Why isn't everyone upset that used women insist upon wearing a "white dress" for their wedding? It's supposed to represent purity... which they lack. (not giving the men a 'pass' for dressing like bums, BTW)
I actually appreciate this list. I just lost a lot of weight and it's clear my wardrobe is going to need a little help in terms of what to wear and what not to wear. I am not fashion conscious at all and I caught a couple violations you pointed out here. Thanks.
I am a 60 year old man who, since my late teens, has made a point of educating myself about how to dress well. From the beginning, I purposely did not want to need the help of women or GQ in order to learn this important aspect of being a man. I write to compliment you on your list. It is good and simple advice. And even though I know that the order isn’t meant to signify importance, I do offer one suggestion. The one thing that I think should be emphasized, above all else, is the fit of a man’s clothes. It’s more important even than the quality of clothes. Your tailor, the person who makes alterations to your clothing is ten times more important than any brand you may ever wear.
Gary Segraves I’m afraid that we disagree; possibly because we understand women differently. I understand wanting women to like and be attracted to how we look. However, basically and importantly, women are attracted to confidence and self assurance. I don’t mean bravado which is the opposite. It’s biology and it is a women’s maternal instinct and responsibility to assure safety and stability for her offspring. Ultimately this means that women are the boss when it comes to determining whether we get to couple with them. But seeking a women’s validation is not being self assured and does not attract them. We, as men, have got to our own homework when it comes to dressing right. It’s not as much about learning rules, but more about learning how to be comfortable in our own skin. Going through this process is a series of making our own choices which naturally results in confidence. It’s not about the correct facade. It’s about exuding our inner strength, dependability and trustworthiness. We won’t find this by asking a women for her validation, nor even her two cents on the matter. We find our self assurance by doing our homework and relying on ourselves.
@@jamxtube you did not need to write all of that but I thank you regardless. I think it's sexy as shit when women talk about men and manly things. A woman KNOWS what's manly far more than a man does. Oh hell.....THEY KNOW! A lifetime of red hot women around me assures me of that.
Great to get this woman's perspective!! I think a lot of guys don't really put a lot of thought into what they are wearing or what woman might think of them. The only thing I don't agree with is number 8 and 10. Cheers!
I’ve watched more than a few of these style videos. Seems like everyone has the same list. It’s like the official cornball uniform. Trying to have us all looking like Best Buy managers.
Enjoying getting a female perspective on how guys should dress and carry themselves, going back to the way muscular men should wear there clothes, could you do a video that elaborates on that further, having quads that don't fit majority of pants I shop for because of the ratio of my waist, and shoulders and arms that don't fit most dress shirts without compromising the lower part of torso being too big and looking weird when it's tucked in I find it difficult to buy clothes sometimes. I'm sure a lot of people would benefit from a how to dress for certain body types from your channel, like overweight/skinny/muscular guys who have a hard time buying off the rack.
Thanks, Courtney. Great video. I was fortunate enough to have a daughter who was an asst. manager in a men's clothing store and she picked out clothes for me that were on clearance, and with her discount, I was able to acquire an excellent collection of sport coats, pants, shirts and shoes (6 pairs), 2 suits belts and other accessories. I've been a blue collar worker my entire working career so my normal wardrobe didn't contain any of these. I dont drink so no bars, not religious so no church. Finding places to wear them is a challenge. I deliver Uber Eats so I wear them for that which probably makes me one of the best dressed delivery drivers in my town. 😂😂

Great points....especially the one on ‘fit’. I recently dropped 25 pounds. All the tailored clothes that used to look so good on me now look ridiculous. Either have it tailored or go shopping. As you pointed out, fit trumps everything else.
You aren't talking me out of sneakers + jeans :D The trick is long "black" jeans and mostly black sneakers. I think they look great. Also, they're excelent for your health.
I used to think Teddy puts out the best quality content. Pleasantly surprised to discover that your content is just as amazing and tasteful :) Keep up the good work!
I agree to an extent. For instance, if you really “didn’t care” for what others say, you’d not wear a suit in formal situations. Moreover, this is not a video to “encourage” you to agree to what women say, but rather to consider it when you go out and meet a girl--like a reference. But, if you search for a girl that doesn't care much or at all about your looks, then go ahead, even though the odds are frankly not in your favor and you should embrace that beforehand.

