Facts... when you play the game, only off frame data, you limit your options because you "know" it's a bad decision... yet when your opponent plays like that and you have random moments, they tend to work because it's unexpected.
Correct, being random is considered now in Fighting games bc players are so data focused that they all resort to the same playstyle & options. It’s also an excuse for when they lose an exchange to put the blame on their opponent as “random”, like when did tricking your opponent into doing something become bad? Lol You’ll see this in Older FG’s (especially SF) where options are limited, so you can’t be predictable or you’ll get washed. Especially with game with one frame links, gl trying to win with at a high level with just confirms or shimmy’s, but SFV players think this all footsies is.
@@DelaDaGawd true , I used to not know or give frame data much respect but it's like a game of paper scissor, rock.. knowing that will defo allow you to win more exchanges

In case you didn’t know, Balrog, Vega, and Bison all have their names switched around in Japan. In Japan, the Balrog we know was named M. Bison, the Vega we know was named Balrog, and M. Bison is named Vega. In order to avoid confusion in diverse competitive settings, the three of them are referred to internationally as Boxer(Rog) Claw(Vega) and Dictator(Bison). This whole thing happened as a result of the Boxer, who was visually based off of Mike Tyson (Bison rhymes with Tyson and the M most likely stands for Mike). Capcom didn't want to get into legal trouble with Mike Tyson when they exported SF2 to the US, so they gave the Dictator the name Bison to cover it up.
@@b0nejuic3 I knew this before I even started playing Street fighter seriously, lmao. Most Street Fighter veterans will be able to school you on its history.
why block when modern capcom games are designed around preset strings and character match ups. the old rock paper scissors system behind the games is long gone. now its just the first to get into their presets, seriously its why street fighter hasent been fun since the 3rd strike and alpha era.
That's how you'd think it works when in reality at high level it's nothing like that. I always use problem x vs tokido as an example. Both of them stealing huge turns due to the other player knowing what the block string should be but they don't. You know the safe string ends in psycho blast so you don't press....but he uses down forward heavy and starts his whole string again. Unless you're watching specifically for a pressure reset you won't react to that. And if you expect it to reset but it doesn't and you press a button you're getting clipped. It's not about safe strings it's about abusing those strings and changing them into non-safe ones as often as you can.
@@phase_1471 i can appreciate that its the same design and playstyle that was at the core of the early high combo games from capcom like the marvel games and has been central to 3D fighters like virtual fighter and tekken since the start, not street fighter. you are correct tho so maybe the current stuff is just not for me 😞. ill stick with classic SF otherwise i can go to the other franchises for that kind of challenge. one drop or counter in VF and you get cooked now thats a game with pressure and execution. thanks for letting an old arcade head vent , and your smart civil reply to my online bitching fit. 😄

Urien vs G is definitely one of the greatest matchups in the series' history.
That and Ken vs Balrog in my opinion.
@Taelin Cusic yeah those are sick matches. Ryu vs Ken will always be legendary (and with the Akuma/Guile variant).
Akuma vs Kage is great too.
That chin li player said “I’m not blocking John and you can’t make me” lmfaoo
“Nobodies blocking”
2 second later: “Ryusei tried to use a defensive option but got blown up” 😂
Nothing is more entertaining than watching a Urien player at the highest level!
Uhhhhh, what is this from 04:31 because I definitely want to check that out
Hopefully sf6 is also on xbox so I can be in the sf6 players are dumb video 20 years from now
Lets hope! hopefully the game is on all platforms with cross play, bring all the player base together!
