Haha when I saw chakli I was a bit worried coz most places make it so hard to bite into but saw good old chitale Bandhu and was like ok, these will be good… Ben should try bakharwadi next
This particular brand of chakli is from my hometown and it's the best one imo (I'm obviously biased) and it landed in Ben's hands. I feel like my life is complete 😭😭 Yes you can dip them in tea. Pro tip - if you have some fresh homemade butter (we tend to make it at home in India), dip the chakli in that. It's heavenly
it's supposed to be enjoyed as a crispy snack, and you just perfectly articulated how it's crisp but not break-your-teeth hard; so i don't know why you'd want to dip them in your tea and make it soggy; but hey, go ahead and do so if you want to
I dont get how a sweet dish would go well with a sweet tea. I mean i understand if the tea wasnt sweetened. But like wont the flavor of chai change if you drink it along with a sweet dish?
Yes, you can dip them in tea as they are also a common tea time snack. Also broken chaklis are common bar snacks in most Indian bars.
Yes chakli is our famous chakna in Mumbai bars
For anyone curious, these are NOT sweet. They’re primarily a savory, crunch, sesame kind of treat.
Ben Discovering Worldwide Snacks is the best youtube shorts I've seen.
It's called Muruku here in my place ❤️❤️❤️ !!!!!!!
@Bee Wow..... That's interesting ❤️❤️❤️ !!!!!!!
@@beeeeeeee420what It's also eaten in South Africa ?😮Wow
It's called pulipi in tamil😂
As a Punekar, Chitale💙
Exactly!!! I never thought I'd see a chitale product on sorted! Felt so proud
Haha when I saw chakli I was a bit worried coz most places make it so hard to bite into but saw good old chitale Bandhu and was like ok, these will be good…
Ben should try bakharwadi next
These are my absolute favorite Indian snacks. The whole cumin seeds are so good.
I expected it to be a sweet cookie type thing. Would love to try it! Will have to check out the international treat aisle
It's something like if u eat one, you won't realize u ate the entire box 😅
I'd say try an Indian store in particular. I've never seen it in my regular grocery store international aisle
Ben's been eating so many snacks for shorts he has to undo his top button now lol
Chitale Bandhu from Pune to London😂
Chitale Bandhu is the best! Try the bakarwadi!
Here in South Africa we call it Murkhoo. Love it!!😋
Cool, that’s a South Indian name for the snack too
The difference between murukku (spelling varies) and chakli is the spices used and ratio of rice to chickpea flour. They're both delicious though
FWIW, my Gujarati in-laws here in the US pronounce this more like “chuck’-ry”. And my kids love it.
Yeah, I was like why is there an L in the word!? I've always called it chakri, lol.
My In-laws Also call it "Chuk-ry" too
That's my childhood right there
I love Chakli!!! The whole spices really hit!
This particular brand of chakli is from my hometown and it's the best one imo (I'm obviously biased) and it landed in Ben's hands. I feel like my life is complete 😭😭

These are a favorite! Just the right mix of crunchy-spice-salty.
Best Indian snack
I am here for the Indian snack era!
Chakris (or chaklis as your ones are labelled) are nice, but too dense for my taste. They are par for the course at teatime, though!
Damn that looks good. I'm adding it to the global snack list
You can dip it in tea. But my favourite is to dip it in a fizzy drink like Pepsi, Coke, etc...
Chitale is true love 😘
You should try grater cake(coconut treat with a pink colouring in top) or gizzada(Jamaican coconut tart).
Sounds like Guyana sugar cake
I had a coworker who would make these for potluck parties at work. Very good and never any left over. Big hit!
React to Persian walnut cookies (also have chocolate or coconut filling)
Would love yous to try Gulab Jamun and Jalebi's soo good!
Haha, muruku ,, very interesting snacks in India
My favorite, and so hard to find!
Chakli are a very mundane snacks in India. Didn't expect them to be featured on Sorted over the more exciting stuff.
They go very well with Indian pickles as well.
What?! Chakli and pickle? Like mango pickle? Do you dip them in the pickle!
Yes, it’s a very common combination.
@@sharathchandrabs8347 something new to try! Thanks

Crunchy but easy on the teeth is "munchy" yw ben
its pronounced chuhkree for those curious :) but usually spelt chakri/chakli
No it is actually Chakli (atleast in my part of India). Source: have been eating them since I was 1 (I am an Indian)
@@apricity99 I'm also Indian lol but cool to know they're pronounced differently elsewhere
I think it depends on the language :)
Break it in pieces and put some milk and sugar and eat it like a cereal 🥣
It's so damn good....
Yes pretty much dip most things in a good chai XD
How to say your British without saying your British, Immediate reaction, can I dip them in my tea ?
Sorry if this is totally inappropriate but why is this video in particular giving Ben fire 🔥🔥🔥? We'll never know.
I’ve had. Can break teeth.
Dip em in coffee!!!
Kuthe kuthe gelas chitale........😅
Are you allowed to dip them, yes, but don't let them soak it up, people tend to look at you weird if you do that.
Sees anything yellow, "ooh turmeric" how do yall become "chefs" without knowing anything about spices?
Marathi food
Homemade are better. 😅
DIP THEM IN TEA
gathiya as a regional language
