Absolutely love your videos. Probably the only place where I can truly understand the game within the game. Too bad the NFL network shut down NFL Playbook.
Oh man. I love all of your videos. It's like if one of my own friends wanted to take the time to explain the little intricacies. Keep up the great work!
I can only imagine how great these vids will be once you're able to do this full time...I've watched every video, and you've got something special here for sure. I would LOVE to see you breakdown the Panther's run game the physicality and athleticism involved is crazy...keep up the great work, and good luck!
Stopped at 2:11 Yes, totally agree on the whole press man cover CB thing. I remember when he went up against Jalen Strong in college and there was a play where he punches with the correct hand, pins him to to the sideline and gives him no room to get around peters. I was curious why the Chiefs used Peters as an off ball CB considering when he did play off, he didn't backpedal very much and often used the 3 step shuffle technique instead at Washington. Amari Cooper is so gifted as a route runner and with his short area quickness that he's going to have an absolute field day with Peters playing off because Peters doesn't have the kind of backpedal and short area quickness (he doesn't lack it but in this particular situation playing on Cooper is a huge mismatch, quickness wise) to play on Cooper when playing off.
Coming from an Atlanta fan, can you explain why Atlanta's defensive coaching staff kept putting Jalen Collins in press man alignments throughout the postseason, but then have him not get his hands on the receiver? It was really bugging the hell out of me during the Super Bowl. Also, congrats on 12,000 subscribers!
I'd be curious to see a video that goes into your process for making these videos. I always love seeing behind the scenes. I know a lot of people, or channels, only do that once they have gotten bigger, but I would still love to see that someday.
your channel has to be one of the best football resources on the tube... would be interested in seeing a breakdown of a really dominant DE, say Watt or Wilkerson.
Yeah, the reason is he had a good season. You want me to name some players that had good seasons and were All-Pros as a result? Dashon Goldson, Jairus Byrd, Alterruan Verner, etc. If you think Norman is a true lock down corner you clearly don't know football. He has more weaknesses than any of the big contract corners that I can think of
I never said he was bad. He's just not very good. He's certainly not top 2 at his position (like being an all-pro would imply-- I will say he's a great zone corner though). But Kollman doesn't make highlight videos and if Norman had all of his plays broken down it wouldn't be pretty
10:50 Carr again makes the right read, Linebackers DROPPED back into coverage which is an easy gain of at least 5 to his primary check down. No way Carr was going to make a throw on Peters who was playing press on that play. Pocket also closes quickly.
Good stuff as usual Brett. Tbh, was a little surprised to hear that Johnson and Peters were your #4 and #5 overall pre-draft prospects. Would you mind sharing your top 25? Also would love to hear your thoughts on the 2016 as class as well (Ramsey vs Hargreaves etc) Hope you had Darby in there somewhere! 😎
I don't know how I came across your videos but I'm glad I did lol. How do you know so much about technique and stuff? Where you a former player or you've coached before?
Cause he's still relatively new to the position, he's playing on a very weak defense, and he's still a bit undersized. Him getting pressure his rookie year is a good sign. If I was a betting man I'd bet he's in for a big year
+Jimbo Fisher I think the Falcons defense being "very weak" is a little exaggerated, but aside from that, those things are all true. It also seems like he gets held an awful lot, but in many cases it isn't called. He's frustrating to watch cause you can see the potential, but not the production.
Their defensive line doesn't have any play makers outside of Vic, its easy for teams to just slide protection to Vics side and single block everyone else on the line. Should be interesting to see if he develops some better pass rush moves. The Falcons have had 30-32nd Pass rush in the NFL so its more than fair to say their front is very weak.
love the analysis, you are really impressive, I just subscribed. take it easy with the swearing though, it really adds nothing to the awesome job you do.
Great vid, I'd love to see your thoughts on Dak Prescott's pre-season, I have never seen a rookie qb look so polished(And so much improved from what they looked like in college ).
Nice look at the rookie season matchup. How about this last year? You know, when the Raiders scored like a combined 15 points and Peters was 1st team all-pro??
Great video. Surprised Chiefs still haven't figured out how to properly use Marcus Peters yet. For your next video, can you breakout Dak Prescott's two preseason games to see whether he is legitimately good or just riding on easy preseason games?
