"While We Sleep" by Insomnium from their stellar record Shadows of a Dying Sun! Another favorite band of mine, Ville/Markus consistently write some of the most beautiful melody lines you'll hear and they are a huge influence on my songwriting.
The solo is on point. Much more than the covers of some "big channels" I checked out. Very accentuated and not blurry. Super nice job!

Fuckin Awesome. 3 years ago, I don't knew this band. But deezer suggest me this song in flow. Actually, I started to try learn guitar. And I resolve to do this to play songs like this. This song is very beautiful melodically and this solo sounds with a great charge of feeling and technique together. Your execution is really impressive. If you record this song in 1080p60, I can learn it only seeing you video in a half speed.

Thanks man! I did learn it by ear but I’d be more than happy to help with any questions you have! Try your best to learn by ear first though and you’d be surprised what you can figure out on your own :)
I'm taking your advice and trying to learn what I can by ear, some of it I have to look at the video for reference though :P When you first started learning songs by ear did it take you quite a while to begin with? I guess what I'm asking is, is it something you kinda get the hang of doing? Some things come easy enough to me but others I just can't work out... I'm hoping I'll get better at it over time :/ Thanks again for the advice and the awesome playing :)
Yeah it's definitely something that'll be tough at first but there's no way to develop it without just practicing it! You'll get better and better as you get more experience with it and soon enough there'll be nothing you can't learn by ear :) Do you have a program that can at the very least slow down audio files? It's very hard to transcribe things at full speed sometimes, especially guitar leads
I think I have a program that'll do that. What I've been trying so far is listening to this video (as it's a guitar cover and a bit easier to hear the guitar parts) and just setting the speed of the video from .25 - .5 and trying just to listen without actually watching :) Thanks so much for the help and encouragement, I really appreciate it! :D

I'm struggling with that last part of the solo. I'm someone who usually learns songs by ear and that part is really hard to 'hear out' :D
Yeah I remember back when I learned this, that part was pretty messy in the studio recording. It seemed like there was an edit point in the middle of the lick and he didn’t hit it perfectly precisely to begin with haha. I think I just tried to do what I thought Markus was most likely intending to play
