I grew up in a military neighborhood in the mid to late 1970's, and the CB750 was the most popular bike among servicemen at the time. There were dozens of them on my street, and that sweet sound never faded from my memory.
My father was a Honda Motorcycle dealer in Brooklyn in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. He sold thousands of that bike. I remember being 10 years old and ripping the shipping crates apart and laying out the accessories for installation.
I've seen this bike in all it's flavors . People chopped them , bobbed them , drag raced them , put fairings on them and hooked sidecars to them , made them custom ...you name it . But , that is why everyone loved them . The CB 750 was another home run for Honda . PK
Waiting at my bus stop going to school a guy in our town bought the first one from the Honda shop and would turn on to the main drag right in front of us every morning and get on it. We couldn't wait to see it again the next morning. Everyone wanted one. It was so cool. This is a one in a life time find you have here. Congrats on this find and Thanks for the video.
According to The Honda Museum in Japan, the earlier models, including the Sandcast was just called a CB750K there was only ever 136,CB750 KO Which Was a transition model There was using the earlier parts that was left and the newer parts which was going to go on the K1 Basically, just using up The older parts But for some reason in America, they started calling All the Early bikes K0s
When I think of a motorcycle this is what comes to mind, not a chopper or a sport bike that looks like a preying mantis.Boy, she sounds good & love that color..
My father was the owner of one 750's in early 1971, the same color and one of the first bikes arrived in Argentina! I was only 6 years old at this moment but this motorcycle is always on my mind.. Nowdays my father is 83 years old and every Day drives a modest Honda PCX 150 scooter.. Sorry about my basic english.... God Bless America ! Greetings from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 🇺🇸
As an Australian I have admired this bike since the 70s and this one would be without doubt the best example of the model I have ever seen. Thanks for video.
I had one, and I don’t remember mine having a steering dampener under the triple tree, oh what beauty though, sent me back to some wild memories I had on mine
I had a 1975 K1 750 When i was in the Army it was great. Never laid it down keep it stock except for crash bars. Rode it From Ft.Bragg to Southern WV. evey month in the Nice weather season.
Same here! We were riding Yamaha AS1s. Two stroke twins and the cops were riding these…. I remember I was meant to be studying and I could hear all these beautiful bikes having the necks rung….. sweet sweet music to my ears…. The Cars “just what I needed “ and “ best friends girl” all around the same time… loud and analogue🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
What a cool bike. I started off wanting a '79-'80 Honda CBX as my first street bike, but in the last 3 years they've suddenly shot way up in value, so I might have to settle for a CB750, but they too are past their low-price apex. Maybe one day!
Great bike. Since you asked....I don't think that steering damper comes stock on the 750, but that's an added part, not a replaced part. And 69 was the first year of production, not 70. I love my 75 CB750. If you want a reliable vintage bike, buy a Honda CB.
Yes you wrote what I recognised too. This added part was as necessary as new shock absorbers very soon and better tyres. Another problem were the spark plug connectors in rain, the oil pipe when hot and the uncontrolled sidestand in those days (in Germany).
Now that’s a nice bike, that style just keeps getting better and better, wish I still had my 74 750 four, from the 80’s, but I’ll settle with my 2014 cb1100 , although it will probably never get the recognition as the true old ones, it’s close and fun to ride
That is one gorgeous shade of blue. Stunning original vintage Sportbike. The Manic Mechanic, Jeff, really knows his shit, and is a true asset to your company...Jeff has that bike sounding real mean! Just from that sound, You know the bike has power! 😲😁😎
This bike was a game changer when it came out, I was only an 18 year old at the time. A friend of mine has one of these who lives in Greeley Colorado, and he has said that he will probably be buried with this bike.
I saw this bike for the first time in fall 1970 outside my college in Paris. I vowed I would own one. I 've owned four but never a '70. I wish I had money for one like this....
I have a 1970 CB750 I've had for 54yrs but all the so called Honda experts are saying it is not a sandcast but it has been turned into a chopper but he motor is all original
I've had 4-5 CB 750s through the years, actually still have 3 of them, this is the closest to stock I've seen, we turn ours into choppers, this bike is simply Gorgeous, if I had it, it would stay as is, I wouldn't chop this one
@@KaplanCycles Kay...I'll find out for ya..it's in a climate control garage..I'll ask my dad think the gas lines are being changed out at this moment ! Thanks I'll find out
Makes me feel really old, the tyre pressure recommendation. This bike is magnificent but I've often wondered if a bike is to actually be ridden regularly, rather than just admired, would many people prefer to own a K1, with its improved cam chain tensioner and carb throttle slide actuation. Perhaps a few have eschewed total originality for these reasons but kept the original parts safely to one side. I almost bought a K1 many years ago, in 1974 but was lucky I didn't. I worked with the eventual buyer's wife and met him one morning as he dropped her off at work on it, he then telling me that the original owner had hammered it so badly that the crankshaft had been twisted, making accurate timing an impossibility. I felt relief at my then purchase of an used Triumph Trident T150V, whose previous and meticulous owner bought a new one, year on year.
Looks all original to me,sounds really good for original pipes. The first street bike I bought in the mid 80’s was a 72 750-4 k and I owned several afterwards plus built a few choppers from them all from swat meet parts from scratch. I would like to know what high bid is !
Can a guy who has a 1970 K0 750 have Jeff Castine perform the same work?? Or does he only do work for you for these bike you sell? My father bought one brand new in 1970 vin 103XXXX?? We have carb issues, brake issues and clutch sticking issues. It’s never been wrecked and is 95% factory except a 4 to 1 exhaust. Email?
I've been trying to sale mine out right but no luck on that because it's a 1970 it can't be a K0 so only getting low ball offers on it trying to get my fiancee home or it wouldn't be for sale at all and don't have time to auction it so looking for somebody who cares

Those and the fruit colored Mopars. All the Vietnam Vets were coming home with cash and buying these classics. What a time to be alive!
thanks so much markpalme ‼︎

Ive never owned a Sand Cast model but have owned K2's and K3's plus one F2 Single Cam, owned one K3 for 25 years.
1975 15 yrs old my first street bike, 71 Honda 350 four olive green, that Nike was so reliable.
Always loved the sound of the old CBs i was 16 years old with a 1984 honda nighthawk 750. Amazing sounding bike
Had the '83 650 nighthawk, what a great little bike!!🏍👍

Kens a time traveler.
I had a 71' - Red with Gold stripes. Loved it! Ran the wheels off of it.

What a beauty, pure and unaltered and that sound is better than any symphony. Wow
Always love the sound of the cab 750 that rumble my dad had one when I was a kid

My buddies Dad had same bike, same color scheme, in 1970 was fastest, nasty bike for its time💪💪👍👊
I don't believe the steering dampner is stock , although the older Cl77 came with one

In my opinion this is Honda’s Opus. The SOHC CB750 is the best!

Im Februar 1970 kaufte ich mir eine CB 750 neu für 6500 DM. Das war viel Geld damals, aber….es war mir es wert.