I feel this is very similar to Revis this year. We were promised that his wrist was better and he could press wr's once again. And all I'm seeing is Revis line up 10+ yards off the wr and giving up easy quick slants and out routes all game. I know they're afraid of Revis getting burnt over the top, but that seems to be happening anyway. I'd much rather see him in press coverage again, because I still feel like he can have some success in this league with that.
Having played corner and receiver against Peter I can attest to his heavy back feet when he back pedals in HS anyways . But he has great acceleration to compensate . Strong too for his size
10:35 Carr had no chance to make that outside throw to the right with Bailey and houston closing in on him. That play hasn't even developed yet. Come on dude.
Great video as always. Look at Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess, the Vin Towers. At some point this season they will get your attention. Never been a starting WR duo like those two. Panthers passing game is going to surprise people this year.
+Merrick Cassian I think he's referring to the fact that both are 6'5 big bodied recievers. The closest there is to that is to that right now is Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker
+Harry Douglas I mean V-Jax is past his prime. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are two big bodied possession recievers that Benjamin and Funchess can hope to emulate
Yaz Obeidallah Marshall and Decker are 6'4 and 6'3 so the better comparison would be the two 6'5 receivers from the Bucs considering that Benjamin and Funchess are 6'5
keenan allen vs peters for after the game! or melv ingram plz, also i wanna say, since i haven't donated anything but plan to in the future, i would like to leave you a decent compliment. And also im sure you get annoyed by constantly having requests, so i hope this offsets it a little. Your videos are such a treat, as someone who watches footbal as much as he can and plays madden a fair amount, i like to understand things that the nfl doesnt always just lay out for you, ive been getting really into defense for madden and i will admit i dont know much of anything technically, but its coming along. Being a laymen, i become enamored with your videos because you present them in such a way that makes the point or topic you are bringing about become effectively communicated; but more importantly than being educated, is that i feel as though i am being entertained. Excellent analysis. Cooper was open a lot. I am a Raiders fan and I'm very frustrated seeing Cooper so wide open and Carr not throwing to him but I don't blame Carr. The fact is that Crabtree caught everything that was thrown to him last year and Cooper dropped pass after pass. You, as a fan watching the game, knew that you couldn't trust Cooper to catch the ball. Doesn't matter how open you are if you can't catch the ball. And you see the result - Carr not throwing the ball to a wide open Cooper. I'm hoping Cooper hit the Juggs machines really hard this off-season. And that number of drops that ESPN quotes - 10 - is way, way low. You know they give players a big benefit of the doubt. PFF had him dropping 18 which I think is way low too. Just in the throws you showed in this video I counted three that should have been caught but were dropped. He has a chance to be a great player. But his hands look pretty bad. I've already seen him drop a couple of passes this summer. Same old same old. I'm glad that Carr has reached to become buddies with Cooper but as the leader of this team, he'd better in Coopers grill about the drops. They simply are killing our offense.
In college, Cooper would get the yips during a game every now and then, but it was really rare. Here's hoping he comes around. Best receiver I have ever seen at Alabama and the includes Julio Jones.
Love the video like always I'm recommend for next video college who do you think will be best in draft and for hiesmen christaun maccafery or lenneord fourrnet two great running backs or Jason verret vs antonio brown just saying but i love your videos alright
It's funny that you call out the coaching staff with Peters and his lack of press man back in 2015. I really feel that he was traded because they wanted him to be in press man more often, but he wouldn't play the technique. Many times in this video, when you mention him playing off, if you notice, when Smith is on the other side, he is almost always in press alignment. Sutton's defense is built around press man, and I believe they drafted Peters because of his ability to press in college. Peters is very good at reading the receiver's stem and QB to get jumps on routes and make big plays; that combined with his apparent fear of being beat deep makes me think he was free-lancing and playing off more than he was supposed to. I have a feeling that the reported arguments he had with his position coach possibly stemmed from him doing his own thing and they eventually traded him because they didn't want to commit to him long-term considering him (potentially) being unwilling to run the scheme, combined with his off-field issues. If one were to go back and chart how all corners have been used under Sutton since he's been in KC, my theory is, they would see that Peters has played far more off alignment than anyone else. Why would you draft a guy that was known as a press corner in college to play in a system that relies on press alignment, and then play him in off coverage the majority of the time?
Hey Brett I have a question for you with this much knowledge about the game how come your not on a Nfl team as some type of coach or on the Nfl Network? Anyway great work buddy.
