I have been using the puma ultra ultimate MG for AG pitches and it’s the best purchase i have made. For me the heel is perfect and the lockdown is decent. Durability is really impressive as well. One of the most underrated boots of the year. 50% off on puma as well. Also for the MG and AG models I would recommend true to size and for the FG variant go half a size down.
Absolutely agree massively underrated. I have a video coming on the carbon compared to the FG compared to the MG too. The non FG options of the Ultra have been fantastic. Totally fair enough that you don't have any heel issues, I think I mentioned in the review that it might just be me on that one, and as for the lockdown, I don't think it's bad, it's absolutely good enough, I just wanted even MORE 😂! Thanks for watching
switched to these back in august to give the promising new generation a chance and can confirm they are great. I went a half size down on the FG model from my vapor size and fits great. One of the most underrated of the year for sure!
If you look at the boot, you notice that the heel isn’t very cup shaped if you know what I mean. Football boots need a anatomical heel shape than this so that the lower part of the heel can sink in/ down/back, and upper part of the heel will still be snug against the Achilles tendon so that it sort of cups ,hugs & snuggles your heel with out additional padding of various thickness and shapes 😅. That way you will get a better overall fit through out the boot.
It's a problem with a lot of takedowns as well, a very stiff and very straight heel which is never very enjoyable. Although in this case I do seem to be the minority
Ah a review of a boot I actually own, very accurate and fair I'd say. (defo half size down too). One thing I don't get though is any heel discomfort at all not even when brand new, I actually went from the Made In Italy Diadora Brasil (which are like slippers level comfort) to these and I've been really surprised how comfy they are, all be it not on the Made In Italy natural leather level obviously
Yeah I think the heel thing might be a me thing. I was thinking it might be so I mentioned that in the review just to be sure. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the review
ive used these a bit, and can confirm that the heel pressure point isnt guaranteed at all. it might very well be an issue with going half-a-size down, but i definitely understand preferring it a bit tighter, especially when its as roomy as these are.
I suspected it might be a preference thing, I wanted to mention it but also say that it could be personal. I think the half size down is absolutely necessary otherwise I'd be swimming in them, but you're right that could be causing the issue. Trying to be as balanced as possible saying that it's there but with that one pointing out it could certainly be a me problem not a boot problem
Unfortunately while I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not the right person to ask about Turf boots, I haven't tried enough of them to say. Generally I've found the New Balance Turf boots look good and the Mizuno and Asics ones get positive reviews. I would maybe ask Halts Boots. He wears more turf than me
For sure. One of the best speed boots on the market at the moment in my opinion. If you want a really genuine speed boot feel these are better than the Mercurial or F50. I don't love the heel, but it might work for you.
I haven't tried them, seen them though, at the moment I'm finding a lot of socks that look like they're all basically the same, crew socks, silicone elements, so they're not really been that interesting to me so I haven't bought them, flair kind of fell into that category, doesn't mean they're not good, just that purely from the website images I wasn't sold on them.
@ ngl after watching ur ranking vids the past few days i thought the exact same thing when i saw them haha i guess ill go for the TF socks since its the cheapest delivery cost for me,thanks!
Have you seen the new upcoming adidas predator being available at some random webshops. Ive seen it available at a hockey store that also sell football boots. Why is this?
I actually haven't seen that. The options are, they could be fakes, but if it's a reputable store probably not. The other option is that they have them in stock for the launch and they're a very small retailer so they've not really understood the embargo so they just put them on sale straight away.
Talking About the sole plates going soft loosing it’s springback and snap .. I believe all boots experience this phenomenon played on artificial surfaces due too the heat caused by friction. It breaks down the inner structure/molecules of the material in the sole plates, especially if worn twice or more with in a 48hour span. I know for a fact that both the glue and the material that the sole plates are made of needs 36h minimum too settle and realign again after a intense training session on artificial grass. I know this for fact since I have been talking to people developing the glue and the materials that are used for our beloved or hated shoes/ boots & sole plates. I feel that the big brands have lost their care and priority for making the extreme ”speed boot” and elite boots into the high performance tools they need to be. 😅 the Nike moto and goal starting out in the beginning was too make average joe feel like and be able too wear the products that the very elites use 😅
So now Puma good boots cycle will be like: Puma Ultra 1.4 which is good af (probably one of the best speed boot ever) then follow up is 2 dissappointments - the Ultra Ultimate generations. Then they redeem themselves with the Ultra 5. We can guest that next 2 generations will be trash 🤣🤣🤣Puma needs to work their game around the keyword - Consistency.
Hahahahaha, you might just be right! If they released less then they'd do better. I'd say they should make this ultra have a 2 year life cycle before they touch it.
@@BootWizard Or maybe they keep the upper (the material, shape) then twist a little bit on the sole plate, maybe give the normal Ultra 5 a touch of carbon fiber magic then it would be hailed as the perfect combination. (Since the Ultra carbon is way too expensive for the benefit it brought)
@@BootWizard Totaly agree with what you shared, Puma is just so hasty. They need to slow down and think throughly before abandoned the good product they already had and chase a new idea that seem unreasonable to mass consumer just because some pro players like them since they have weird foot shape. @@MK-lc9fp I honestly don't even think it's pros, it's just puma thinking they need to release something every 6-12 months to stay relevant instead of just committing to one product and delivering something Great. Part of the social media problem.

It does come frome factory with runners loop
Mine didn't. Just have to add it in, they're not really designed to have it. You just have to work it out yourself.

Ultra ultimate MG or King Ultimate 2.0 if both are available at similar prices?
Personal preference for me is the Ultra.
Asics acros 3 vs these ones? Which would you say are better?

Do you know why the ultimate is wider than the carbon?
The soleplate shape is the main difference, then the way the soleplate is attached to the upper
Still waiting for the video of the take down version of the puma king
It's on the way, you can actually see me doing some extra testing in them on the SR4U pure grip socks video, so it's not far away.
