As the marathon ends, it’s always tough. Feel spoiled getting uploads every day during the holidays, and it can be hard to go back to the usual Wednesday and Saturday morning schedule. Still, thanks for everything, and have a wonderful holiday everyone!

Yellow Dog was also the name of Chevy Chase’s dog in the underrated comedy Funny Farm.

The flood of beautiful memories when you post these. It’s a good escape for my depression. Thank you for what you do.

'94 was an awesome Christmas - got Donkey Kong Country and some cool stuff for my first PC!

Thank you so much for blessing us with so much commercial nostalgia! I was in 6th grade during this time.
1:05 - Pixar sued the developer of the game which resulted in Nintendo having to stop making cartridges for the game after Pixar won the lawsuit. Sad because it's a really fun game (I ended up buying a copy on eBay).
4:20 - This commercial is forever embedded in my head.

I rented the Super Gameboy in Fall of 1994. The first game I ever got to try out on it was Mortal Kombat 2. That image of cropped off driver's license Scorpion still burns in my memory.
1 year later, I did get that for Christmas bundled with the SNES and Super Mario All-Stars(as my 1st SNES was fried during the Summer of 1995 and was left with a Genesis, which I got for Christmas a day after these commercials aired, and a Game Gear that I got for my birthday the following Spring). The games I got with it was Hudson's Adventure Island 1(ported from Adventure Island 2 on NES) and Tetris. Wouldn't end up with a haul of GB games until my birthday around the Spring of 1998.

I actually know someone who worked on both the Lion King and Sega Aladdin video games. For Lion King, Disney insisted the game be much harder, so kids wouldn’t be able to beat it during a weekend rental period. So, any frustration the game brought can be blamed on Disney, as the game was initially much easier.

I actually owned the Lion King game, so this strategy backfires when the kids who actually buy the game or receive it as a Christmas present can’t ever beat the friggin’ thing.

Nintendo’s Uniracers had to be pulled from the shelves after Pixar sued them, as they claimed that the game stole visuals from their short film, Red’s Dream.

Had to text my brother, I wouldn’t have been watching Power Rangers, but growing up in CT this was our local Fox station. *He* might have been watching these live back in the day.

Pop-Tarts Crunch Cereal- I remember this being one of my favorite cereals back in the day. They brought it back in recent years, but it was nowhere near as good as it was back in the 90’s.
    71. Honey Nut Cheerios- I love how this commercial starts out harshly, but it quickly becomes heart warming as it progresses. It really puts someone in a nice mood watching it, especially at Christmastime, I believe.

It's day after Christmas 2023 while it's snowing in Colorado. Going back in time and watching these memories. I was 10 yrs old when this aired.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I got Donkey Kong Country and NBA JAM for Christmas in 1994 and those two games were iconic and I played those so much.

Out of everything you upload, the Fox kids commercials breaks will always be a favorite of mine. Because theyre the era i grew up in. With Power Rangers, Bobby's World, Eek and so on. And reminds me of the days of coming home from school.

The Super Game Boy is the best peripheral Nintendo ever released. Not only could it play Game Boy titles in color and on your TV,but certain games could have features hidden that could only be unlocked on the device like digitized voice samples and improved music.

I thought Eek said to deck the halls with "orphan" children at first I was caught off guard really wondered and concerned where there was going.

The Tick video game was absolutely horrible. I had the SNES version for a day, and couldn’t stand it. I returned it to the store the next day and exchanged it for Final Fantasy III (Final Fantasy VI in Japan), which was like exchanging a tricycle with three broken wheels for a fully loaded Porsche.

What a cool collection of ads.
There is so much creativity and passion on display here, and every ad is truly unique in some way.
Your uploads never get old. It's incredible how these ads can make a great show even better.
BTW, who else here would gladly pay for some sort of streaming service or website that airs old TV shows and cartoons with the original ads? For shows that have been on the air for decades, you would even be able to pick which broadcast you want (for example, being able to pick the Nickelodeon or ABC broadcast of a Muppets special and therefore see the respective ads, bumpers, and promos from that day).
    Thanks for all your work!

Wow, so Disney has been remaking animated movies in live action since 1994? I don't remember that particular remake and the animated version of The Jungle Book was one of my favorite movies as a child.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  8 місяців тому +3

It isn’t really a remake of the animated film the way the more recent remake is. It is more of an adaptation/reinterpretation of the original Rudyard Kipling books.