Hey Brett, I think all your videos are awesome. So I figured I'd comment on my favorite one. But I just thought I'd tell you, I haven't watched ESPN, and rarely watched NFL Network for years. It's just awful content. While I've been sharing your videos with my friends, my hook is always, "if ESPN was good, this is the shit they'd be doing." You're fucking killing it dude. Keep it up. Also, if you're a fan, Obi Melinfonwu would be a sweet breakdown. But that's comin from a raider fan haha
You would think these coaches and defensive coordinators at the highest level know their players strengths and weaknesses. Especially when you draft them in the 1st round.
This is when Hudson was hurt right? which would explain why Carr was antsy. I seen so many times cooper was open last season for Carr to not look his way. I hope he looks at Coop after a off season of tape! Carr's go to us Crabtree as of now.
I am a Riaders fan and I was at that game and looking back at it now yeah that does kinda piss me off that Carr missed those reads those probably cost us the game. I cant stand the Chiefs
this was a really good video and truly breaks down what is really going on. As a Raider fan I would love to see a breakdown like this about Sean Smith and why he was good with the Chiefs and is not so good with the Raiders. your explanation about Marcus Peters being a press corner was very enlightening.
Can you go be a madden developer please, they would make the best football game ever if they took all these little details in to play. Have Amari Cooper use that little stutter on that speed cut would be amazing to see, unless you're playing defense lol.
From what I've seen, Peters has made quite a view plays in off coverage. You make some compelling points, but I think for your criticisms to be accurate, you have to look at more games against different players. Cooper's superior route running will give every corner fits at some point in off coverage.
@brettkollman love your videos and I find them very informative. So could name me couple of players (both in the NFL and college) that have great, fluid hips. I find it a little difficult to tell how good a guy's hips are. DBs, wideouts, etc with loose fluid hips
Absolutely love your videos. Probably the only place where I can truly understand the game within the game. Too bad the NFL network shut down NFL Playbook.
I always wondering why did get rid of that show
Nate Drizzle probably because it’s too truthful and lets air out of the narratives they try to push
I can't believe no one has said Khalil mack? I would love too see a mack breakdown how he be destroying tackles lol.
Oh man. I love all of your videos. It's like if one of my own friends wanted to take the time to explain the little intricacies. Keep up the great work!
These videos are amazing and helpful. Thank you for these. I don't know why you don't have more recognition
I can only imagine how great these vids will be once you're able to do this full time...I've watched every video, and you've got something special here for sure. I would LOVE to see you breakdown the Panther's run game the physicality and athleticism involved is crazy...keep up the great work, and good luck!
Derek needs to start feeding Cooper more. Ridiculous.
raiderking69 so does dak
u need to be in charge of the top 100 lists every year. that might actually provide accurate rankings
Daniel Chachanashvili 👽🗑🗑🗑👨👦🌚🏀😬🤔👋🏿👋🏿👋🏿
Moral of the story, Amari Cooper should always be Carr's first read especially when playing against the Chiefs.
Best sports channel on youtube, hands down. Keep up the phenomenal work!
This explains why Keenan Allen was working him so much in the first half of the first game of the year. Thanks for the breakdown.
Great to see you back!!
favorite channel on youtube plz keep these breakdowns commin
This breakdown is awesome man, I learned so much about the nuances of both positions through your evaluations. Thanks so much for this!
Cooper isn't that type of player to demand the ball :( He just keeps quiet and carries on playing
Cooper just had a 210 yard game against the chiefs you called it
Once again, awesome video man. You help me see football in ways I've never realized. Thanks for the great content.
Your videos are always top notch!! Keep it up man
definitely one of the best sports channels on youtube. ya gonna make it big in the business kid
Stopped at 2:11

“They are gonna see a lot each other over the next few years.” Literally one year later both are on different teams in separate divisions.
But same conf... Playoffs?
A video on Olivier Vernon would be really good. I feel like he's had a pretty good preseason and was one of the biggest FA moves
Coming from an Atlanta fan, can you explain why Atlanta's defensive coaching staff kept putting Jalen Collins in press man alignments throughout the postseason, but then have him not get his hands on the receiver? By far my favorite channel

I've learned so much from these video as a wide out in high school I thank you
Patiently waiting for the season to end so you can start uploading your videos again!
your channel has to be one of the best football resources on the tube... would be interested in seeing a breakdown of a really dominant DE, say Watt or Wilkerson.
These video are great, keep up the good work.
Love your videos man. Keep it going!
As a Raiders fan, Derek is scared of the Chiefs front seven. He can't read them yet and they are heavy. Hope he progresses out of that.
