    I stumbled upon your channel looking for reviews on this heater. So sorry for your complicated life situation. My outdoors loving wife experienced a medical accident in 2009 that left her bedbound and in immense pain. She passed just before thanksgiving 2024. I am gearing up for nomad life in 2025 seeing the places she would have loved to experience. Glad you are making your best life. BTW, love the van name!

    thank you So much I got one of the exact same heaters from camping World and I got the cord and I got a big propane tank and I was a little reluctant to just bluff my way through it or try to understand the instructions and watching you do. it was so cool and I think I'm going to get the elbow too. I'm in a little bit smaller van than yours but it's Southern. Maine Winters can be 10 or 20 below and I don't want to count on the van engine heater all the time.

    My friend Scott at "StaticCamperVan" has been using one for 7 years now. He just got a second one from a follower and posted a update. He specified that a catalytic heater does NOT heat the air but radiates heat to thing's/ people. He also has his mounted on a TV mount so he can spin it out of the way when not in use. I had one on my houseboat 10 years ago. I would not leave it on overnight and make sure you have a good CO2 alarm. The pilot flame actually has an oxygen sensor and will shut the pilot flame off if the oxygen level gets low. Thank You for your post. Cap'n Rick, Port of Lewes, Delaware

    My van is not a high top and I'm full time. Just sold my never used brand new Cheap Chinese Diezel heater to switch to a Wave 3 but may consider a Wave 6. Ive been saving for a trailer to pull also and the Wave 3 may not be enough unless I create a curtain separation between my bedroom and my office space in the trailer? I would like to run a small fan to distribute the heat to circulate also so in the long run I think the Wave 6 is best? The trailer I'm wanting is about 21 to -30ft. In fact, not even a 30ft. Maybe, 24 or 26.

    • @JustRollWithUsOfficial
      @JustRollWithUsOfficial  Рік тому

      Yes get a Wave 6 if you can...it would be worse to not get enough heat distribution. The Wave 3 is perfect in my Ram Promaster high top which is under 20 feet. I run it mostly on low. You may need to run it on high in something much bigger but it would probably still work.

    Thank you for the demo. I have a 10' bumper tow trailer that I am researching for heaters. My biggest problem with various propane heaters I've tried is high moisture released. How does this do for moisture? If you come in from a wet day of hiking, are you able to dry things? Thanks!

    I think you may have the filter on the wrong end; where you have it you're only filtering the fuel coming out of the tank, not the fuel going through the extension line; that rubber tubing releases what needs to be filtered out before going to your Wave3.

      @garypotter5569 I don't know that you can. Doing it that way is soooo much more expensive anyway. With those green cannisters costing about $5 each, we can refill this entire small propane cannister that holds 5 of the green cannister for the same price as one of them. I have a Wave 3 for my small trailer camper. Any propane combustion is going to produce water vapor as a byproduct regardless. But at this scale, a properly sized heat output, even on the coldest nights well below freezing I would say it is manageable. There will be some, there is no way around this. In the desert or dry climes this probably doesn’t hurt anything.

    Hi Tanya🙋🏻‍♀️

  • @cathrynmartin4395
    @cathrynmartin4395 3 місяці тому +6

    Just an FYI...having airflow from a window that's about face-height doesn't make it "safe" to have a propane tank inside your vehicle. Propane gas, if the tank has or develops a leak, will be AT/ON THE FLOOR as it is heavier than air. So if you have a dog in the van with you, your dog will asphyxiate on propane gas that has replaced all the oxygen in that lower area. BE SURE TO HAVE A GAS MONITOR DOWN LOW, NEAR BASEBOARDS!!! Just trying to ensure people are aware and remain as safe as possible...

    • @JustRollWithUsOfficial
      @JustRollWithUsOfficial  2 місяці тому +2

      Thanks for the idea to put my monitor at floor level. We have one but it is higher up. At this point, we have been using it for 3 winters and it has been very safe. There are tons of people that have to store propane inside their vehicles. Think of everyone living in cars, SUVs, minvans, etc. I love the constructive comment. I am definitely going to an update video and will include it 😘~ Tanya

    • @mr.monitor.
      @mr.monitor. 2 місяці тому

      The tank is the safest part of the system vs. the hoses and appliances connected to it. Having them outside the trailer is for convenience more than safety as they are very unlikely to leak.

    • @JustRollWithUsOfficial
      @JustRollWithUsOfficial  2 місяці тому +2

      @mr.monitor. I get it but not everyone has that option. Think of people living in cars, SUVs, minivans, & even our van, there is no place for a tank outside the van/vehicle. Only RVs are equipped that way. Millions of people travel & cook inside their vehicles with propane. We understand there is a risk. Thanks for your input.

      @Vera-xu3xw 29 днів тому +1

      You should build a sealed box for your propane tank and vent it through your floor. (That's what I did.
      As for having a detector near the floor, that's a great idea too.
      Can't have too many detectors.

    Your viewers need to be warned. There is a problem that you are not mentioning. When burning propane, approximately 0.81 gallons of water is produced as a byproduct per gallon of propane burned; meaning for every gallon of propane used, roughly 0.81 gallons of water vapor is created through combustion. Ask me how I know it is a problem. In short my RV roof fell apart and had to be replaced. Warm moist air softened the glue holding the OSB wood panels together. Non vented propane heaters of any brand or size create the aforementioned problem.

    • @JustRollWithUsOfficial
      @JustRollWithUsOfficial  Місяць тому +1

      @wally1957 it is vented through the windows that are open per the manufacturers recommendation. An inch of venting of each front window, which is each 16 inches wide, creates enough vent/air flow/cross ventilation. It's the same thing with Mr. Buddy heaters except the Wave Heaters produce way less condensation. I never have any condensation inside the van at all, using this heater & I have been using it for 3 years now. I also have a MaxxAir fan above the bed that I can also vent out if I need to but have never needed to use it for this purpose 🤷‍♀️

Can't you just scroll on by if you don't like something? Or actually watch the video before leaving a comment? Our channel is a van life vlog channel, not an unboxing & review channel.
