Thank you for showing exactly how this is done, I couldn't find this information anywhere else.
Why isn't the USB key directly on the door handle..?..The car would remain less damaged....Maybe it's better not to lock the KIA at all...😆,,,,.The best thing is to return it to the dealer....😵💫....Such crap.....😂
I know I was too lol
Dont worry. THE CLUB will save your car. ua-cam.com/video/5aMCaM-p0iI/v-deo.html
Like eveyone and they momma know how to.do.this now
how about taking the viral videos down and prosecuting these people for real. they ruining people's lives who depend on their car to go to work and get around. just look at the carnage they leave behind
I totally agree. SMH
nah freedom of speech
How about KIA making them more secure lol
@@brooo6507 if you give someone instructions on how to build a bomb and they use that knowledge for bad, shouldn’t you be held accountable?
@@brooo6507 that makes zero sense. How does freedom of speech have anything to do with the reoccurring theft of Kia’s?
Kia/hyundai doesn't have immobilizer in the ignition. They have not had this in key start cars for decades. It's required in Canada. Why do you think Kia/Hyundai's are cheaper? They left out a basic any theft system that has been around since the mid 90's.
So they wouldn’t be affecting vehicles in Canada ?
This happened to me and it made me so mad they ruined my vehicle
Imagine putting efforts into finding a job rather than continuing “I’m oppressed” and stealing what honest human beings work and pay for. Another example of Tik tok being shit.
i watch these kids documentary. they say "the insurance will pay for your damage". nope they didn't i have to pay for my car rental and the damage was more than insurance would cover.
Yes at the cost passed on to the consumer when it should have been installed in the first place. Just had my vehicle stolen on the 16th of January, and was just told maybe one to three months before I get it back. Backorders on Windows along with steering column
To tell someone dont leave your usb in your car because it could become a key is crazy for me. I would just sell it or give it back to the dealer and get my money glad I don't have a Kia or Hyundai.
Garbage cars...
These kids are doing nothing new, just exploiting a problem that was sort of solved in 1985 in other cars, where it wasn't exactly child's play to smash the ignition off and use a screwdriver or stick to turn the ignition switch. The "smash the ignition" problem was eliminated around 05 when practically all cars came standard with immobilizers (chip keys) but kia didn't do that... So with a poor ignition key assembly this is what you get.
@Tom the problem with Hyundai and Kia is that it's SO easy. 90's Hondas (and other 90's cars) are also a similar target, but they are harder to find and the ignitions are not as weak as a twig.
These are very basic cars... I'm not being biased, it's just how it is. The tools required to steal any other modern car aren't a viral video away, the tools and skills (computer skills and wireless communication skills) are too extensive for random joyriders. These people aren't even picking the ignition locks, (which is a skill that could be used on all 90's cars) they are just smashing them off, showing how weak the ignition lock is. The media makes it seem like only a USB cable is required, but that's not true, that's after the ignition is smashed off. A stick could do the same thing. these cars simply have extremely easy to break ignitions.
If you gave me (or a competent mechanic) an 80's car with no key, it would be harder to get running than a modern kia or Hyundai. The ignitions were very reinforced, (with a steering lock) and the process to bust them out was way longer. Yes you could become a pro at it if you specialized in a car, but it was still much more work most of the time than these Korean cars. .
@@volvo09 Good info thanks. So in one of the demo videos it looks like it's a push button that this hack works on but comments on this video are saying it affects Kia's with non push button, regular keys. What's the truth on which cars are vulnerable, one, the other or both?
@Tom Because those cars are the most common cars in america. They’ll most likely be chopped up and sold, stripped and frankenstein reassembled, or just straight out used as a crime car. Kia’s and hyundai’s are common but not popular, so you could see why stupid teens would want to joyride it and ditch it, rather than actual criminals trying to take your car and you never see it again
Damn right, I’d never own a piece of shit Kia or Hyundai lmao
0:33 this guy acts like if the thieves are not going to have a USB cable in their pockets
Flash drives can also work and are more convenient, it's like having a universal spare key for Kias and Hyundais.
this fool said "Do not leave your usb inside of your car you pretty much giving them an extra key"🤦♀. Sir you do know they can just go to the store or gas station and buy one😞
or just use one of many other facsimiles for a screwdriver
They stole my hyundai with a USB cord 😩 drove and abandoned it . I am just minding my business and this cost me so much money to get it from the pound and still can't find the parts
Proud democratic party voter here complaining about crime.
