The fact that this whole island with proper details is fully loaded in to the game is certainly good news as it should mean they can support a bigger map with their updated engine.
Considering that Hawaii is a lot more than just the main piece of land that Motorfest takes place on, I'm hoping they make full use of all of Hawaii, not just the central region.
They could either ways crew 2 on ps4 was massive
They could do even bigger with more stuff. Because the island is probably just the lowest LOD file possible, and loads the most detailed files when you're closer. But if it's loading, there are files, if there are files for this region, maybe they'll do something there
@@TheSilverShadow17The problem is that Oahu is the only Hawaii island that has dense civilization with roads and infrastructure, the others islands only have smaller towns, much smaller than Honolulu.
I think they will do the same kind of expansion they did for TC2 and just make these islands be Motorsports or Off-road based.
@@pedinhuh16 I believe that was their plan with the map expansion to begin with. I hope they eventually make some use out of the Big Island when Motorfest does cover all the islands of Hawaii not just Oahu.
I think it’s pretty obvious the other islands will be expanded to. I’d be shocked otherwise.
Maui’s road to Hana would be a fantastic addition as well as climbing Haleakala.
The Big island and an active volcanos to race through would be fun and another obvious choice.
I’m going to assume Lahaina burning down may create a bit of a conundrum for them though…that’ll likely make the Maui expansion something we get a couple years in.
But yeah, I just assumed the other islands would open up, each as their own expansion. I’d actually be very disappointed and let down if they weren’t.

I think there definitely is something to the fact that on island has "Default WIP" popping up, but I think the OTHER islands exist because they can probably generate terrain procedurally and with a boat and photo mode, they figure is cheap/easy enough to have good looking islands in the distance "just in case." Almost guaranteed that the vegetation isn't manually placed and are placed based on scans or some other rules-based system.
also mega Island is based on Maui
which also isn’t supposed to be the island in the bottom corner to Oahu, irl it’s Molokai, so interesting they picked the more popular island to put there

I was the one who told Sid about the Default WIP stuff, he mentioned the idea of test driving and since I was in game, I decided to check it out and confirmed it for him for both boats and planes.

The Crew Motorfest it's such a beautiful game and has a lot of potential, hope they don't waste any of that like other games do. That's right, I'm talking to you, FH5
If we look at TC2's current state, a game which had way less content and features on launch than Motorfest does now, I'm sure Motorfest will receive good updates too.

When you enter the island, not only is it very detailed, but it says in the right corner, “Default WIP”, or, “Default Work. In. Progress. So i think this could be a possible expansion if devs are working on this island.

I definitely think we're getting another island sooner than later. O'ahu is gonna fill up pretty quick if they add content at the same pace as TC2. I think we'll get the second island (small one to the north) by this time next year.

The islands. Plus there’s a part during the Japanese story line hints at some things too. While racing The leader of that group invites your character to come out to Japan sometime or something like that. Seems like they plan on expanding a lot.
It may have been made just been for background and the WIP name wouldn't NEED to be changed if players weren't able to access it. Or it could be some canceled content from a beta version. I would love to see another island or two though.

A map of expansion would indeed be great but I really do wish we had an option or they’ve made a few events back in America i love Hawaii no doubt but cruising around in LA ,NYC, parts In Texas driving from state to state made it relaxing and fun I hope back In the future of this game we can go back to the old map

It would be fun if some time down the line they could make the TC2 map available. They don't even need to do any reworks to it, I would just like to drive around it with the new physics.

They need a wreckfest type of mode in this game
This is my opinion of what they do with those areas as they are for now they probably use them for cutscenes for when we start races and events.😅 Not everybody knows but in the original crew out in the Pacific Ocean in the far bottom left corner are two versions of Las Vegas that are incomplete but what they are is mock-ups for the tuners for raid and monster trucks vehicles to appear to be outdoors with buildings from Vegas, the giveaway for what is really going on is the monorail that is directly above the raid in game version of that area of Vegas there's no monorail that goes over that area but there is a monorail in that area underneath the water in the bottom left corner of the game.theres two versions because both of the tuners are actually in the same place but one is for monster and the other is for raid and I believe there is a distinction on top of the tents at least for raid the one for monster may not say monster but since that show up in the raid.
There are several other smaller features in this area of the original game these are difficult to see but I believe they are exterior views of headquarters and tuners also used for cutscenes
If anybody wants to try to see these Las Vegas mock-ups in the original game they have to travel there no higher than the second level of elevation from the water lowest elevation who is best but the problem is you can't go down in elevation after you've passed the beach, so the travel time is quite long at lower second level elevation isn't as bad but the third level elevation will only show you postage stamp size objects 8:42
Btw Ubisoft actually did this with Ghost Recon Breakpoint in the past.

I think the island is way too big to be an update so soon after launch. If we see these big islands added i'd imagine it would be like a start of year 2 type thing.
Expansion better be free if I bought the $100 version

Right ? I wished for something similar to TD2, where you can invite people to your home and show them your garage, and also have the ability to decorate a little to gave somewhat of a unique atmosphere to your home. The Penthouse in TC2 was a great place, it just felt useless since you couldn't invite anybody in it.
The fact that the file size is half of the crew 2 we should get multiple islands

Almost 6 months later and still nothing about an expansion which we need we need more races that are more than 40k since all the cars are expensive and hopefully longer races similar to the Detroit and NY Race on The Crew 2

I’d be disappointed if they added one of them islands no roads, mostly tree covered and too many mountains but I’d be hyped iif they turn one into a elevated race track with maybe some through mountain tunnels and jumps
Obviously it’s WIP so they could do some deforestation and build some roads 😂
they may add roads, maybe they will use it for the Hoonigan update as a playground, because they said that they had a personal & special place for Hoonigan

Remember, this island will only be added if the game stays alive. Unlike Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which had a year 2 island cancelled.
The Crew 2 had a mediocre score on metacritic and a lot of bad ctiticism and is staying alivetill july 2024, motorfest has a lot of better reviews, so it 100% sure we gonna have content for some years
They went from a map that was too big to be detailed to a tiny map that is only slightly more detailed lol. Also the ghost cars are the most annoying thing I have ever experienced in a open world racer

Motorfest had a lot of content on launch. Definitely not a "half game". The Crew 2 on launch for example was very barebones.

Considering the downgrade in not only the map size from TC2 to this game, but also the FACT that TC2 IMO had the much better mountain roads ( the road that goes along the top of the map, and Sequoia forest are 2 good examples of roads with much more inclination and verticality that what Motorfesf has given us), I can only hope that there are new maps added to the game that are a)free, and b) offer more verticality in terms of asphalt roads, and actually let us drive to the tops of those mountains through tight and narrow ASPHALT mountain passes
Unless those roads exist on the actual Hawaiian island that's not happening if you look at the map expansions/motorparks on tc2 they're in locations that don't actually have anything irl, every location and road in motorfest escept for the festival grounds is almost 1-1 with the actual island of Oahu
