Love the content Matt and well done on maintaining it even during the travel ban! Hopefully we’ll all be on flights again very soon!
Thanks for that. Not run out of content yet but the to-do list is much shorter now than it was 3 months ago!
Thanks for your great travel videos Matt. Just found your channel as I’ve got more interested in avios lately. You do a great job and the level of detail is excellent along with the streetwise tips and tricks - a New Zealand based flyer.
Thanks - your Christmas is almost over in NZ!
Interesting video, Matt. I think we've trodden the same path with the BA Exec Club and TP runs! A couple of quick observations on the video:
I generally book direct with BA if I can, but I also check the same flights on Kayak (or similar). BA have a Best Price Guarantee (BPG) policy where they will give Exec Club members a voucher for TWICE the difference in price if you buy a ticket from them that's on sale at the same time at an online travel agent for a lower price. I've done this 4 or 5 times and it's a simple and quick process to save money! It doesn't really work with complex itineraries, but it does for A to B returns. Other airlines might have similar schemes.
Secondly, if you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you have access to unlimited cloud storage for photos (not video, unfortunately) with Amazon Photos.
Thanks Peter - The Price guarantee is a good shout - never pursued it myself but perhaps I should.... And good tip re Amazon too - although I suspect I will remain a customer of Microsoft, Norton and Google longer than I will Amazon!
Best video ever didn’t know matrix thank you
Thanks! I made a dedicated video about Matrix if you want to go deeper....
@@MattsPlanet I will definitely Gonna check it out, btw I was surprised by the flights org that’s impossible track my flights 😂 slightly easy with stamps from EU since we left and Bretix 😒
awesome stuff
Thanks so much!
Good video Matt will bookmark it so I can refer to it for the sites you mentioned
Thanks Peter. Set a reminder to rewatch this video every morning 😊
Hi Matt, I refer to your vlogs repeatedly for advice and guidance. Thank you again. Fantastic work 👏 👍
Thanks! Fortunately the video ideas are still coming to me...
Good video!
I think most of these are still valid!
Took your tip re a world wide EHIC card, turned up today. Great call. Much appreciated!
I hope you'll never need to use it!
Thanks again Matt. Liked and looking forward to the next inspirational video. Minor feedback point: the subscribe and bell overlay sound is pretty loud, especially for headphone users at the click noise 😉 Great inspirational content, different to others, keep that personal touch and don't go into that commercial rubbish rebranding the channel (apart from a sponsor that's fine!), let's be honest, Paul Lucas eg. did that and although I still watch his content, he and his channel has changed into a more commercial direction on purpose. The reason I watched you in the first place is the personal touch (and not the 'I'll smile into the camera now because it's a great edit for the upcoming video') you are true and make in depth and really educational video's! Non of that UA-camr greed nonsense I guess, and I appreciate you for that. Greetings (again) from The Netherlands.
Dank u wel, meneer. Was planning to swap the second click for a ding on the overlay so I'll turn it down when I do so - thanks! Thanks for the rest of the feedback. I started this because, well I started because I was locked down and it was about the only thing I could do!!! But seriously, I watched a lot of "flight review" videos at the start of lockdown, many of which were excellent, and many of which were not! And I thought I could do "better". I'll try hard to maintain the style I've developed at home when I'm able to get back on a plane... Thanks again.
Wow!!!! You opened things up for us. Thank you. Love this vlog/information 👍
Glad you're getting value out of it. Sticking to a weekly schedule of new videos at 3pm UK time each Sunday - still have some decent video ideas but keen to be able to travel soon as my ideas will run out one day!
@@MattsPlanet we are Kindred spirits 👍😁 I am retired RAF. Love flying and cruising 😍 😎
@@irishinusa1615 Living in the USA? Or is the name a feint to throw people off?
Amazing video, you should have more subscribers
I agree!!!
I’ve been doing a lot of this stuff / sites for years now, amazing to see it all in one place .... and know I’m not the only flying nerd doing all that 😂
You are not alone Errol! You are certainly not alone...
‘’App in the air’’ is a great app to check out
I'll take a look - thanks.
Unfortunately BaSource no longer exists :(
Yeah - I gather there's a story about what happened, although I don't know what it was! Aerolopa.com is where the seating plans landed although I've not seen a replacement for the rest of their data.
I commented yesterday (twice) to thank you for the video and give you some feedback but despite UA-cam telling me my comment had been posted, it simply isn’t there! 🤦🏻♂️
Strong magnetic fields in Santiago? I saw the comment(s) on my phone but they got lost between there and the desktop! Thanks though!
@@MattsPlanet You’re welcome! Might just be worth repeating the very weird difference between the CheckMyTrip app and the TripCase app (which I’ve been using for a few years now to keep all my bookings, such as flights, hotels, car hire, Airbnb and train reservations, together in one place). I added my next 2 trips to both: a July return flight with BA to London and a September return flight to Easter Island with LATAM. CheckMyTrip added the BA flight seamlessly, including my seats, but not the details of my LATAM flights, whereas TripCase was exactly the opposite, adding all of the LATAM details but not the BA minutiae!
P.S. come to think of it, there was an unusual mini storm in Santiago last night!
Odd indeed... Never had an issue with CMT although I tend to stay within the BA world. Easter Island will be fun... Was on the radar when I lived in Sydney but I think the flights meant you had to spend the best part of a week there and that presented a challenge...
