I've seen the big cats up close. The Jag is by far the most physically impressive in muscularity. The zoo that I was at , you could get up to about 3 to 5 ft. away. There was a young Siberian tiger about 500lbs. and various lions over 400lbs., none looked to be even close to a match physically for the 350lbs. Jag. Ultimately I would not want to see them hurt each other.

@@fullstrutn Lion's weight vary too much. Same goes for size, bite force, mane, overall facial appearance etc. Don't get me wrong, as a Brazilian I love Jaguars and they're my favorite feline.
the most adept predators in the world in my opinion. strongest of all the big cats even though theyre not the biggest. sleek, agile, stealthy, cunning, powerful, intelligent.
That is by far the Orca, they hunt great white sharks, whales, smaller doplhins and realy everything that they can exept humans so far
the orcas are spotted in every ocean in the world and everywhere they have diffrent ways of hunting, they can even kil pinguins or seals while they are on land or on a hump of ice in the sea
TheSuperhoden you cant compare a land animal to a water animal. plus orcas success is heavily due to hunting in large packs of many whales with teamwork. the jaguar is a solo hunter.
Sure you can, you can compare how many hunts are succesfull and how many time they have left to play but I'm not gonne discuss about that, just wanne say that orcas are not whales, they are dolphins and called killer whales sometime becaus they hunt whales at the east coast of the usa

Yhey swim daily and draw fish with a jerk of their thick black J shaped tail, daily , researchers say .... no other cat does this.... and they have no predator so they dont take their meal up a tree like the leopard does to get away from Lions , Loving to swim and eat fish and turtles and other water creatures wherever they are.... that is why they live along rivers and lakes , like the big deep ones In the Eastern part of Texas especially ones surrounded by few people , wild river bottom , hardwood forests, and thickets of black locust and pecans and oaks with hogs and deer , like we have.most amazing sight ever

He did kill m big 100 pound anatolian and 65 pound stocky Aussie . Both alpha guard dogs who were on patrol and headed down to the river Bottom toward its area when He or she roared last spring assumed they treed the cat ( they dont run, but after about 10-15 minutes, by research on behaviour , they usually come down and kill any dog who have them treed. impatient wont be intimidated ) I was sad and am,, but it is life. and my other dogs just hike with me . One time the female Aussie was with me, and went into the woods, when she and I heard It about 15-20 yards one late evening when i got caught on a longer hike deep in the river bottom where it stayed , I didnt follow her, Hiked shaken on home on the trail away with a flahslight , praying , and Lucy evidently came upon it eating , and NOT being alpha , retreated and took a different way home , came home about 8 minutes after me , going through the deep woods, She lay by me out doors shaking for 30 minutes. and never goes down there without me or my family , none of the 3 dogs left do .

as a kid i liked black jaguars a lot and even made a sculpture of one out of clay and painted it and all. i dont know why i guess they just look cool but i also think its symbolic of my life being so much hell on earth and finding Gods love through suffering it all. Yeh... teamwork. Overwhelming... with numbers. Just like canines. I swear this is the pivotal difference between the Feline vs Canine battle. I've never seen a canine taking down a beast 3 times its size by itself.
I've always loved Jaguars theres something in them that makes me want to freaking own one! I have a black cat, he's a little bigger than average cats, and I named him Toothless.
I like them too, but those are not little house cats. you could just was easily become a part of menu as a snake or a deer in the jungle.

and the other family is Felinae (Feline) which have the smaller cats, house cats, cougars, cheeta, lynx, ocelots, etc. So you have, in general terms, the Panthers (big cats) and the Felines (small cats).

@soldierofvanity its not confusing at all. There are 2 families of cats, in general terms Panthers which are big cats and Felines which are small ones. Any big cat can be defined as a Panther because they fit in the Panther family. Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Jaguars, etc. Now most people don't call them Panthers because its confusing, so the term "panther" is usually kept to jaguars and leopards. If you found an albino leopard, or a white lion, you could call it a white panther.

@soldierofvanity yes, but it is also true that panthers can be born from spotted jaguars, therefore even though the panthers are stockier and etc... they are still of the same species and no once can say different.

They don't hunt crocs, they hunt caiman which are considerably smaller than most crocs. The only type of caiman comparable in size to the big crocs is the black caiman and jaguars don't go after fully grown specimen.

There are crocodiles living in the same ranges as jaguars and jaguars can and do attack and kill them. You can easily google: American crocodile C. acutus. This is a mostly Central American species, well known for being tolerant of brackish and marine conditions. It’s a large to gigantic crocodile
we have seen one of these huge powerful black cats on our farm deep along the river bottom in East Texas ... so scary . More than once.

@@oscarspark2396 nothing I am a zoology major and a medical doctor, a surgeon , who teaches also at a medical school . Read the book by Micheal Mayes "Shadow Cats, the Black Panther( in Texas" . Yes, they are here. He has visted here often, is a friend now . We have the ideal habitat, and have seen it twice and heard it multiple times as have our nieghbors. we live backed up to a wild river Bottom area. with 1500 acreas of wild uninhabited land , deep large hardwood forests over 100 years old, with thick underbrush, a big river with lots of wild hogs and deer their favorite food in the world.