Buyers in the car market - don’t buy a Hyundai or Kia. Too easy to steal. Noted.
I miss the War on Crime days.
Too bad the theft is so destructive -- broken window and torn open dash -- so even when the "security kits" are available and installed they will continue to do this.
So true because they won't know if the device has been installed or not, insurance company suggested get rid of vehicle after it is repaired. But then the value has decreased because of the risk of it being stolen no-win situation to the consumer at all
@duaneshadd777 or choose to live in a small town and not the city, sure it can happen anywhere but it is less likely to happen in a small town, then in Detroit. have you seen hard-core pawn? or just get a newer car, 2023 a kia forte new is like 22k if you make a decent salary that's like 3 months for me.
So this is probably what they watched to steal my car … thanks for the step by step video
They tried stealing by Kia soul 2012 twice now. First time, they broke the passenger window and ruined the ignition. Had to get it towed. The parts were in bake order so took 4 weeks to get it back. I drove it for like 6 -8 weeks and they tried to steal it. Fortunately again they couldn’t and didn’t ruin the ignition so I was able to insert the key and drive it. But it’s getting ridiculous. Gotta fix the window again . I’m afraid to even park it in the street anymore
Hyundais and kias are targeted 😔 mine supposedly can’t be stolen (push to start) but that hasn’t prevented the windows from getting smashed or steering column being ripped apart.. sucks
If the dealerships cared for their customers they would buy them the club.
Column neck better
Then someone would either spray free-on on the clubs lock and hit it with a hammer, no free-on.. slide the seat all the way back and stomp on the long end, 5-6 stomps broken.. we used to steal cars with clubs and leave the club wheee tha car was..
You get what you pay for
@@krisbarringer1509 We use to cut to the steering wheel with a hacksaw. Under all that padding, thin metal. With a cordless Sawzall, 30 secs probably!
@@rr6202 back in the day we would race, no screw driver, outside of a locked car, using only the seatbelt, on a Chevy celebrity my buddy had the record of 15 seconds, just cuz he was lanky af.. I could do it in 22 flat.. the 90’s were great, these dudes had nothin on us, crash up derby in brand new Cherokee Eddie Bauers, Us in West End Pgh and Trenton NJ went back and forth with most stolen.. They all did Hondas wit) dent pullers, we just had screw drivers and Chevies and Jeeps were pretty much made to be stolen.. smh.
You mean after you informed everyone on how to steal these cars the count went up 🤔 I can't wrap my head around why this would happen 😂
Let's share this lmao 😅😅😅😅
Why does nobody talk about a kill switch? You could do it yourself for $10 and nobody could ever steal your car
CHRISFIX HERE WITH A BRAND NEW
The best prevention is not to buy.
What kinda bum you gotta be to be targeting kias for theft lmao. Hopefully someone who owns a stinger puts you in the dirt over their car.
Yeah that ain’t gonna happen nobody driving a stinger gon do anything 😂
I know it really doesn't make sense thieves targeting a Kia or Hyundai. I guess desperate dumb thieves.
You can take out the ignition and fuel pump fuses, if you don't mind the extra hassle remove the battery when done for the day, thieves are clever but they seldom like to work hard.
Kia and Hyundai needs to issue a recall on their vehicles and install immobilizers where a chipped key is required...Problem Solved!!
They have. All that did was stop them from taking the car. It didn’t stop them from trying so now I have a busted window and ignition. Whole steering wheel column is effed up. Thousands in damage but they didn’t steal it.
Takes 15 seconds to remove a club.
Which model years have this problem?
Wiat wait. Your telling me they still selling base with using a plain steel key? Damn. Never seen that in canada anymore. But even then pushstart cars are getting jacked with high end kits now
Just to get in they push in where you put the key in from the outside and they open the door. They did that to my silverado but they couldn't turn it on with just a USB. Also had a steering wheel lock on so it worked.
