Yeah, I'm beginning to notice that animators have been using Netflix as a way to create and showcase animated shows and series that nowadays wouldn't air on TV due to a lack restrictions that are normally imposed on TV channels (Ex: TV censors and rating systems)
I can tolerate everything except 1 thing... Lack of Variety! Seriously, i will even tolerate having teen titans go in the schedule as long as they would at least add a bunch of other cartoons in it.
Mini taco *Inhales* First off Teen Titans isn't dead because of Teen Titans Go if you read the fucking comics as of lately; which made the team awesome again after the disasterous Nu 52. And even if you go by animation standards, there is still the animated movies which handles more faithful adaptions of TT storylines that the original cartoon failed to capture. Not to mention the new Young Justice season that is coming out within the year. Second, Scooby Doo isn't ruined by Be Cool Scooby Doo. In fact Be Cool is one of the few reboots that are actually good but CN unfortunately have to sabotage it by not airing all of its episodes. And besides, there are WORSE Scooby Doo series that would killed off the franchise (Shaggy & Scooby Get a Clue). So Scooby Doo will live forever. Third, Ben 10 didn't ruin Ben 10. Honestly that reboot was just a mediocre reboot that got good as it continues on. Especially by the finale. And as bad as that show gets, lets not pretend that the previous incarnations of this show have done dumb shit that would have ruined the series forever (seriously Omniverse with its retcons really drag the series down). And finally Powerpuff Girls . . . yeah the reboot ruined it.
BigK13372 well for teen titans, it was dead, but the whole actual revival thing was recent... and the main comment was a month ago. i agree with scooby doo.... like even that mystery inc. one (witch is the one ive seen the most of) isnt that good... this newer one is just even more trash... so i wouldnt say it will live forever, just more like being a zombie forever. and ben 10, it doesn't really do anything offensive other than the style... but even omniverse is better than that garbage.
You know, it's not too late for Cartoon Network to take any of the episodes of "What A Cartoon!" and turn them into actual new TV shows. Take Godfrey & Zeek for an example! Now that's something that I would really love to be turn into a real TV series!! Yes, it would be another comedy show but in all honestly, I think that it would be something that would resonate real well with audiences than what's currently being shown on CN. And besides, I've always loved these two characters ever since I was little. They were indeed real funny and lovable.
I love the powerpuff girls reboot but hate teen titans go. It is sad what's happening to Cartoon Network, but it's something we have to deal with. Great video.
Thank you so much for mentioning the over-saturation of comedy cartoons and lack of action cartoons/variety. Also, I agree that too many CN shows today have the same art style.
the amazing world of gumball and steven universe are what i call "the survivours". These shows are actually amazing and brings something new to the table. The amazing world of gumball likes to mix in loads of cartoon styles and steven universe tries to make objects look like giant threats.
Great analysis, but the only thing that I have a to say is that gumball is multi-media. I think there is like 3d animation, regular drawn animation, stop motion, clay animation, etc... That all go into the show. It had some really nice variety and you can see that a lot of love seems to go into making it. Otherwise wonderful video.
Anyone remember the Johnny test era? When sometime in 2008-2009 Cartoon Network would air nonstop reruns of Johnny test? I guess they couldn’t think of any other good show on at the time ( outside of a few good shows like chowder) so they would just air nothing but Johnny test to cover it up.
0:36 *ahem* bullshit the CN real happened in the 2000s and after that they massively improved and yes they may have started going down hill recently but you're acting like this has been happening since the 2000s and like we didn't get years upon years of amazing shows and improvement from the channel
The old bumpers were kinda one of my favorite things. Cartoon Network always felt like one universe, like all the shows can be completely different but still connected. I adored Cartoon Cartoon Friday for a long time because it had a lot of this which is funny to think about because at first, Cartoon Cartoon Friday made me angry. When I was real little, I remember the old Fridays were done in like a Powerball like style where there was this old guy (at least that's how I remember him) would be the host & a ball would come up with the face of the main character from a cartoon like if Dexter's Lab was next, the ball would have Dexter's face on it. When they announced the change & acted like it was a huge, big deal, I wasn't having any of that because I liked what I was use to but quickly & easily adjusted to the new Cartoon Cartoon Friday & it became my favorite time of the week because of it. If I recall correctly, the first host they ever had was Ustes from Courage the Cowardly Dog, either that or he was the second host but he was early on. The rotating hosts was fun because it was exciting to see who we'd get next. It even held up through the years as it changed with that awesome opening taking us into the studio, I remember seeing Johnny Bravo in that one opening & was surprised because it was far enough into the future to where I thought the network completely forgot about that show. Today, it's sad, like they never really recovered from their biggest blunder with that stupid live action stuff. To me it still feels like yesterday when they just started that & I thought they were officially dead. That's when all television networks were doing stuff that was opposite of what they are like Animal Planet with changing their motto to "surprisingly human" like what the heck? You think people don't like Animal Planet because there's too much animal content? How about Scifi changing to Syfy & then having all these ghost hunting shows? I get it, I like those kinds of shows myself but not on Scifi, that kinda ruins it since it's science fiction, not use science to find out if something is real. I feel like Cartoon Network kinda started this trend but I could be wrong. Although there's some good content on there today & there's some exciting new stuff coming such as Infinity Train, it's still not what it once was & it probably won't ever get back to that glory. I could be wrong & I hope I am but I don't see it recovering from this anytime soon. With that, I hope people watch the hell out of Infinity Train so that it can at least run on for as long as it needs to in order to tell its story.
