I had little knowledge of Kabbalah up to now. I knew it was a form of Jewish mysticism but had no idea it was so multifaceted. As a theologist, I would think the relatable angel is a rather new thing. Today we have children's books about guardian angels, while, as Elliot put it, in the Bible angels are either undercover as humans and are then usually not recognized as such, or people are awe-struck by them. I'm no expert, but from what I know about christianity in the middle ages, I don't see approachable angels there. In fact, God and Jesus in particular became less approachable and people didn't turn to the angels - they turned to the saints. I would wager that the nice angels are modern. Besides: "Time juggling" sounds like something the 10th or 11th Doctor would say. And do, for that matter.

I think that this denominations of Qabbalah seem to come from the Gershom Scholem school of thought. I think I've seen Luria used the Qoph to spell Qabbalah.
The word, in Hebrew, is קבלה, so it is *always* spelled with a "qof" (ק); it is just that when using the Latin alphabet, "k" has been the standard (non-scholastic) Romanization of the letter. The use of "q," especially when discussing Qabbala, has been something that typically was used by Hermetic authors. It should be noted that this isn't a universal rule (especially because there is no official standard for the Romanization of Hebrew), but reflects common trends.
I enjoyed this video a great deal. I don't understand why some people get hung up ont he similarities between angels and demons in the Bible though. I lived in Israel and spoke Hebrew.. In Israel when you go shopping they give you a recite called a Kabalah once you have paid for your goods.

When Cohen talked about angels, it seems like a description of daemons. May be in Greek mysticism influence Jewish?