The Club or a column lock would have to be used every single time you get out of your car unless it's in your garage for as long as you own it now that this has gone viral - I can imagine the resale values tanking on Kia/Hyundai models that aren't push button start lol.
Until the security kit is available.
even my 2004 hyundai tiburon had PATS system, so it disables fuel pump if it can't read chip inside the key. I wonder how old these stolen vehicles are.
@@ExtremeDiag They've all looked like newer models from what I've seen.
I thought it's the Kia's WITH push button starts that this affects?
@@XFT8 Negative. Turn-key style ignition.
Police: "This is your problem"
The USB does not do anything. The USB just happens to fit on the metal tab to turn to start the car. You can do it with pliers.
I love how people are suing Kia/Hyundai or demanding they fix the car way more than trying to actually enforce car theft laws. Welcome to the US. More freedom for criminals than for law abiding citizens.
My point exactly. Not dealing with the real problem: theft.
I love how they show the steering wheel club on the wrong way they are supposed to be on between the window frame and the door for maximum efficiency otherwise there is enough space for movement and opportunity to remove them
Moral of story. Don’t buy Kia.
When I think Brazil is a fucked up place, I remember Detroit exists.
Just want to get this straight, you just put a charger in and it starts? Either I'm not getting it or I can't believe that's really how it works.
they break the ignition lock, remove it and simply insert a usb cable to the electrical part. I fix cars for a living, i haven't seen one of these yet, but if that's simple to break the lock, this cars should all be recalled. This should not be happening. I own a 13 Accent.
@@tonyduarte1832 oh ok now I get it, for all of us that are ignorant on the subject of ignitions, the news basically just stated that you just put a charger into the USB port, if that were the case the manufacturer should be liable to pay for all of the damages 😂.
Time to ban tik tok in America. This is only the beginning
Not gonna happen, this is America. Nothing happens.
Its freedom of speach 🙂🤷♂️
@@bigkaswrx8115 Is it freedom of speech to show how to break in cars or homes or rapyng ur mom? Lol. Wake up dingleberry
So based on the picture they are just cramming the usb cable into ignition switch?
The dealerships should offer safety kill switches
Use a very heavy chain with a Brinks lock. Tigtly wrap the chain around your ignition neck (close to the gauge area) then back around the break pedal. Make sure of no slack. My dad use to do this back in the 80's
I know this is an old thread but could you please explain in more detail 🙏😂
Thanks yall! I need to go give this a try.
How are they opening the door ? Surly the alarm would go off
Why not go after youtube an tiktok for providing how too info.
I feel like everyone in the comments is missing a point that the world seems to be missing right now: Why are we not regulating TikTok posts/trends?
Why should it be legal to put out messaging on how to commit crimes and literally encouraging people (especially impressionable adolescents) to commit those CRIMES.
These posts have real world consequences and investigators who find out someone committed a crime based on a TikTok trend should find out which video they viewed and take that person to court.
Some people would say: "1st amendment"
Need to regulate all the crazy LGBTQ videos on there brainwashing kids to be trans and shit
Problem is, it's not illegal to do that to one's own vehicle. If caught, they could always say "it was my own vehicle" or "I had the owner's permission".
This is a Kia problem
So instead of dealing with the actual theft problem they're putting it all on the Kia/Hyundai owners to just sue the manufacturer or sell our vehicles 😑
A kill switch to the fuel pump.
My 2013 Hyundai Elantra was stolen two night's ago here in Atlanta GA
Just a shot in the dark here, but maybe news stations shouldn't be sharing the methods by which people are stealing these vehicles. Compounding the problem and inspiring prospective criminals to try it themselves.
What is really stupid here is that everyone is making a big stink about using something so simple as a UBS cable connector which you can get for a dollar at the dollar store. They're trying to trivialize and sensationalize this with hype just to get people to tune in for ratings. The reality is, you could do this with ANY tool, a pair of pliers, a screw driver, etc which most thieves will have with them anyway to break into the car and rip the steering column casing off.
Bait cars loaded with dynamite wired to explode with the turn of a key. That should take care of that.
So glad I decided last second to get the keyless model
A club is pointless because the steering wheel itself is rubber. All they would need to do is slice the steering wheel & the club would slide right off
Another UA-cam creator needs to debunk the KB's instructional videos.
