I see it has the deep groove alt pulley but is missing the second mounting bracket. They were doubled up to withstand constant visits to 7k-8k rpms. But I do appreciate that it has the factory correct valve covers. Little things like that are not hardly mentioned and constantly overlooked.
One thing here: the carbs shown are not the correct ones for this Dealer Installation setup. The correct carbs are the "cathedral bowl" Holley List 4295 mechanical-secondary carbs (GM Part # 3597895). BTW, Offenhauser made this very same intake manifold with its name on it ... which made me wonder who the actual manufacturer was: Winters or Offy. 🤔
I have a c5 z06 vette with cam, headers intake that runs great but they just aren't responsive like that! Those 302s really are fantastic motors. makes me wonder why everybody uses the new LS motors now a days.
I had one with the correct carbs and linkage but sold it to a guy in Minnesoto. I had a 55 chev at the time and could not bring myself to install it. A very attractive piece if I say so myself
I'd like to find a one piece early vortec style crank that is 3" stroke. Put a couple of big fitech TB'S and stuff some 2.02s in them vortec heads, think of the monster a fella would have under the hood!
That 010 block is the same thing on a 350 the pad behind the alternator will have DZ stamped on it more true way to tell yeah man that’s response the only 302 I ever knew of that exhaust note is very distinct real mean 18436572 same timing of my rain has to operate me 302=the original hemi killer it what took 1st place in Daytona 1965
Jerry Richardson the 68 and 69 302’s used a large journal 3” stroke crank. All 302’s used the 4” bore block so they were either 327 OR 350 blocks. So the 397010 blocks were used for the 302
I'll take one of the "built" versions based off the 350, an original is not to be found. The "crossfire" intakes made in the eighties can be modded to look & perform like the old ones....Those headers are WAY impractical for anything other than a T-Bucket or the like. The drive belt arrangement will have to be re-done, not enough wrap on the WP....it'll throw that belt in due time.
I like the 390 CFM Holley 4 barrels I used one on an International Harvester 501 Cubic Inch Truck engine and on my 488 Cubic Inch BB Chevy Truck engine that works all day long at 2,000 to 3,000 RPM that's all you need..
my 69 sbc has no mounting holes on the heads and I dropped mine in my 32' roadster according to gm the engine with 30/30 cam factory 11;1 comp and twin quad's was capable at 435 to 485hp at 8000rpm,dont know myself I need to get mine dyno tuned still yet and I just broke in the engine at 2000 miles, one thing I know for sure it lites up my narrowed 9in up even crusing at 30mph with stock intake a Rochester carb, fantastic lil chevy engine zora designed and by the wayno smog pumps in 68/69 302's or any other engine back then
That is the correct cross ram. They're rare and I've only seen one other than the one in this video. 202 angle plug heads closed chambers were vailable with accessory holes. Iron American Dream on UA-cam. Share it. Take a ride across the promised land.
The main thing it did was allow the motor to make power past 6200rpm. Race version made around 480hp with open headers, ported heads, factory cam and compression ratio, cross ram and an early transistor ignition. Not sure where that peak power was achieve but it was likely the low 7000-7500 range with that cam profile. Stock the motor made ~355hp. Which lines up with expectations as it was the same hardware aside from the shorter stroke as the L76 365hp 327
Nice job dude I'm not into the hater's it's hard to build an original dz I thought they were small journal but there are a few ways to make a 302 ci motor I can here it rev Nice job
This is not a 302. The number on the block 010 makes this a 350 block. Also it should have 186 casting heads if it were a 1969. 1967 and 1968 would have 462 or more than likely 492x casting heads. This engine isn't even a good fake.
@@jerryrichardson987 The 010 block was used on many, many small blocks in 2-bolt and 4-bolt configuration. Beginning around April-May 1969 the DZ 302 did indeed begin using the 4-bolt version of the 3970010 block.
The 0.10 was the nickle content of the block. They came in .10 and .20. The 0.10 are always better for high performance applications. It has zero to do with the displacement.
My dad has one of these intake manifolds under his bed off of his ex 1969 camaro....cool as shite! Put the og motor in a stock car and went racing....😁
Winters Cross ram intake. Got one myself, getting harder to find. Nice build

DZ 302 is the best sounding Chevy engine ever.....
A 302 sounds different than any other sbc? Only in your head.
Looks and sounds amazing
So much better sounding than modern motors. Nice!

