Awww♥️ , Started tearing up such an expressive presentation , The table settings your outfit so exquisite Faye , You’re my kinda Ppl exposing & engaging , promoting lost treasures thru fare price thrifting & the donations from various charities such brilliance “ The Circle Of Life 🎻
This has really cheered me up after a fail day of being unwell being stuck on the sofa; love how passionate you are about your work! ❤ The Chanel vibe outfit looked fabulous for the thrift challenge, can't believe you got those new sandals for $10! The dragonfly pendant was beautiful too. Never worry about being distracted, we love seeing your finds! ❤ TV segment was fabulous - totally nailed the points you rehearsed and looked gorgeous to boot 😊❤ You have the best op shops, as you say great to know you're helping others when you're buying. As you say you get to use your creativity too! The dragon plates were stunning - I love a dry run, it's inspired me! We get a lot of matching sets here where they used to be wedding presents for older people who may have moved into a home for example, but putting them together as you do makes it look more modern 😊 I've donated toys to my local food bank for kids who need them, took lots of inspo from your previous videos, and wrapped them in fabric rather than paper, used an old cartoon pillowcase to make a sack that they could use for toy storage ❤
Awww Debs this is so lovely, I'm really glad i could cheer you up, sorry you are feeling unwell - sending lots of positive healthy vibes your way. Thank you for watching and being so kind, big hugs xx
The dragon book I also found in a thrift store on Vancouver Island….recognized it as soon as you picked it up! I gave it to my granddaughter! This was fun….thanks for taking us along. ❤❤
Oh my gosh, that was fabulous ❤ thank you, Faye, for an amazing video 😊 You have best style advice. I loved all the table settings. You have such an eye for detail. I look forward to your videos. You rock ❤
I wasn't born in the Year of the Dragon, but I'm also obsessed with dragons. Recently picked up some secondhand jeans with embroidered dragons and put a silk dragon print lining in the cashmere jacket I sewed last year. I have an entire tea set like the dragon dishes you picked up. The set was a gift to my grandmother from my grandfather when they were in San Francisco and dating, probably around 1930.
Woaaaaahhhhh this is so cool to hear - I love dragons too - i have a beautiful dragon kimono style robe you would love. That's amazing re the dragon set - how special - do you think the ones I found could be from that era too? They have a 'Japan' stamp on the back, the artwork on them is gorgeous 🐉
@@FayeDe_Lanty I'm not sure when they stopped making these, so it's possible. It is called "Moriage Dragonware" and some pieces date all the way back to the late 1800s. Edit: Just looked it up and here is how you can date your dragonware: 1891-1921: Marked “Nippon” pre-WWII: Design has enamel, dragon wraps around the entire item, not marked “Nippon” 1946-1947: Marked “Made in Occupied Japan” post-WWII: Dragon on only one side of the item. modern souvenir: Poorly made.
@@pamelapeterson2987 Oh wow thank you for taking the time too look this up. I did too and when i typed in 'Moriage Dragonware' my plates came up straight away in google image....but looking at what you have found - my dragons are only on one side and the small plate says 'Japan' in gold on the bottom and the larger plates say Japan but also have a gold crest....so perhaps they are just modern? The dragon artwork is very raised and almost 3D like though 🤔
@@FayeDe_Lanty I am a curious person LOL. With the intricate and raised design that you describe, I doubt yours are modern, cheap pieces. But, anyway, it really doesn't matter as long as we love them, right? That's all that really matters.
The Goodwill in America says they help people with jobs and other resources. I did work for them briefly out of desperation. They pay poverty wages so their employees get government assistance. Their CEO and people on the board take most of the money. In the States, we really have to investigate who we donate to. Old churches with charity shops with gray hairs volunteering truly are transparent and I have seen them give back %100 to the community.
Sorry to hear that about GW - I have seen first hand what TSA does here in Australia and where the money goes, which is why i feel so connected to my work but yes of course always good to ask questions and do your own due diligence. Love a good local church oppie, there's one of them near me run by the TSA and last time i was in there i witnessed a man come in with his clothing stamps, i could see his mood change and confidence boost when he found some nice things to wear, they have free meals and some beautiful community events too. Lots of great ways we can vote with our fashion dollar.
I've been shopping at Salvos Stores Online, throughout Australia for months. The gear I've scooped is phenomenal! Last purchase was a BNWT pair of Calvin Klein jeans for $17.50. Ive already scored all of my winter wardrobe, and Xmas pressies, too.
OMG it's so good isn't it! I have some epic things saved in my favorites/wishlist at the moment and you know about the 50% off color tag every week too yeah? xx

Yes! That’s exactly what I think, people who dislike thrifting never stay in a hotel, or go to a restaurant, or use public transport….😆
RIGHT!!!! x
