability to turn into a Kaiju seems a bit silly on their part if these Kaiju are trying to destroy humans (who knows what they are after or why they are there.) This could be the evolution of the Kaiju to use humans as a host. Just me speculating so I'm not sure.
My people in the studio are cooking with this show i hope they keep up this quality of animation and the comedy is hilarious on par with one punch mans comedy as well as strength 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I was expecting all of Kafka's human injuries to heal when he turned into a kaiju. Maybe I got too used to Animorphs going up. Their shapeshifting ability would forget any injuries they had because it wasn't stored in their DNA.

While it isn't a 1 to 1 comparison, you should consider monster fortitude numbers the same as the scale they use for earthquakes. An increase of 1.0 is a multiplier more over the single digit number below it, which means that Kaiju #8 vs the reanimated houju in this fight, he was roughly thousands of times stronger which is why that single punch wrecked him so bad. (also concentrated power in a small hand vs spread out power in a car sized hand, but that is a separate thing).

Kafka fails because he is not compatible to the suit , the kaiju suit is so biased it is not physical strength that lets you draw power from the suit,
if physical strength is key why not the 2 Top scorer in the 2nd test are not the highest UBP
@@ricomambozero3811 The suit was made to draw from an outlet of kaiju power to maximize efficiency to counter kaiju onslaught. However kafka isnt just any kaiju. He is kaiju no.8 of the strongest so the suit is just incompatible, he literally out classes it so obviously it wont bind and work properly if the suit senses a power far greater inside.
Just dissapointment, Kafka was her motivator to join the forces. She felt like Kafka left her alone

Well as far as i can remember, why Kafka become number 8 insted of being killed, haven't been explained in the manga, maybe in the LN, my personal theory is that the parasite that attaked Kafka wasn't able to control him because of he's driven to become part of the force, menwhile the parasite that ataked the other dude control him completly and become the other Kaiju, that has a name, but i won't spoil that.
