@@simplyshama Yeah, But a house is everywhere expensive. You have to work and Save really hard everywhere to buy a house. Just a small bit of advice from a Londoner. This video is alarming! Never move to a city you do not know and instantly buy a place. Especially in a city where every neighbourhood has it's own very distinct vibe. Move here, rent, ensure the area's vibe and transport works for how you want to live your life then commit. There's no reason to rush into a very expensive mistake. You're young and seem to want to enjoy the most of living in London but the fact you started your search in Croydon pretty much encapsulates how little you know about London and the realities of moving around the city after 11pm. Best of luck. I hope everything works out for you in this excellent city.
Love your editing babe 🤍 signing a lease to an apartment- the process is so difficult.. everything will fall in place for you. A firm believer that everything happens for a reason ✨
Ahhh Becca I’m so excited for you!! You’re definitely right when it comes to a 1 bedroom apartment - I have a 1 bedroom as well and as long as you can utilise your space, you can definitely make it a home! Wishing you all the best!! 🤍
How exciting Becca! I hope you get the apartment, it it doesn’t work out just know there is something better waiting for you.✨ That walk in shower was stunning, I can’t wait to see videos of you in your new home.
So obsessed with you and this journey! Your videos are so good! As someone who just moved to a new city I really relate to the apartment search struggle. But it’s so cool that you found a place you love!
I’m going to agree with some other Londoners, you want to rent and know the neighbourhood you are choosing well. Try Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf area. It has the view you would love, many new builds, safe place, 2nd zone. Probably close to your friends too. Just great deal overall and in your budget for both renting and buying
Washing machine should never be in the kitchen. I have seen many videos/ vlogs where most times in the UK the washer is in the kitchen. Imagine if it is in the kitchen where you have your food, counters and food prep areas and dirty particles from dirty clothes and other laundry goes on food items, counter tops and stove, etc. That us not cleanly. It is understandable if it's a small flat/apt and there is no other place to put it, then that's an exception. But in a house or larger flat/apt, the washer should definitely be in a separate area.
No girl, the washer in the kitchen is an England/Europe-Asia thing. Us Americans have a complete separate room for your washer and dryer. They were all nice, but like you there are non-negotiable items that I won’t compromise with when it comes to home ownership.
Omg so excited for you to move to london and into your flat!! Such a great vid!! Also I'm so surprised that you prefer the washing machine in the kitchen as opposed to a storage cupboard - is that bc you want more space for storage?
wow thanks for such a cool video! i loove to see how people from different parts of the world live. for ukraine, where I live, usually the requirements and looking of apartments are very different!
Havent you heard of the cladding/fire safety scandal? Every single new build in the UK is under review. Building regs haven't changed so they are still building flats without the necessary fire considerations. Buying new build in the UK is a HUGE gamble. Also, these videos only work if you actually list ALL of the locations.
EWS1 forms are required when you buy a property in a building over 18m now, so when she comes to purchase, the necessary checks will be done by the lender to ensure it meets safety regs - they don’t want to be left with an ‘un-sellable’ property in the case of repossession.
@@bekipeters2843 True, but the EWS1 assessment needs to be done every 5 years. And if building regulations change within that 5 year period you may not pass the next EWS1 assessment. So it remains a risk.

In most apartment houses the only rooms with water pipes are the bathroom and kitchen, so people put their washing machines there. If there is no room in the bathroom, the kitchen is the only option. Ahhh thank u!! Yes it is definitely a significant price difference from where I was before! But all depends on what you’re used to I guess ❤️

May I ask why not rent first if you’re not familiar with the area?
Yasss, hopefully everything goes well

Why are so many people triggered about a washing machine being in a kitchen? 😂 bit of a weird thing to get worked up about 🙃
🤣🤣🤣
So fun watching this lovely ❤️❤️❤️
Aw thank you!❤️❤️❤️
go food hunting next time too I would love to see that Bec!!
Wait I have never herd of buying an apartment I don’t think that exists where I live
Why is a dishwasher a hard requirement? It's super easy to install one if there is none.
A lot of the places we were looking at didn’t have space for one if they didn’t already have one! X
You sound so american. I know your Scottish, but i feel like 1/2 your accent sounds very american, have you ever lived there before?
Amazballs!
Croydon is absolutely fine - A Croydon resident
I always wait for you my darlo❤️❤️

Hello Becca 🤗
Hello!
I hope you didn’t buy before you’d been in London for a while. You would know what you were buying into
What is your accent??
Hello beautiful

Becca: For me, the washing machine should be in the kitchen
Me: What the fuck....
Do you not have laundry rooms in the UK??
no
Laundy rooms are not standard. Its luxury. Many houses and apartments in US also have the washing machine in the kitchen.

You are sweet and smart but please stop touching your hair.
You don't get naked in the kitchen and say "i'm gonna take a shower." So why do you (think) your washer and dryer should be in the kitchen?

Interesting video. The places you viewed were nice overall. You’re blessed to be in a position to buy at a young age. ✨