Honestly yes cn should do more variety, but in my personal belief I think shows like Tom and Jerry ed,edd, and eddy, basically all of our generation cartoons in boomerang bc it was made for old cartoons!!!!
Honestly, I can't really see CN changing too much. With cable viewership declining it's easier to make cheaper, easier to jump into comedies that are guaranteed to make a profit than to make risky plot driven shows. I feel like the future of good animation lies in UA-cam and streaming services where creators that grew up with CN, Nick, and Disney/Disney XD will be more free to produce content that's suitable for all ages, but still entertaining for all.
I think what happened with Cartoon Network is what eventually happens with most TV show networks. It stopped being creative and actually working and took the easy way out.
From a business perspective, CN should dump Toonami again. It's always been a financial sinkhole for them, because they can't make up in DVD & merchandise sales what they pay for the licensing.
The pilots of most of these modern CN shows have a different art style than what it is now today, you can say the same with Fox cartoons for having most of their comedies having static animation. Most of the shows creator's graduated at the same few art colleges, which might influence their styles. As for the reboots the only good one that I can think of if Thunder Cats 2011, which unfortunately was canceled. If you want to look for cartoons with variety, Netflix will suffice.
Honestly even if people like Teen Titans Go they have to realize it has fucked up CN's ideas on what they want for cartoons. Everything needs to be marketable to a point but TTG allows them to put minimal effort for maximum bank.
I get your point of variety, but like you said, it makes them money, it is also the most popular tv show in Cartoon Network which a lot of kids of course will watch
My last few years of watching cable (2015-2018) i just watched like hub and the nick channel where they play FOP and the disney xd channel for phineas and ferb lol
I wish they would go back and finish or keep going with symbiotic Titan like how they did with the final season of samurai Jack something years later. Put a nice bow on it or something.
Turkey Tom As your sheriff of ToonTown USA, I believe Cartoon Network has gotten worse ever since 2007, I believe the worst cartoons of this channel are The Powerpuff Girls from 1998, Codename Kids Next Door, The Grim Adventures Of Billy and Mandy, Evil Con Crane, Out Of Jimmy's Head, Chowder, Star Wars The Clone Wars, Batman The Brave And The Bold, Adventure Time, Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, Regular Show, The Amazing World Of Gumball, Teen Titans Go, Uncle Grandpa, and Clarence.
Did you delete your original comment with my replies? And, most of the reasons you hate these cartoons is that they are rip-offs or "ruined" the franchise, even though the shows that are similar to other shows aren't rip offs but inspired by the other shows. So i agree with you on some shows, like Teen titans go and Uncle Grandpa, but most of the shows you talk about are very good with interesting characters, amazing worlds and cool story lines. I think that your personal opinions are clouding your list. I, and think others, would agree that most of these shows on this list do not deserve to be here
Bobbyjoe HD They do, because most of the time, I don't trust other people who praise other nowadays cartoons. However the only nowadays Cartoon Network cartoons that are good are Sym Bionic Titan, Young Justice, Over The Garden Wall and Be Cool Scooby-Doo. Also I prefer Dexter's Laboratory, Cow And Chicken, I Am Weasel, Ed, Edd N Eddy and Courage The Cowardly Dog. Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends and The Mighty Magiswords aren't perfect but are still getting a positive review. Be I still don't care for the original Teen Titans despite the spin off Teen Titans Go being horrible. I also didn't care for Johnny Bravo that much. Also the reason why I deleted the original comment is because our conversation won't be that well and second, I'm the toughest cartoon reviewer of all time so I can destroy the toughest cartoons in history by using my own reviewing skills, box office performance, Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi products and spending some of my time telling scary stories about the furture of Klasky Csupo's cartoons.
The CN City era was my favorite. It all went downhill after that. Powerpuff Girls was still on and all the good shows were still airing. Johnny Bravo, Scooby-Doo, Dexter’s Lab, Ed Edd n Eddy. And Friday was the ONLY night Adult Swim didn’t air. When they announced that AS would be now be airing on Fridays, my little brother cheered. I was devastated. I was probably 11 or 12 at the time and my brother was like 8 or 9. Adult Swim was one of the first things that ruined Cartoon Network for me. The 2nd thing that ruined CN, was when they started airing LIVE ACTION SHOWS!! The channel is called CARTOON Network!! A place for CARTOONS!! Destroy Build Destroy, Dude What Would Happen?. They called it CN Real. I would change the channel to Disney or food network when those stupid shows came on. The final straw is when they took all of the shows that I liked and were apart of my childhood, and replaced them with garbage like Regular Show, TTG, We Bear Bears, Gumball, Chowder, Flapjack, etc. Boomerang does the same damn thing. At least Boomerang airs old shows in the early hours of the morning. I looked at the channel guide. BTW: I’ve seen a lot of people giving their two cents on somebody else’s opinion. Just stop. Let someone have an opinion. Opinions are like asses: everybody’s got one.
I have a confession to make. I actually like Teen Titans Go. Though, at the same time, I love Gravity Falls, too. I definitely can see why so many people hate TTG.
This is unrelated, but for the hair on your character I think you should fill in the white spots. Its just kinda unpleasing to look at and is simple to fix.
Mighty Magiswords is a blatant character design ripoff of the 90s Slayers anime. But if you strip it down to the basics, it actually DOES have that same art style as everything else.
Just wanted to say I really appreciate your channel and I hope I can support it as long as you continue to make videos! Thank you for your hard work! Also do you take requests? I would love to watch a knd or archer review!
I want my Justice League Action man.. All I do is watch it on On Demand... (which I am grateful for) But If I can EVER see it on the schedule with my own eyes, and then watch it on tv I will be content! :(
Did you know Cartoon Network said no to a good reboot called GKND I hope you know what KNG stands for The pilot looks super epic and is on UA-cam So many times I want old Cartoon Network fans to know it so they can talk about and by the way if you need to know how I know it will be a good reboot is it because the old characters made it The voice acting is the same to

