“Mama didn’t raise no quitter” 😂 I have a hard time frogging projects, too. It sounds like you have a solid plan, and yes - WIPs are allowed in Summer Sock Camp now.
Love your podcasts, I was knitting a sweater on circular bamboo needles, really hard on my hands and didn't slide well, so ordered a new pair of metal ones in that size, much better knitting. So Chang needles, you'll be glad you did.
I can relate to the whole "it's working, but I'm not enjoying it, I should frog it but I'm not sure I want to". I started a pair of socks for my husband and the yarn isn't bringing me joy. I am dreading picking up the sock to work on it. There's nothing wrong with the pattern I'm using and there is nothing wrong with the yarn, but I don't really like the look of it knitted up. It's just not bringing me joy, I really should frog it, but I also don't want the yarn in my stash. I just don't like it, I should frog it. It was yarn I won in a giveaway and I feel an obligation to use it . . . but it's just not bringing me joy.

We can support each other through finding the joy, even in frogging!

Thank you! I did and you're right. :)
