Currently on 5s, almost 2 year abuse, my bluetooth, wi-fi & hotspot ruined, several of my colleague unit broken faster then mine, now i have doubts to move for another rog
meanwhile rog phone 2 here fully working with no problems at all XD only problem is to get screen protector glasses these days :P

I use the whole screen. honestly I love the approach for minimalism. I had the rog phone 2 and it was a blast. Me personally, ROG ruined the phone by including the hole punch. A company who is dedicated to making a phone would rather put something that would get in the way lol. But thats just me. Just feels like those types of blindness you see on ads sometimes. Praying they get rid of the hole punch soon 🙏

This phone is a joke. I mean come on, this design is not what gamers are looking for. I have ROG Phone 6 Pro and I though I might replace it but definitely not with the ROG8. I just hope either they make an ultra version later on which would look better or I hope the 9 will be back to a proper Gaming look.

This generation is clearly marketed towards a broader audience rather than just hardcore "gamer" nerds. I like the design of this generation, because I've been on the ROG 1 since 2019 and am looking to upgrade, but the new generations are so big and impractical that ROG 8 is looking tempting. I just don't like the punchhole in the middle, but you can't have everything.
And the trigger with only 2 buttons sucks, wtf why Not 4?!?!?!????
Very minimalist design. Not really a fan, but 24GB RAM & 1TB storage 🤤 i wonder is the cooling better than the 7 Ultimate without the open portal. & what else is new with it & also battery life considering its 500mAh smaller. Looking forward to your review video bro!
watch the explanation at the CES event where the phone was announced. They said cooling is way better.

Its such a shame they ruined the speakers. They sound absolutely awful now. Tiny, whiny and without any bass at all.

Nope.
Only complaint is that the cooler lost that speaker lol i wanted one badly.
Isn't it just an extra subwoofer on the cooler for the ROG 7?
@optimusaaron yeah just added a little more bass to the sound. Heck my 5s pro sounds just fine with movies, just thought it would make it even better.

I think I know what happened here.
The RoG Phone team got overshadowed by the RoG Ally and handheld PCs in general.
Without as much resources, they decided to go a bit more cookie cutter with questionable decisions like the holepunch camera and lesser battery capacity.
It'a a shame.
The previous ones had fun gimmicks like an attachable controller, a mechanized venthole, or even a subwoofer in the aeroactive cooler.
This one is just lame. All you get is the phone and the cooler.

Now that there is the new Rog8, when will we be able to have the privilege of natively playing tripleAAA titles, such as for iPhone15pro, RE4, RE village, etc.? Make contact with the most important software houses and show its strength in terms of gameplay. Otherwise it makes no sense to take a lot of money and play crazy games!!!
Someone needs to make a gaming phone that doesn't have the "gamer aesthetic." Looks childish and all the cases for these phones are transparent and/or open so that it shows off the silly RGB gaming aesthetic styling.
They also shouldn't spend 20$ on the packaging. Just focus on increasing performance in gaming instead of giving the perception that it's increasing gaming performance.

Absolute Enttäuschung (meine Meinung) unspektakulär/langweilig, cooler mit nur 2 tasten?!?!? Why??? Jedesmal wird von besserem Kühlsystem geredet... Sorry das hab ich weder beim 3er noch beim 6D Ultimate gespürt so heiß wie die werden/wurden trotz Aero-cooler
