- We’re at the halfway stage of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. While we won’t know the verdict of the people till June 4, many “political experts” mostly from the anti-Modi tribe have declared that the NDA is in trouble. That the 2024 Lok Sabha election will be a near repeat of the 2004 Lok Sabha election. In that election, the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA was widely tipped to win comfortably. The NDA was riding on the “India Shining” slogan and a fractured Opposition was not expected to pose a challenge. But in the end, the NDA lost.
The “political experts” say they’re confident because there are “2004-like factors” at play in 2024. First, a lower voter turnout than in 2019. This they say was also true of the 2004 election when fewer electors voted compared to 1999. Second, the existence of ground-level anti-incumbency despite the BJP having denied tickets to a fourth of its sitting MPs. And the absence of any one leader projected against PM Modi, which prevents the election from assuming the character of a presidential-style face-off.

One can ignore the views of the political analysts as that of Suman Raman. He is not a balanced guy. It is an admitted and obvious fact that the voters of 2024 won't accept coalition government any more. Therefore in the absence of any national party against BJP, it is obvious that BJP alone will be able to cross the required number. My guess is that BJP will easily cross 330 seats in 2024. Let's wait few more days.

Let us assume the total voters in a particular constituency in 2019 was 10 lakhs and 60 percent of the people voted it means 6 lakh people voted.
Now in 2024 the total voters is 12 lakhs in the same particular constitution and the voting percentage is 59 percent it means it is 7.08 lakhs.
So when we say the voting percentage has come down actually the total people who voted have really increased.
I doubt whether people also consider this point as well when they say voting percentage has reduced.

The Election Commission cannot as per the law divulge information before the actual count takes place so why all this hype. The reduction in voting percentage is not good for NDA. BJP supporters felt complesent that anyway Modi will become PM and didn't turn up at booths. But INDI supporters were not sure of win and so turned up in huge numbers.
