- The Indian government gears up for a shift from existing highway toll plazas towards a GPS-based toll collection system in the country. This system is already operational on select highways like the Mumbai-based Atal Setu, & scans moving vehicles' number plates and automatically deducts tolls from linked bank accounts. Unlike FASTags, which require vehicles to slow down at RFID scanners, the GPS system eliminates the need for stopping altogether. The Cameras equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology capture licence plates on the go, ensuring seamless toll collection without any traffic bottlenecks. Watch & Share!

How is this GPS based when the only change is Automatic recognition of number plate of car via high speed camera?

My worry is...on the one hand a good highway almost equal to a runway is provided for fast, safer and clean move. But while cars, trucks and buses coming in each day are capable of moving faster than the new conventions Cab Min has provided, it is time the unsafe vehicles with incompatible tyres for the given speed and weather conditions, or vehicles with worn off tyres, may be brought under check or safer still, be banned from these roads. They are a threat to those driving with proper condition vehicle.
My second worry is, it will now be EASIER to get speed check. Be it software based monitored system, satellite based monitoring or drones based system. Given that time is of immense importance and safety even more, if above to points are discussed and solution found for safer and faster travel, it would be worthwhile. Why not safer autobhan. YES, a need is also there for roadmanship and driving skills for correct and safe driving be followed. Vehicles now MUST be checked and re-checked and re-re-checked with follow up on poor vehicle or dangerous vehicles and drivers be taken of road.
Some people feel one is monitored or privacy is likely to be lost. WHY? Unless a decision to do a wrong thing without leaving foot-prints is one's idea, well, it is time one needs to change oneself.
Most of the clips used in thsi videos are not from Indian Highways, and mostly some arbitrary random foreign highways ? Are you now making videos using AI or what ?
