Vaughn is a goddamn legend. What a gangster to show up after a year off and dominate your first event. Top qualifier and Winner. He would have a very serious shot at winning the championship if he drove every event. The grid is stacked this year.
its insane to see James Deane performing at the level he is while he's obviously not nearly as comfortable in the car as he was the S chassis.
And his first time running anything other than Falkens in his pro career nearly🥵, I Honestly thought this season was going to be nothing more than just a shakedown with the mustang, not to mention he's doing a lot of seat time all over the world, good to keep the tools sharp but the man must be near burnt out
Denofa had a sweet ass entry. Not sure how I feel about the call but I can understand.

It was a really cool entry but he slowed down WAY too much, it would've been epic if he actually pullet it off.
What? Listen, reverse entries are cool and all, but when it forces you to slow down so much it screws your competitor in a tandem, then yeah, the call is going to be against you.

Matt did have a slightly better chase but lead for lead Hurst was perfect. While field wasn't as crisp

@@josteincarlsen2905 all Hurst had to do for the win was go into the door of Field and have a spin (he had the proximity to do so). Instead he chose to let off, interrupt his chase, and somehow the judges punish him with a one more time.... Big lead mistake in that run. Just curious what would happen if it were reversed.
the push for matt continues, he was getting a massive push last year and it's the same this year so far...

Nah i dont think it was robbed. He consistently sacrificed his angle for proximity and cut some lines to catch up

The first Hurst/Field battle should have went to Hurst. If Hurst chose, he could have got into Field's door and incomplete when Field dropped a tire. But he compromise his run, chose not to crash, and used supreme car control to do so. Most any other driver would have crashed into Field, the run would have been incomplete -blame would go to Field, and the chasing car would win. Gotta say, it felt like the judges wanted to give Field an extra chance as to not ruin his championship run...

After that run before judging I literally texted my buddy with “Huge upset, Matt field just got beat by Hurst, let’s see if they judge it correctly”
And when they said “OMT” I absolutely lost it, clear favoritism to give Field another chance to not lose.

I just started watching FD 2 weeks ago, and I've already realized how Field is protected by the judges in alot of these events. I like Matt, but I feel like he's the FD version of Chase Elliot in Nascar... except Matt Field actually seems likeable.😂
In every chase run Forrest does, he runs a better lead line than the guy in the lead. More angle, better line, etc. Then he gets gapped because of it. I love watching him drive, but his style is almost never rewarded in competition
Had real fun and excitement while watching the whole event. Just amazing and nail biting action and a lot of respect between the drivers too. ❤🎉
This top 16 was staaaacked 🔥 Forrest is my favorite, love the BCL wing 👌 But he just couldn't overcome that hp difference with Chris 😭

Just shows that Gittin Jr is the GOAT, Leading his RTR team by example. Amazing....I figured Deane would have just scrapped a win from that, Robbed in a placement.

The judges need to use this trsck correctly and give over trying to make drivers drift really wierd and unatural lines…

@@mikehunt7857 Tbh with Vaughn its not talent. Deane is talent. Vaughn has been running these tracks for 20 years. Its hard work and years of dedication. And Denofa is his own kryptonite at this point. He gets in his own way it seems most of the time.
Tire drop and low angle are one more time worthy if you have a good crossover😂

This is so true. FD have the worst judging in drifting.
A tyre drop in europe is almost a 8-2 in favour of the other driver, maybe a 9-1, 2 tyres dropped is a 10-0 no questions asked

Forsberg was lucky he straighten in the smoke and that most of the judges are blind
big time, Deane was robbed big time… sad to see it
There were a few moments where it felt like they were really trying to shove Forsberg through.

Very controversial judging here, Aasbo should have to win (big respect for Deane, he is a real master of the wheel, but here I think it wasn't his win), or at least OMT. Hurst was also robbed in the first run with Field (I am the single one who noticed that Matt has big crashes -not his fault- every event!?), also Darren Kelly had it against Bluss in the first place. What is going on with this judging? It should be shown for public all the judging scores, deductions and stats -LIVE- , so everybody can see the real scores. Anyway it was a monumental event, with very easy left bracket for some, and very hard right bracket. waaay to easy for VGjr

I'll disagree with you on the aasbo front. Aasbo was shallow and just barely cut a couple corners on his lead while Deane followed the line that aasbo took. Deane had a cleaner lead and aasbo didn't follow the line Deane took quite as well. Omt could be reasonable and I would've been for a omt, but Deane was just the 1% better in the run

Facts. Fields loss but he's a "favorite" so he gets a freebie. Kinda puts a damper on the whole competition when the underdog gets beat on because he's up against the points leader. The sport is so good but these continued calls for those they favor are..... Disheartening.

his chase was not though. he was cutting lines to catch up and never matched deanes angle. It was close but deane's runs were just a tad better

As much as ppl hate on the judges. That was a VERY good observation on the Deane vs Asbo battle. I thought Asbo won but they caught that fatal infraction in His lead run which made it basically unchaseable from that point on. So as far as that battle goes, great job judges.

Honestly the judging alone is one of the reasons why Europe has overshot the US in the drift game *a little bit of cosmetic damage they said😂, the contact knocked out the headlight, now hitting a car with broken traction with that force they reckon has nil effect

Man, FDJ has better judges, bring them to the US. This event judging was insanely bad and inconsistent, ruined the what was supposed to be a fun event.
Also, I know Fields has “privileges” but it’s getting out of hand. It’s crazy to think that an OMT was even considered.

Judges shouldn’t have to explain every call to chat and in person fans as often as they do. They know they’re biased and wrong. Gotta make some changes to get real objective judging instead of every popular American guy in an American car getting the benefit of the doubt….ie: Vaughn, Matt, denofa ETC…

1:30:31 "if Deane was there" what kinda BS is that? Either he was there and Aasbo affected him or he wasn't. Judges need to go and look back at the briefing for the new rules. There should be a clear cause and effect. This same wording was used for other incidents and no effect so no penalty. Should have been a line penalty at most. OMT was the only sane result.

I disagree. There are some great drivers in FD but recently the level in DMEC went trough the roof. Personally I find the level there higher than FD

Completely different business models. We own our content rights and share with the drivers, so this dream of theirs can be done full-time. Redbull has the rights for DMEC and they are the best at what they do. No one should even try to compete with them, but that is why the models are different.
Imagine giving some UA-camr a chance at being on one of the best teams and the 2nd year he comes to you and says “I only wanna do 4 rounds”, I’d be pissed but probably for the best. Of course I’m hyper analyzing the “i’m looking forward to James and Chelsea ripping” part of his speech. 😂😂

This sport is becoming more shambles by the day. How was that a OMT when Matt Clearly dropped both wheels off the track. This judging is absolutely ridiculous and they also know that they pulled that OMT out of their arse! Nothing has changed 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
2 tires is a deduction. Apply our standards and it's not confusing. Use your own and you will be confused.

the same thing happened to denofa last season, but just like deane, they are both good enough to stay in drift while the person behind them is shredding their rear end. weird rule since if theres contact at all by the chase driver, the lead is allowed to "basketball flop" and get the win on a technicality. great events as a whole, just that part of it really bugs me, as does basketball or futbol

this judging has got to be more consistent. frankly it sucks, several times tonight we haven't got a good response. Forsberg didn't even touch the Inner Clip down the hill. so many bad calls, it feels like this is scripted

No, you're not. People who have never done this before, have no idea of the transparency practices or what running events of this size are like tend to say stuff like that. Anyone who is doing it will never say anything like that because they know too much. Doers do. Talkers talk.