@@RickDanner I assume Courtney will say that it may make you appear "older" than you actually are and/or lacking a sense of style. Personally, I think it depends on what kind of running shoes you are wearing. For example, I think Adidas NMD R1 Shoes can look solid with jeans and ESPECIALLY joggers. That said, I don't wear running shoes with jeans because I personally don't feel very confident with that look. Feeling confident with what you wear is extremely important!
I wear what I want to wear. I dress for comfort not to impress someone I care nothing about. If they don't like my faded blue jeans with frayed edges and a few holes. So be it!
Definitely thumbs up. I know there is a taboo about sandals and socks, but, assuming a reasonable combination, they can make the sandals more comfortable (less sweaty and blister-forming).
I thought that meant we were on her chanel! 😉 I really like my "H" belt which has not been the focus of any hate (yet). We all have that thing that we like no matter what. I thought I was doing so good with your list, right up until #10, lmao! Ok, ok . . . . . I guess it's time to finally retire the old cargo shorts. Thanks for another helpful and informative video 😁
A point about running shoes. I wear them everyday as casual shoes because it's rare that regular walking shoes are comfortable with my feet. I thik that's because of my slight flat footedness. I interpreted the shoe suggestion more like "don't wear flashy or obnoxious colors" because my shoes are usually black, so it's hard to tell that they're running shoes.
Thanks Courtney your opinion makes me think a little now, when I choose my wardrobe selection when I am going out in public. I am sixty one years old and still wear my psychedelic t-shirts and rock band clothes from the seventies. I will make a more thoughtful selection from now on. But I will still wear my cool stuff when tooling around my shop and mowing the grass, ok. Love You. I would like to see more of you too.
I agree with you on all of these things. Took me a while to realize that #4. Flashy Brand Logos aren't necessary. I like fancy things and owning them makes me happy personally, but I also felt like I was trying too hard to impress people with big/excessive branding. After watching one of your recent videos with Teddy, as the first step towards remedying the issue, I'm selling my Louis Vuitton monogram backpack and using that money to purchase a Loewe puzzle backpack! Less is more! Keep it up on the amazing content!
Amazing! That’s great to hear. Oh my.. that Loewe puzzle backpack is a dream! A much better piece to own that the Louis 😏 thank you so much for the support and for the comment! totally loved this!
I wear black jeans with an ironed out plaid shirt, that seems to keep women interested beyond the first date. I hated to admit that my clothing was holding me back but it is the truth. I think a lot of guys struggle with dating because they are so unaware of simple style tricks. It really can make the difference between making out and getting laid compared to a date that goes no where. If you look good and your self-esteem is high, she's more likely to accept you sitting closer to her and that can lead to flirting and the rest is history LOL
I wear everything this video recommends not to wear, and I don't give a damn if women like it or not. Incidentally, I never have a problem attracting women.
Only times I've ever done that was riding bikes, driving with the t-tops out, when drunk,or when shooting a scoped rifle. And the rifle, bike and t-tops is only because I'm bald on top and sunburn very easily! Drunk, just cuz!!!!
I like how you approach the info, not judging but trying to give advice to clueless men with no sense of style. I tend to agree with all of it. I wear cargo shorts all the time fully aware most women apparently don't like them, and I'm ok with that too. One should not dress to make others happy, but you give good advice for those men interested in making a good impression on the ladies. On the wear stuff that fits, you didn't mention the current trend of wearing stuff that looks like it would fit their baby sister several sizes too small even though it's obvious they don't workout at all. Not just a trend for muscular guys. I don't know how most women (vs girls...) view that popular look, I think they look terrible.
Cargo pants are perfect for vacationing, going on trips. You have a bunch of pockets for phone, camera, charger cord, coin purse, wallet, comb, sunglasses, sunscreen, tour guide book, , snacks, gum, note pad with pen/pencil for writing things down, etc. Otherwise you have to carry around an extra bag or the dreaded man purse.
In addition to the 6 pockets of cargo shorts, when i am travelling i like to wear a "Guayabera shirt"- those tropical Latin American shirts that a worn outside of the pants and containing 2 breast pockets and 2 pockets just below those pockets, down near the beltline. That gives me a total of 10 pockets!
So Cargo Khaki Designer Billboard Pants with Neon DEEEP V-neck Polyyester Shirt with 10 pounds of bling wearing flip flops with winter socks oozing with cologne is a no no?..... WTF? I subscribe!
I was ghosted on my date last night. Even though it was her idea and she gave me her number she decided to crush me and not even say why. You should make a video of how ppl should feel and how they should react when the worst dating scenario happens.
You should feel hurt and react by sending her a text saying that was extremely rude. Then let yourself feel bad for as long as it lasts. Cry if you have to. Be angry. What you shouldn't do is bottle up your emotions and try to rationalize and pretend you don't care. Your brain needs to feel those emotions so it can learn how to get through them. So if it happens again, it won't hurt as bad as it did the first time. Eventually it won't even bother you or hurt your self esteem. Every rejection will make you better and stronger if you deal with it the way nature intended. This goes for all bad things in life. Our emotions are a powerful tool and they shouldn't be ignored
A large t-shirt fits me perfectly, but I like an XL because clothes shrink. I get XL so i can wear the shirt for the rest of my life if needed or desired. I especially get XL for really cool band shirts. And since my stomach doesnt bulge out, an XL doesnt make me look like I have a pot belly.

