Literally, Sumi Jo can sing anything & it becomes a wonder, a work of art.
So saying, Bellini wrote this with Sumi Jo in mind - she fits it 100%.
And those runs, the accuracy, the complete control & the sheer beauty of her voice.
And she enjoys it so much thereby giving such perfect entertainment

OMG! i've seen her here in Belgium performing in BOZAR! Since then i fell in love over and over again....
Another wonderful performance. Aopparently, Sumi can sing a wide range of vocals to which she always brings her special magic We, who have never had the good fortune of attending one of her cancerts, should be grateful for the wealth of material available to us on UA-cam. She is a true star who will be remebered for ever !
It was an honor for me to watch this concert live back in 2005, in South Korea. What a splendid performance! Her voice was flawless and she sang this piece graciously. None of the sopranos in our time can get closer to Sumi Jo's musicality and techniques, when it comes to Bel Canto. Long live, the Queen Sumi Jo!
Sumi Jo is without a doubt my favorite soprano. i love her technique, her crystal clear voice, and her delivery of the aria. in my opinion there is no one in comparison. unless you would like to contradict me, give me names of sopranos who are better than Sumi Jo

Marcos Guirado I wouldn't say it's amazing, but well coordinated with the tempo. Bring down the tempo to her own pace(a piacere) is a good decision, any faster than that (as written on score) she might get into vocal troubles (this part is just guessing).

@xgianpatrick She's an artist, and while you are comparing her to other great singers she is a phenomenal actress. She sings because she needs music, not because music needs her. We need more people like that. Her voice makes others appreciate voices like Sumi more, but there is no reason to bash her.

@ViennaWaltz If you read her career on wiki you will find she has sung in many big opera houses. and her voice is not small . you need to find a video of her singing with audio that does her voice justice. watch her sing delibes lakme bell son

Her Italian seems fine to me. She has been living in Italy for nearly her whole adult lives (over 20 years). She thinks like Italian and eats like Italian and lives like Italian.

...you should never doubt the abilities of other singers.. at this level most of these singers can do everything the other can technically, mostly only the color of their voice varries and acting skills choose the arias for them. dont put down someone whose been claimed to play the best elvira ever.
