Couple of rule clarifications for anyone interested some that would of potentially changed the game: Kennel card only goes into the deck if there are dogs are in the kennel. The blood bag tokens get discarded and drawn face down. You only reveal it if you use it for a blood test. (allows thing players to hide or discard good ones) If someone is in green suspicion they don't put out tokens in a contagion check. They still draw 1 of the other players. If you don't draw a token in a check(from another player being green suspicion) you do not move up the suspicion track. They will still move up track from grabbing one. So two green players won't do a check at all. No contagion checks are performed in the dormitory. Laid down characters do not participate in checks or encounters and you lay your character down when you enter the dorm Also end game to get on rescue helicopter would be during phase 4. It would of been after new Alien phase 3 and a round of movement encounters/contagion checks.
Interesting. The only thing that would’ve been different based on your clarifications though is that Carly & Sully wouldn’t have had an encounter in the dorm so they wouldn’t have had the tense ending. Otherwise I believe the rest I’d the game was functionally the same.
@@courtney-ray The other thing that would have changed is the aliens would have got to do something after being outed but prior to getting on the helicopter. Since I don't know the game I don't know if that would have possibly changed anything, though.
The rulebook is a mess and some of the rules have been "clarified" or "errata'd" and it isn't always clear why. I absolutely love the game but but I don't agree with some of these clarifications; I am going to keep playing with the dorm still doing a contagion check because I can't think of a good thematic or mechanical reason why you shouldn't.
@@maxwellcorbin4764 To my knowledge, Sully and Brooke are the only onscreen couple. I definitely know Blair has a boyfriend that's not Adam, I *think* Adam also has a girlfriend but I could be wrong. No clue about Laurie and Rosie but I doubt it

If you're new to the channel, it's understandable that you don't get why I described that moment as "wholesome" because it's more about who they are as personalities (played up a bit for the camera, because basically all of them are trained actors XD). Laurie is essentially the channel grump, and Rosie is prone to random (but hilarious) cloud logic, so the pair of them having fun at the expense of Adam's long explanation was just a great little friendship moment.

The ending for this one was fantastically tense. Great job to everyone. Sully played especially well; I genuinely couldn't tell if he had been infected or not.
You can tell when Carly is good because she’s sad about it. If she’s good then she’s sad and stressed and apologetic. As soon as she seems confident, she’s definitely evil.

Its much clearer to a viewer sure, but she stills behaves deppressed and apologetic when good, and balls to the walls no care in the world confident when evil. She only is unsure when they dont know exactly what to say and that is a universal about her not a good/evil split one. I know i have multiple little quirks that make noticing details like that much easier to me than a neurotypical person, and so am not surprised most of her fellow players can't distinguish these qualities when she plays BotC, but I can affirm they are still present and potentially readable to the most astute people readers.
Especially since it's the win condition of the traitor/monster. Usually they have to kill or convert everyone. That is probably the smartest win condition. Just lay low,, don't do much trouble until you can get away from the isolated place, then start snacking. And that applies not only to games but also to horror movies. How many monsters would've won if they just kept a low profile.

After being subjected to a game of Monopoly over Christmas, I finally understand Adam’s suffering. I never thought I would be happy that he reached his 22 wins until now
Fun fact, monopoly was originally designed to be not fun, it was supposed to teach people the issues with late stage capitalism, but the game made a bunch of money so they kept making the game
Remember that instead of playing a card from your hand, you can discard your hand and play one from the deck. It's risky, but better than a guaranteed sabotage, and Norris (Jon's character) can draw two from the deck and pick one.

This has got to be my favorite episode of No Rolls Barred thus far. Without spoiling the ending, that final debate and the tension throughout of the Thing's endgame being to make it on the helicopter was absolutely insane. 10/10, can't wait for 2023

After how well Carley had bamboozled everybody historically in BOTC (especially John), I'm surprised that final vote went through as easy as it did. A Christmas miracle!

