The rivalry between Todd and Powell was so well written. Now, characters are only there to move along the plots. They have no personalities or lives. No interactions with anyone but their latest squeeze.
When she says I love you, Powell. I love you so much, it looks like she's trying to convince herself that that's actually true. It's so painfully obvious to us the viewers, though, who it is she REALLY loves.
She isn't very good at pretending that she knows what she wants. It's much too obvious to anyone who sees her with Todd. It would've been more interesting if Powell had happened to see one of their one on one meetings. Far enough away not to be seen, but close enough to hear. Just something else to add to what's making him lose it.
Todd is so hot . I know blair is hos one true love but than what was Rebecca puppy love ? Interesting that so many changes were made for joey. He was supposed to be gay in the billy Douglas story . Still being 92 the network was nervous to make the town matriarch s son homosexual. Also Rebecca was brought on to be joeys gf but they tested her with todd and sparks flew. Man poor Rebecca a young girl caught between two rapists . Powell going on the rape spree made her take off. I hated in her return trevor st Johns todd stepped over her body like nothing . She was very important to todd
@bjujubee - UGH Rebecca is tricking herself! Come on Rebecca....you know you can't resist the Toddster. If it weren't for those PEOPLE who interrupted . . . . (in 299)
Lol. I swear I think todd was a closeted homosexual who was in love with Todd. My mom at the time watched everyday , she recorded & I'd watch sometimes but I had school sports etc but I saw all the good stuff & in the summers watched everyday. Anyway my mom during the powell takes todd hostage thing was convinced powell was gonna say he was in love with todd. She kept pointing to " the I raped her for u todd " which is creepy af
@bjujubee I have written a soap opera for years and years on end. And two major characters are these "Frenemies" both of them gay males(not lovers but rivals yet best friends when the chips is down, so different yet so alike) there was a scene where they ran into each other at a restaurant(sometimes it'd be months on end before I wrote them in a scene, the usually more "well-mannered one started pointing out former loves(some dead some long gone elsewhere) pt 1
@bjujubee pt 2he pointed out the decent ones(some of him he was parners in crime/lust with the "Diva" of the show some just couldn't stand Henry's high handness(I had a character above Tina in mind for this and some Henry kicked himself really bad coz of his own prde) Henry in turn told Dakka how he vacillated back and forth between two half-brothers(for over 13 years since college days) and Henry was never one to back down from a fight
@bjujubee (pt 3) but then the scene ends(their troubles and rivalry worse in the pass but this was alotgether another big story. rather than keep on fighting, the words they said to each other got to them and left them shaken up that they left the restaurant going their own ways both unsettled not so much because of the rivalry but coz rather at 33 they seen not only their fights and bond as friendship but because of their own husbands, wives children and accomplishments to society.
I have only watched this whole story line because of Reiko Aylesworth because I wanted to see her first acting career. She is PHENOMENAL in this series. Truthfully, I hate Todd Manning. He's manipulative to Rebecca and has no remorse for his actions to anyone he talks to, obviously except Rebecca. All of you who support him and wanted him to be with Rebecca are delusional.
Rebecca says Powell will always be close to her heart...but we all know who is actually in it.

There was always something in Powell’s voice that was like “oh god.. forever? I’m just doing this to get back at Todd”. 🤷🏼♀️

Okay..how did Todd get his mom's old ring if she died when he was young? I mean he just happen to have it?