I have an old cross ram on my truck. Had it on for years. Paid $150 for it and then had it polished. They are rare. You don’t see a lot of them.
All that potential RPM with point ignition it sounds really good bro!!!
Side pivot Holley carbs so theres no fuel starvation during wheelies
engine is correct for the owner, no car guy watches this and decides to talk chit and pick it apart.
MIserable people lol.
What is that air injection pump feeding? I don’t see any check valves or AIS rails smog boy. Lol
Keeping the fan belt from falling off.
I have a c5 z06 vette with cam, headers intake that runs great but they just aren't responsive like that! Those 302s really are fantastic motors. makes me wonder why everybody uses the new LS motors now a days.
Sounds like lifters. One used to pull up next to me when I was walking to high school. It reminded me of a sewing machine. 😂
that belt will come off it is not a deep groove for high rpm.
I had one with the correct carbs and linkage but sold it to a guy in Minnesoto. I had a 55 chev at the time and could not bring myself to install it. A very attractive piece if I say so myself
This video is now my favorite video to wake up to.
I'd like that intake on a 377 sbc (destroked 400)
Same here buddy 👍
I'd like to find a one piece early vortec style crank that is 3" stroke. Put a couple of big fitech TB'S and stuff some 2.02s in them vortec heads, think of the monster a fella would have under the hood!
Bet scat makes one.
bs. the chevy 302 dident have any bracket holes in frount of the cylender heads for ac/ps/alt.and thats a fact jack.
why isnt the vacuum advance plugged in? lol
love that intake and carb setup. for sale?
idiot. read a book.
HEADS ARE THE SAME AS SHOWN ,ALL '69 HAD BOLT HOLES, ALL DZ WERE '69
mike m FUCK. Head
The symphony conductor has given
the downbeat. The chevy makes
great music.
🤘🏁🤘
smog pump?!?!?! egads!!!

What does that dyno at ? Real curious
Bad ass what heads and cam you running
What heads Came factory on the DZ302
2.02 intake valves 1.60 exhaust
You gotta love that!😁

whats up with the upper rad hose?
WOW! Thats cool!
Throw that damn air pump back in the trashcan!

Sooo radical those little 302 mini monsters are BAD !!!
I like the 390 CFM Holley 4 barrels I used one on an International Harvester 501 Cubic Inch Truck engine and on my 488 Cubic Inch BB Chevy Truck engine that works all day long at 2,000 to 3,000 RPM that's all you need..
Carbs are wrong

69 high performance engines had smog pumps, including the DZ 302 and L88 427 engines.
wally so loved the sound of my “140 cam, hated adjusting the valves with my crossram on it though.
TOTALCHEVY

My friend had a z with a cross ram just like this factory stock I believe it was a 67 black on black camaro 4 speed
I had of thos intake/ carb set ups 30 years ago. it wasn't worth much then.. $15oo.00 now
how much extra hp did the cross ram add?
The main thing it did was allow the motor to make power past 6200rpm. That driver side head is the right casting mark however it is probably the over the counter 492 head that was available with accessory bolt holes
There is so much wrong with what this guy has done on this but beyond that in 1969 they did have accessory holes in the 194 "Camel hump: heads.
Might want to install the correct fan belt and hook up the vacuum advance, incase you want the engine to run right...
He probably has mechanical advance kit in the distributor!
drop in and BLOW
Completely wrong carbs.
this is not a true dz302
thats wright and im not shure about the soled cam shaft
302 did have a SOLID Cam
thats as true dz 302 as it can get ladies and gents
Nice job dude I'm not into the hater's it's hard to build an original dz I thought they were small journal but there are a few ways to make a 302 ci motor I can here it rev Nice job
69 DZ 302 is large journal but 67-68 are small journal design.
Me and my dad have built a few correct numbers matching DZ302's and a numbers and date matching 67 MO 302 and one waiting to be rebuilt
multicarb horror show!

The blocks were the same.
And they used the 041x heads
@@302vettelife2 iot had to do with where it was cast, nothing else
