I was fortunate to buy a 200 ml of Velvet Exotic Leather for $40 at a fragrance wholesaler they sold it at that ridiculous price jest because it was a returned opened box, also bought Davidoff Leather Blend that same day for $10, another discontinued gem….
I bought two 75ml bottles of Profumo a year ago because of the discontinuation. One for personal use and the other one is still sealed. Paid 80€ each bottle and now I see it already for 200€

If you like hunting down discontinued fragrances, try finding Versace black jeans. Best one they did and very hard to find.

That’s why some collectors and enthusiasts search for vintage 20+ years old frags or even older.
However, some notes like citruses, might not perform well with time, and others (like woody notes) are timeless.
I like Profumo for the drydown with patchouli and incense notes, so I think in 20-25 years it will be wearable for sure

No, Platine Prive smells like previous LHomme Ideal Cologne,which is very creamy almond scent,while Tygar is sharp citrus ambroxan smell. They don't smell alike

Totally disagree EVERY SINGLE SCENT will EVENTUALLY be worth more than what it retailed for… a £5.00 budget scent from the 70’s or 80’s will have value just because of rareness and nostalgia and the fact that now there’s the internet to sell this stuff. Patience is what is needed but buy a scent because you like it not as an investment.

Sometimes, people stick with the fragrances that work for them. Why collect a thousand different fragrances when you can only have a few that really work on you?