Scared is the wrong word bro.
Bryan Small he doesn't even go through his progressions when we play against them...
Great video, excellent analysis. Very interesting to watch.
I'm gonna need to see a Josh Norman breakdown
Why? That would honestly be painful to watch.
Kollman would put his (many) weaknesses on front street and have most Redskins fans extra sour
Yeah, the reason is he had a good season.
You want me to name some players that had good seasons and were All-Pros as a result?
Dashon Goldson, Jairus Byrd, Alterruan Verner, etc.

Luv these videos man I definitely support if u wanna go full time

Brett Kollman, when is a new video coming out? We all really enjoy these and appreciate the work and thought that goes into them
They'll be back soon! I've got new episodes slated to release right after the Super Bowl.
Dope Breakdown. Appreciate the hard work! Raider Nation for Life!
Post more often these videos are great
Great work, as usual.
Good stuff as usual Brett.
Tbh, was a little surprised to hear that Johnson and Peters were your #4 and #5 overall pre-draft prospects.
Would you mind sharing your top 25? Also would love to hear your thoughts on the 2016 as class as well (Ramsey vs Hargreaves etc)
Hope you had Darby in there somewhere! 😎
Willie Taggart i
I don't know how I came across your videos but I'm glad I did lol. How do you know so much about technique and stuff? Where you a former player or you've coached before?
Can you please look at some Vic Beasly tape? I wanna know why all those hurries he gets never translate into sacks.
Lol Vic Beasley is garbage
Cause he's still relatively new to the position, he's playing on a very weak defense, and he's still a bit undersized. Him getting pressure his rookie year is a good sign.
If I was a betting man I'd bet he's in for a big year
+Jimbo Fisher he's not

these videos are a big help
broke that down perfectly!
Can you do a Mariota vs. Winston update? Either way love the videos!
Sammy Watkins gets the same treatment. He constantly beats his man but he doesn't get the ball.
Video are great .... detailed to the max
Thanks Man!
love the analysis, you are really impressive, I just subscribed. take it easy with the swearing though, it really adds nothing to the awesome job you do.
Great video!
Really like your commentary. Nice job.
Derek Carr...WTF! Great stuff as always Bret
Great vid, I'd love to see your thoughts on Dak Prescott's pre-season, I have never seen a rookie qb look so polished(And so much improved from what they looked like in college
).
Nice look at the rookie season matchup. How about this last year? You know, when the Raiders scored like a combined 15 points and Peters was 1st team all-pro??
Great video! How about an inside/middle linebacker?
Great video. Surprised Chiefs still haven't figured out how to properly use Marcus Peters yet. For your next video, can you breakout Dak Prescott's two preseason games to see whether he is legitimately good or just riding on easy preseason games?

great brake down on Patterson!
WIN LOSE OR TIE RAIDERS TILL WE DIE!!!!
Having played corner and receiver against Peter I can attest to his heavy back feet when he back pedals in HS anyways . But he has great acceleration to compensate . Strong too for his size
great work. you have awesome content. can you do jj watt against top lineman?
yeah man you are still the best analyst in the UA-cam game
10:35 Carr had no chance to make that outside throw to the right with Bailey and houston closing in on him. That play hasn't even developed yet. Come on dude.
Lol what carr could have completed that pass. He was just not looking his way.
Great video as always.
Look at Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess, the Vin Towers. At some point this season they will get your attention. Never been a starting WR duo like those two. Panthers passing game is going to surprise people this year.
You're saying there's never been a WR duo like Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess? There's been a lot better...
+Merrick Cassian I think he's referring to the fact that both are 6'5 big bodied recievers. The closest there is to that is to that right now is Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker
+Yaz Obeidallah you mean Vincent Jackson and mike Evans who are both 6'5 I believe
+Harry Douglas I mean V-Jax is past his prime. Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are two big bodied possession recievers that Benjamin and Funchess can hope to emulate
Yaz Obeidallah Marshall and Decker are 6'4 and 6'3 so the better comparison would be the two 6'5 receivers from the Bucs considering that Benjamin and Funchess are 6'5
really good video bro. Hopefully Carr fans can stop blaming Musgrave and start realizing all those missed opportunities.
keenan allen vs peters for after the game! or melv ingram plz, also i wanna say, since i haven't donated anything but plan to in the future, i would like to leave you a decent compliment. And also im sure you get annoyed by constantly having requests, so i hope this offsets it a little.