I've only recently started watching this channel, but it's by far my favourite board game playing bunch. Adam makes a great, personable and knowledgeable host, and the kind of guy you'd be more than happy to spend time gaming with. The rest of the group seem great too. What an absolutely brilliant episode!
LOVE this episode - one of the best playthroughs yet.. however Carly’s constant talking over everyone and quarterbacking the entire game added so much time and took a lot of table talk away from the other players. Apart from that, thanks for an amazing year of content and can’t wait for the next 🎉

@@sierrahtims8595 Last week's BGC Adam was the only one wearing a Christmas jumper and there was a conversation about how Adam had brought the spider man one for Carley. Thus knowing it's Adam's if you didn't remember or watch that one. And I don't want to assume and I could be wrong, but a lot of little things and jokes lean towards them being together.
This is the best early birthday present a person could ask for. What a rollercoaster! The reveal of who the thing was, and that intense ending, had me on the edge of my seat. Board Game Club is always the best time of the week but this feels like a special one, definitely one I'll be revisiting a lot in the future for all the drama and to see little details I might have missed
This is my favourite episode of board game club so far! It would be awesome to see an episode with the thing coming out and causing massive carnage! Keep up the great work guys
Fun game :) Iirc, Sully was partially right on the first turn. He can be given the use card, use his ability, use helper to get one more damage token, then the helper can go to sleep instead of him. I remember it felt strange, but iirc that's how rules say. I don't remember who decides on that (who goes to sleep) though.
This last year i started getting into boars games and because of that i found this amazing channel! An amazing year of gaming and lets hope there are more to come. Hope one day i will ne able to play with you guys!

Holy 💩...all that was the best playthrough of this game EVER....and I'v seen all the playthroughs on social media.....Carly gets an award for being pulled like taffy at the end and not having a complete breakdown....🤣🤣🤣....you guys and gals nocked the 💩 out of that communication room just like in the movie....man this game delivers on every level the movie portraits.....A+ Pendragon.....great game gang I know you all won't forget it and I dare say I now have to become a Patron
My one humble suggestion NRB is that you should make it a "The Thing" trifecta and play "Who Goes There?". A Thing based board game that involves crafting, custom character skills and cool "infection clickers". Check it out!
@@mawillix2018Each character has unique skills they can unlock through learning points. Clark can unlock a dog companion, MaCready can unlock extra alcohol which means that he is better at surviving outside etc
I love how the best social deduction player is the one in the spotlight. However, I have worked out her tell and if you know it, you knew she wasn't lying at the end. If you want to know Carley's tell, it's when she's not telling the truth, she talks out the side of her mouth more.

This has got to be my favorite episode of No Rolls Barred thus far. Without spoiling the ending, that final debate and the tension throughout of the Thing's endgame being to make it on the helicopter was absolutely insane. 10/10, can't wait for 2023

I've only recently started watching this channel, but it's by far my favourite board game playing bunch. Adam makes a great, personable and knowledgeable host, and the kind of guy you'd be more than happy to spend time gaming with. The rest of the group seem great too.
What an absolutely brilliant episode!
LOVE this episode - one of the best playthroughs yet.. however Carly’s constant talking over everyone and quarterbacking the entire game added so much time and took a lot of table talk away from the other players. Apart from that, thanks for an amazing year of content and can’t wait for the next 🎉

This is the best early birthday present a person could ask for. What a rollercoaster! The reveal of who the thing was, and that intense ending, had me on the edge of my seat. Board Game Club is always the best time of the week but this feels like a special one, definitely one I'll be revisiting a lot in the future for all the drama and to see little details I might have missed

Fun game :) Iirc, Sully was partially right on the first turn. He can be given the use card, use his ability, use helper to get one more damage token, then the helper can go to sleep instead of him. I remember it felt strange, but iirc that's how rules say. I don't remember who decides on that (who goes to sleep) though.
Sitting at work bored out of my mind and then boom this popped up. The true Christmas miracle.

Holy 💩...all that was the best playthrough of this game EVER....and I'v seen all the playthroughs on social media.....Carly gets an award for being pulled like taffy at the end and not having a complete breakdown....🤣🤣🤣....you guys and gals nocked the 💩 out of that communication room just like in the movie....man this game delivers on every level the movie portraits.....A+ Pendragon.....great game gang I know you all won't forget it and I dare say I now have to become a Patron
My one humble suggestion NRB is that you should make it a "The Thing" trifecta and play "Who Goes There?". A Thing based board game that involves crafting, custom character skills and cool "infection clickers". Check it out!

@@mawillix2018Each character has unique skills they can unlock through learning points. Clark can unlock a dog companion, MaCready can unlock extra alcohol which means that he is better at surviving outside etc

I love how the best social deduction player is the one in the spotlight. However, I have worked out her tell and if you know it, you knew she wasn't lying at the end.
If you want to know Carley's tell, it's when she's not telling the truth, she talks out the side of her mouth more.