True
With anime
*_NETFLIX ADAPTATION_*
Netflix has a good art style
I can tolerate everything except 1 thing... Lack of Variety! Seriously, i will even tolerate having teen titans go in the schedule as long as they would at least add a bunch of other cartoons in it.
I'm a kid, and I *HATE* Teen titans go,,
@@dylanspillin nah most kids go in iPads nowadays
R.I.P
Powerpuff girls,scooby doo,Ben ten,and finally...TEEN TITANS 😭😭😭
those shows suck

cool stuff. Needs more teen titans go rants tho. TTG Rants = Profit!
Everything you just explained is probably the main reason Cartoon Network's ratings are so down the toilet.
Love your profile picture.
More like festering in the sewers
Awesome video dude,I agreed with everything you said.
you appeared on the video XD
The thing is,
Everyone asks for show to comeback, but they're not aware that its their fault reboots are a thing.

Blaze The Movie Fan Fuck teen titans go.Its frigin the only thing on.
I think the Powerpuff Girls reboot is okay

Blaze The Movie Fan the power puff girls has never been my thing

Agreed but a year later both of these things are cancelled.😢😢😢😢😢 The amount of teen titans go is now at 60 percent of the channel.
What about my homies Mordecai and Rigby?
dude steven universe is a bad show and horrible

Before Turkey Tom went further

I don’t think CN has changed since this Tom posted this 5 years ago
Cartoon Network's best Bumpers were mid 90s-mid 00s. Nickelodeons were in the mid 80s-mid 90s.
True....i wish they went back to what they where showing back then that was my whole childhood
Make an everything wrong with adult swim
I really like this new style! Proud of you
not only is your commentary good, but YOU ANIMATE TOO. subscribed and hope you blow up a ton soon