Your videos are such a treat, as someone who watches footbal as much as he can and plays madden a fair amount, i like to understand things that the nfl doesnt always just lay out for you, ive been getting really into defense for madden and i will admit i dont know much of anything technically, but its coming along. Being a laymen, i become enamored with your videos because you present them in such a way that makes the point or topic you are bringing about become effectively communicated;
but more importantly than being educated, is that i feel as though i am being entertained. I watch highlights on youtube, the occaisional madden video, and Brett Kollmann. Stumbling across this channel feels like hitting gold on you tube. Ofcourse you're not the only one to do this on youtube, but like i said you educate in a manner that becomes entertainment, so i value your content and to end this i would like to give you the title of Ms. Frizz of football, because this is a wild ride on the magic school bus of yours.
p.s. i watch all your videos more than once and recommend you to people in person, my brother and i watched some of your videos while he visited and it was kind of cool showing him. Everytime i see the notification of your new video i literally get wide eyed and say some thing like "ohhhh yea(baby)" and i lock in.
p.s.s. when you end the videos and that drum loop kicks in with your ending words, i always feel like you just drop the mic and walk off... (im hearing the loop now in my head as i click the submit comment button)
do tyrann mathieu
Yesssssss
would be so nice!!!!
0:39 unless he gets traded to the cowboys

***** I hope so too. He had a good game tonight with no drops so that was encouraging.
Love the video like always I'm recommend for next video college who do you think will be best in draft and for hiesmen christaun maccafery or lenneord fourrnet two great running backs or Jason verret vs antonio brown just saying but i love your videos alright
Great videos, any chance on a Jason verett vid? Cornerback for the San Diego Chargers
Could you do navarro bowmen? Loving the videos
love your videos. i guarantee cooper gets a lot more targets this season. he might be my favorite receiver. i'm taking him on all my fantasy teams lol
Wouldn't mind having an offensive lineman featured, or maybe a O-line as a whole. Something a little different from the traditional skill positions.
What about 2016 marcus peters vs amari cooper?
It's funny that you call out the coaching staff with Peters and his lack of press man back in 2015. He works behind the scenes at the NFL Network
Awesome videos! Please do a video on JJ Watt!
Also if you want to see more film of Peters getting beat check out him vs Keenan Allen in week 1 of last season before he got hurt.
Crazy that both these guys have been traded.
He played unbelievable in playoffs
Hey Brett can you do a video on Moritz "The Final Solution" Boehringer?
Peters flips his hips around every time
Travis Rivera yeah but it's not a fluid flip. Very labored change of direction compared to Cooper.
Now Cooper and Peters won't be going against each other twice a year because Peters is now on the Rams.
As a Raider fan that was painful to watch....yikes!
same😧
This is when Hudson was hurt right? which would explain why Carr was antsy.
I seen so many times cooper was open last season for Carr to not look his way. I hope he looks at Coop after a off season of tape! Carr's go to us Crabtree as of now.
yea DC needs to wake up cuz cooper is a beast
Raider Till I die, must say that AC doesn't want to be a Raider, sorry guys, it hurts, but His heart isn't silver nor Black.
Naa he is just humble
Awesome videos. You should do something on Dak Prescott. Keep up the good work.
Great vid! You should do jason verrett the most underrated corner in the NFL
truth
I know this is about cooper vs peters But Damn Carr be missing hella reads and I'm a Raiders fan
Quentin Booker It's a year old, Carr had a great season this year
Leak your draft rankings. Id love too see them
I am a Riaders fan and I was at that game and looking back at it now yeah that does kinda piss me off that Carr missed those reads those probably cost us the game. I cant stand the Chiefs
Langston Walton I enjoy watching the Chiefs sweep the Raiders
I hate you
Gabriel Sanchez I feel you. we had 3 good backs that can pound. run that shit down their throats
how would you rank your top 5 WR's in the league and where does Cooper stand IYO?
this was a really good video and truly breaks down what is really going on. As a Raider fan I would love to see a breakdown like this about Sean Smith and why he was good with the Chiefs and is not so good with the Raiders. your explanation about Marcus Peters being a press corner was very enlightening.
Man you really know football Amari Cooper had 200 yards receiving against the Chiefs this year crazy how you can spot this and exploit this
great video
We need to win in the trenches against them. So damn key.
Since you're a Texans fan, you should do one for will fuller and how good he is doing
