I really appreciate the personal details such as the comments on the quality of the head and bearings. Was also wondering, and i know this is basic knowledge, but why does heating the head make it easier to work on? Thanks
Thanks for the feedback. Aluminium expands very quickly and much quicker than the steel bearing outer race. So with heat and the bearing comes out of the Alu casing easier. You can do it 🤷♂️
hi i have a sanli gts 26 strimmer and i am getting a universal gear head for it i have seen two but they are different sizes how do i measure it to get the correct size please
Thanks for showing how to dismantle and grease the cutting head gear box which I have the same type. According to my experience, circular saw is more effective in cutting tall grass, bushes and small branches. With the guard on, I can put an 8 inch circular saw in the cutting head and without the guard, I can put 8, 9 and 10 inch saw blades. With bigger blades, you will need a stronger trimmer. I have 26 cc Black Max trimmer, and it works well with all the saw blades. ua-cam.com/video/HTqeXZ8P-GM/v-deo.htmlsi=6uLymBU39zMXd7tS For safety reason, it is advised to always use a guard but the accident without the guard is very rare. I always use a face shield that we use in covid 19 protection. With a guard on, it is counterproductive, and inefficient. The debris can also entangle in the guard. Instead of trimmer lines, I prefer to use saw blades and can cut both grass and small bushes with branches. Please check the above youtube video about the pros and cons of using a guard. I believe the benefit of using without a guard outweighs the risk.
This was extremely helpful as i wanted to confirm the Head output shaft was captive from behind the bearing as i need to tighten down the head and it will be pulling the shaft outwards but the shaft has that lip behind the bearing so stop it being pulled through. You need heat on the ends of the unit to get the out bearing out but do you have to heat the inner part too for the inner bearing?
Really excellent video - clear, concise and exactly explains how it''s done. Congratulations.
Thanks for great feedback. Keep us posted on how it goes l. You can do it ?
@@YoucandoitwithJules Yes!!!! All done. The main problem was insufficient heating, but eventually the bearings came out easily. Cheers!
@@steveo9942 you can do it

Welcome to the channel and thks for feedback info. You can do it 👍
I’d put some grease in the bottom of the head. I had rebuilt one of these heads myself.. you should re pack the bearings before you reinstall them
Yes that's why it's on the video. You can do it 👍