I basically came out okay on this one. I lift a lot and like to wear tighter shirts, but I’ll let that go. Have to say something about the cargo pants, though. I basically live in Dickie’s work cargos. They fit me like a glove, plus the functionality trumps everything. You could basically drop me in the woods and I’ll be okay. I have knives, various fire starting items, tools, etc at all times. These aren’t baggy pants making me look like a kid from the 90’s either. All women have different types/taste.

I knew a girl whose husband wore cargo shorts and a polo at their wedding. The groomsmen even matched him. It was a second marriage for both of them but she was still upset that she wore a white dress and he looked like a 42 year old frat boy.
Thanks.
Any TMF Boys here?? Jose did a video about this, literally about everything!

I always wanted to get women's advice because....they are the ones who know what looks good on a guy.
If THEY like something, I wanna know about it!
facts
Cheers!
The way she delivered the line "50 holes in underwear" without laughing is commendable 😂😂😂
Wholly Smokes, Batman!
If your in the position where she can see your underwear you are probly doing ok!
Also if there’s racing stripes it’s a bad idea to go on a date where your partner might see them.
I’ve watched more than a few of these style videos. Seems like everyone has the same list. It’s like the official cornball uniform. Trying to have us all looking like Best Buy managers.
What are you talking about? Most of them just say don't dress like an idiot.

@Leo Montgomery You are welcome! I am glad it helped.

Nice job Courtney. You have a nice manner and your delivery is friendly and authentic.... I agree with all 10.
Definitely thumbs up. I know there is a taboo about sandals and socks, but, assuming a reasonable combination, they can make the sandals more comfortable (less sweaty and blister-forming).

I wear 'cargo pants' because it comes with my territory. I'm good with that.
it's good to watch alpha m but i think that her videos are equally important. they are just relaxing to watch.
A good list. Gaining weight and refusing to buy new clothes was my problem. Nothing quite like looking like a sausage to impress the ladies!
Solid advice. Sandals, flip flops, and either of those with socks are repulsive.
We need her to also list ugly ugly flannel and fedoras next!!! Burnable lol

Super helpful. It can be so easy for men to build a decent, easy to maintain wardrobe and classic masculine looks seem to stay consistent.

I wear what I want almost all the time. That's being authentic n I'm ok with all dislikes.
