10:29 the string closure as in a TN would fix the "too stuffed" issue here for sure. Also the Krause rings I would switch for easily changeable moterm rings
Yes an elastic closure would have definitely make it easier to adapt to the amount you fill it. For the rings I think a lot of folks really just prefer the quality of Krause. But of course they can always change them out too - just not the backplate - just have to pop off the top part. But definitely would have made it more flexible if they’d used screw style rings.
I clicked so fast! Thanks for testing everything, Shivaun. I'm with you, I wish it had 15mm rings (and that extra room miiiiiight give enough room for the compact planner). I guess I'll stick to sewing my own, it's a lot cheaper anyway 😊
LOL. I'm glad you enjoyed the share. Yes I think 15mm --- maybe 20mm would be ok if this was my EDC planner but the leather wasnt so stiff so there was more wiggle room. But I like the idea of using the passport planner and small rings for the notes/trackers etc. so that you have everything but it's easy to change up and trash pages you don't want to archive. We'll see how I like it using it but I don't anticipate it's going to be my go-to setup. But time will tell. Yours is awesome and definitely better price wise plus you can adjust as you'd like!
@@JustScribble I think this one and mine are metaphorical mirror images of each other. Mine has the passport being the star with the ability to supplement in some rings pages as needed. This one is a rings planner with the ability to supplement in a bit of passport. 🤷♀️
Thanks so much for sharing! This is a beautiful planner. What I would have done differently is that I would have put the zip pocket to the right so that it is out of the way when you want to write in your planner (though that might be my perspective as a leftie) and so that you don’t have to write on potentially bumpy coins (though that might be my perspective as someone from a cash-loving European country). Like you, I’d have preferred 15 mm rings because I find it easier to write on inserts without taking them out when the rings are smaller (though that might be my perspective as a Princess on a Pea who mainly uses her pencil boards taken square as handrests in order to create a flat writing surface 😂).
That all makes perfect sense. I think the zip would have been good on the right - so it was out of the way and you didn't have that full under your writing pages. I expect they didn't do it because they intended that right flap to be a pencil board (which I find odd as I don't think you really need that to write on in this planner - and you don't have one when writing on the left so it's an odd thought process. I agree writing on smaller rings is so much easier. 20mm is ok - but less than 20 is golden! plus how i would use this (if it worked how I wanted it to) I would not need as much space in rings.
I completely understand that. The page size is about the same but you lose space with the rings. That's why I like the Plotter because the rings are so close to the edge and they are smaller holes and rings so they don't bother me to write on. Thanks so much for watching!
The thing that I noticed right away, and then just kept on noticing, was how the left wallet zipper flap didn't flip all the way over to the right side. Does that make sense? I'm probably not explaining it right, but I noticed it right away. Then, when you close the popper, the wallet flap doesn't close flush with the rest of the planner. As you can probably tell, that would drive me crazy and I couldn't put up with that. Way, way back many years ago...before planners were a "thing," I used Filofaxes. I really liked them, and then I tried Franklin Covey. They were nice but just too big and bulky. Then the Erin Condren came along. And on and on... But now I am a real Hobonichi person. I'm trying out the Sterling Ink, but I can already tell it's noy going to replace my Hobos. And I absolutely can't think of any circumstance under which I would use rings again. Yup, for me, Hobo it is. But...I love watching all of your new unboxings so I can keep up with what's out there.
Yes - I know what you are referring to - and I'm pretty sure it's all the stiffner (cardboard) in it. It doesn't lay right on it's own or adjust properly when you close it. I don't know if 1) I roll it it would help or make it worse and 2) it will get better with time. I'm definitely going to check it out and test and share. I'm enjoying playing with rings some in my line-up but they definitely aren't my go-to and won't replace my bound planners. I've used Hobos a lot over the years - they aren't my perfect planner but I use similar from W222 and SI and others...and of course am designing a planner to launch as well. But Hobos are great - just a few things that I don't care for much and since there's other similar options I'm happier in those. But I'm glad you found Hobos and love them! They are great!! And I'm glad you are enjoying my videos - I firmly believe that whether I'm sharing rings, strings or bound you can find inspo so I'm happy to have you here!
I appreciate that! I normally don't like trifolds either - hoped this would allow me to combo pocket rings and passport for a super functional OTG setup. still playing with it so time will tell! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

This is so great!! Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
I would get one and remove the rings. I love that design
That’s a great idea!

Thank you for sharing! I looked into it, but pocket size rings is too little for me, which is odd because I’m in a passport TN right now. 😅