From Milwaukee to Detroit and now St Louis. These thieves are only terrorizing their own communities. Like you ain't hurting rich folk stealing kias and Hyundais. Way to rep your home town.
Those Klubs went up a lot $$$
You could get one of those for song back in the day
I really appreciate you all putting g
this on line got my car stolen think you all should pay for everyone s car that got stolen and charged for grand theft for every single car that has been taken
Don't buy a kia
The USB cable plays no part at all it's not even needed, once the ignition barrel has been forcefully removed you are left with the black box, once turned this will start your car, it just so happens that the USB cable used to charge your phone is the exact fit and chances are 1 will be inside.
Your doors can't be unlocked so forced entry, broken window is needed so lock it up.
This method only works on Kia's and Hyundai's that use a key to start the car, If you have a push button start model your safe and have nothing to fear.
The removal of the keys chip and code reader couldn't justify the savings made.
My shit just got broken into last night and I am so angry!!! I work hard asf to pay that shit!!! They yried to steal my shit!!
KIA, the skittle of cars lol.
Mine was just stolen and I don’t know how they’re going to ride around in the car because it has three car seats in there
Most economical solution, a gun.
You're not allowed to defend your property or your life in American cities anymore! Still, take action...
EASTPOINTE, ROSEVILLE, HARPER WOODS, have all become GHETTO extensions of DETOILET, MI SMH
my 2000 chrysler cirrus had a transponder kia wtf doesnt a 2020 kia/hyundai?
Hope they steal my car ! I can buy food instead.
Dear news stop showin people how to steal
THAAANNNNNK YOUUUU!‼️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Nah fuck dat keep showin we need more ideas
Mine was damaged but failed to steal it 🤬
My kia cranks but doesn't start now what I do
They ain’t got no diddy
Well.. they're black sooo
So we now have to go back in time because of the botched make up of the ignition!? They prolly should’ve thought of this. Hope they all win the suit.
They found a way to steal the push buttons ones too 🙈 it’s even easier
@Jeff Conard No security is impossible to break.
I'll buy Toyota, Honda. Kia? Hyundai? No freaking way. Not ever. Cheap garbage.
I was a kid back in the early 2000s but I remember the club lol did that thing really work ?
a Culture thing
@JxmiJack the summer of Love culture
Criminal mindset in that community.
Cultural just like school shootings
always people with empty profiles boldly typing these racist comments😂
@@STREETRACEN4U u r in denial
Usb cable shortage in stores. I wonder why? 🤔 I
So does that mean they have universal keys ?
What about tracking device's
Sm1 should sue kia!!!!
Now I know they said the cars with push to start aren’t affected by this. My car does have a traditional key. However in order to get it started and going you have to pop the car into neutral, push it down the driveway, and then turn the key to start it. So that would technically be push to start. I love my Hyundai.
Cut the break lines and leave some bait cars out 🤷🏽♂️
Those old red clubs work just fine
You guys really love those cars
The point of stealing is for joy riding??? I guess....
I just traded in my Hyundai Elantra because of this. They attempted to steal my car twice in 3 months. They successfully stole my husband's Sonata.
Liberals.. You know, if you start charging them with a 20-30 run, it would decrease drastically.
thank u for the tutorial!!😂
meanwhile you make the video bigger by reporting it smh
I’m about to steal a Kia from my Neighbor
They are making a favor, by showing the how stupedy of these Engineering mistake
My ex had a club on her Honda, nobody ever even tried
They can cut a club.
Jailenn harvey from Detroit Michigan just posted a car theft he performed this morning it's on his Instagram and UA-cam
Can get that lock off easy
You get what you pay for
2:01 that design copied from Nissan Skyline V37 (Japan model) / Infiniti Q50 (U.S model)
Remember ice bucket challenge, ah simple times
Fine and Prosecute the irresponsible parents of these underaged thugs,,problem solved.
Dont give them $1 key... Bruh
The US auto market demands the lowest possible price this is what results.
It’s mostly black teens doing this kind of stuff.
Those clubs dont work. Theyll saw your steering wheel and take it off
