- Doughnuts,from Umea,Sweden perform live Saturday,June 24th 1995 at a Methodist Church in Chatham,NJ as part of their US tour with Snapcase. Also on the show was Texas Is The Reason, Bloodlet, Ignite,Snapcase and Mouthpiece. This was shot on my RCA VHS camcorder. I recorded three of the shows during the same week in the summer of 1995. Here is part three. Enjoy.

Bio:
The Doughnuts have proven that the girls can rock just as much as the guys. Their style of abrasive hardcore with melodic elements established them as one of the underground's most interesting bands. Although the music of the Doughnuts was labeled "hardcore," with Feel Me Bleed, they added a more melodic approach that broke them out to a larger audience. These five Swedish girls had a progressive sound and message that was a milestone for women in music. They embraced any obvious gender agenda, and instead, they let the intensity of their music and message speak for itself. Their music was an attempt to capsize hatred and turn it into an illusion.

So underrated. Someone needs to do a doc on this classic amazing band.
This is fantastic! I remember falling instantly into fanboy love with Sara Almgren. The smiley one. Even in the band photo inside the “Break The Circle” album the rest of the band has their expected very pensive looks and to the far right is this girl just smiling for the camera. You could just tell how much she loved what she was doing. Friends and I called the number that was in one of their cds and we woke up the drummer and her parents very early in the morning. I wanted to see them live so bad but was never able. I heart you Doughnuts!!!!
That chick in the red is cracking me up, she just grins and smiles the whole time whilst being musically brutal.
Saw them on this tour with Snapcase in Ft Lauderdale and Tampa. There was a stabbing at the Tampa show and everyone had to play half sets and share gear. Hardcore!

Sara's guitar is simply called the "batman guitar" by Bolin instruments, Boise. I don't know where you could find one, but they're out there.
Oh, and the bassist is a total babe.

the swedish government funded intruments to keep the kids from crime and drugs, that's why there are som many swedish bands and why refused destroyed their stuff on stage in permanence, they recieved quick replacement.
