I am quite happy with my Boox Note Max. I finally have enough space for my math notes. All the 10.3 inch devices were always too small. I am looking forward to your review :)
@@davidr1431 I have short you can check for a picture. It's less grey and more white than my old Note Air and my new Note Air 4 C. Maybe I can take a picture of it. But yeah, it's definitely not as white as I wanted to have it.
@ Thanks. The contrast still looks good on your short even though the screen is a little grey. I am glad I found your channel. There is a lot there that can help me. I’m still wondering whether to take the plunge and buy this device though.
@@davidr1431 Thanks! You should definitely wait for the MDG review here. I just couldn't wait anymore. For me, the device really fits but it's far from perfect. So definitely wait for that :)

Yes, I was soo happy when he said that as I had the same experience and everything you just detailed here i experienced with rmpp and had to return. the dim light in the day will make it hard to read as well unless you are in well lit setting. Writing is veery good but dedicated reading is frustrating.
Still patiently waiting for my Note Max as well. They must’ve strapped it to the back of a sloth for its trek across the USA. I guess that’s what you get when they only offer “free” shipping.
After much thought and reflection, I ordered the Boox 10.3 yesterday. I would have liked to have the Supernote A5X2, but the price of €780 is too high compared to the Boox. Good luck with your headache.
Regarding the question about reading on an RMPP, I'd add that there is no built in book store so you'd have to side load everything. I actually enjoy reading articles and work-related books (pdfs and epub) on mine but only when I am sitting at my desk where I make notes and highlights. I'd never read in bed with it. Too large.
Yeah, I wish Boox would sometimes hint at what they're working on so people could plan. They just launch things suddenly, some very different from others, and no one knows which models might be upgraded or abandoned.
Hi Vojislav, I'm considering buying a Note Max for remote access to my office PC, mainly for Word, Matlab, Chrome, and Mendeley (4-7 hours/day). Do you think the slower responsiveness of e-ink devices, especially the Note Max, would be acceptable for this kind of extended use?
I would not use such a device for these things. Even browsing through a website is already annoying for me. I only use it to read on news websites and that's it. Otherwise, it's a note taking device and a reader for books (especially PDFs). But everyone is different, maybe you can deal with the slow response rate and the ghosting while using it for other stuff. Definitely wait for the full review from Vojislav.
@@brightsideofmaths Thank you for your input! I understand that the slower responsiveness of e-ink can be a limitation for some. However, I'm primarily concerned about reducing eye strain. I have some light sensitivity, and even though my eyes are healthy, I experience discomfort after prolonged screen time. I'm hoping that using an e-ink device like the Note Max for remote access could alleviate this issue. I've never had an e-ink device, so I'm unsure about the overall user experience. I'm eagerly awaiting Vojislav's full review to make an informed decision.
@@baltgames1 yeah. Kinda wish they would’ve stuck with the same Carta 1200 e-ink tech as the Go 10.3. From the reviews online so far, I fail to see what benefit there is to the new Carta 1300 screen. According to Kitt’s livestream, the screen is not only darker, but the ghosting is also worse even though it claims to have BSR. Hmm.🤔
Expensive though, 70 pounds more than the Boox store, and that’s without the cover and spare nibs. The Boox store price does include VAT and duty, as they’re shipped from a UK warehouse (at least they were when I last ordered from there a year or so ago).
@ yes. You can at least buy accident insurance for £95 which might be a good investment. You also get 30 days to try and return which I understand is not so eat if you buy direct. Also. The euro boox store is “sold out”.
Did have the same problem ; UPS - fast, then UPS/Bring slow with "estimates" beyond whatever before Posten got it slower than slow, also with "estimates" that didn't seem to add up tp anything else than waiting. And to top it all the so called "home delivery" ended up that I had do walk to my post office (post-in-store) to pick it up. Now the reader is in house and some peace have fallen upon me. I hope by now that you have received your parcel and many days of sun & no snow. Huge thanks for the work you do.

Is the reported greyness of the screen noticeable compared to the 10.3 devices you used?

Interesting about the Scribe AI - I have the “old’ device, running 17.2, UK version, and don’t have the AI features.
Yes, as I mentioned it is a region based restriction, and UK is one of the regions where it is restricted.

Why Note Max looks darker than previous models (for example: Tab Ultra, note air 2+ or Tab X)?
Because it uses a completely different screen than those devices.
@@MyDeepGuidebut it also looks darker than the Go 10.3 🧐