Hell, at this point, I'll settle for less Teen Titans go
sometimes i always imagine if i was the president, just imagining
it's a shame most of these problems are still around.
I wonder if Cartoon Network knows the possible increase in views their channel will get if they re-run some of their older shows
Does anyone remember chowder
You really need more subs.
dude this stuff is good. If u advertise more you can be getting more 1k views and more on videos! Keep on going! I am subscribed
lindsey maduewesi Advertising on UA-cam is cancer
The scheduling has become very stale. As you said, they have a myriad of shows they can rerun. That's how they did it in the 90's and 2000's.
Good Job on this one Tom :)
The only shows I like now on CN is adventure time, Steven Universe, star vs the forces of evil and the amazing world of gumbal
To be fair mighty magi swords is sorta taken off the Network .The lack of variety is the problem. Also Clarence is getting cancelled
Make video about the problem with Nickelodeon
Video starts and I hear Nujabes.
*No wonder I'm subscribed.*
Uncle grandpa is gone and Clarence is gone .So we bare bears ,Steven universe and okko are the only shows
Oh shit like I thought your channel was cringey but this one is like actually good .... wait I've cringed nm still good
Honestly yes cn should do more variety, but in my personal belief I think shows like Tom and Jerry ed,edd, and eddy, basically all of our generation cartoons in boomerang bc it was made for old cartoons!!!!
i miss the old school Cartoon Network 😞
nice video I am a 90s kid so I can understand that immotion with this channel.............................:)
Turkey Tom I love you you made me cry from nolstagi.
Honestly, I can't really see CN changing too much. Holy shit is that feather. Damn you have good taste
I think what happened with Cartoon Network is what eventually happens with most TV show networks. It stopped being creative and actually working and took the easy way out.
Nowadays action is such a uncommon genre for television, don’t they realize some of the most successful shows they have ever made are action!?
From a business perspective, CN should dump Toonami again. It's always been a financial sinkhole for them, because they can't make up in DVD & merchandise sales what they pay for the licensing.
Holy crap I remember watching this vid when I was 11.
Can you please do the problem with rage videos?
I really hate how the money speaks more but that is the truth.
Steven universe
esc fan projects best cartoon
Soup can harry The ordinator regardless of weather or not you like it it dissmantles tom's arguments it's an action show with a different art style
Its gets ONE TIME SLOT when cartoon network starts that's fucking mean :(
oh god the character slides
Nice video! Love your channel! Let me know if you need any free music for your videos!
CN is so damn cringey, back in my days, it was actually good and funny.
Very good review.
Honestly even if people like Teen Titans Go they have to realize it has fucked up CN's ideas on what they want for cartoons. Everything needs to be marketable to a point but TTG allows them to put minimal effort for maximum bank.
AH! EXTREMELY UNDERRATED GEM IN UA-cam!
Just saw your channel, Insta-Sub :D
YES ! WE NEED BUMPERS !
This is why On demand exists
I get your point of variety, but like you said, it makes them money, it is also the most popular tv show in Cartoon Network which a lot of kids of course will watch
Most young children I know either watch Disney Junior shows or UA-cam.
Song at the beginning?
I don't need to worrie about the schedule because I have a roku and I can get to any show
tbh ur right cartoon network is taking a dark turn

Sheriff Doom I almost agree with some of the show
Robo-Knight YT Thank You, I could have made a list myself.
CN seems to focus on comedies, but literally the only good comedy airing is Gumball.
What music did you use in the video in the start?

Damn I miss regular and and early 2010s
I have a confession to make. I actually like Teen Titans Go. Though, at the same time, I love Gravity Falls, too. I definitely can see why so many people hate TTG.
Unless we have another good cartoon that can beat Teen Titans Go, Cartoon Network will be stuck with their new SpongeBob show until its dead.
Troll protection group, first warning troll
1:15 your wrong, steven universe classifies as an episodic drama
They were gods in making cartoons.
Man I miss the original Samurai Jack.

Did you know Cartoon Network said no to a good reboot called GKND
I hope you know what KNG stands for
The pilot looks super epic and is on UA-cam So many times
I want old Cartoon Network fans to know it so they can talk about
and by the way if you need to know how I know it will be a good reboot is it because the old characters made it
The voice acting is the same to
Agreed with this %100
Cartoon Network did Fortinte dances
Look at the schedule now...
2020
The Year of Cartoon Network.
It may be its best or worst year ever.
I said the worst channel ever!
