    in the words of the great Bob Ross: "there are no mistakes, just happy accidents"
    I had set up the webcam in about the same spot as the last video, but when I went to start to record I noticed it had somehow fallen or been knocked over... It seemed kind of weird and cool, so I just left it there... glad it worked for you. I'll keep it in mind for the future.

      I know this comment is 8 years old but it's only worsened since. Now asmr is filled with weird licking and random fast sound videos that aren't even tingly, there's no soul in it and it's all so sanitized and streamlined. That being said there are still tons of smaller creators who are keeping the old spirit up, more or less.

    Glad to see you still make random videos, Bill! Came back to this one for some reason, but I remember watching this channel 8 years ago when I was a stressed out kid in school. Graduating college soon, and I’m constantly amazed how quickly life goes. But still a beautiful thing and all the more reason the treasure the moment. You always struck me as a wise person, and you are! Thanks so much for these random rambles and for sharing a part of yourself with us. Cheers!

    Get a pop filter, and you won't ever have to worry about the air hitting the microphone, it will help with your clarity.. You should let me master you audio for you, and it will really pop. I would do it all for free. For the love of asmr, and your voice.

      thanks for the feedback, and the generous offer. But, I am currently in a DIY mindset. I apologize if you find it off-putting, I am trying to improve as I proceed...

    • @lekoman
      @lekoman 9 років тому +39

      It makes me a little grumpy: Too many ASMRtists have fallen into the notion that they need pop shields, expensive microphones, and overproduced audio to make their videos feel "professional" in order to attract viewers... but so much of the quality of an ASMR video that makes it work for lots of us comes from the lack of shimmer and brightness in the audio (I call it "sharp edges"). The things typical professional audio production removes (pops, mouth sounds, clicks, background hum...) are the things that make ASMR videos great. It's why the UnintentionalASMR Reddit is so popular, and it's the reason people don't just go watch Apple's promo videos for their ASMR needs, despite Jony Ive's super chill voice.

    • @llucifear
      @llucifear 9 років тому +12

      +lekoman i completely agree with this
      when you have all of the fancy cameras and microphones and lighting it makes it feel TOO professional to the point where (for me at least) it loses the cozy/tingly aspect of it
      i prefer for things to be a little more impromptu i guess

I suspect it's an entry level kindofa thing from a no frills brand... but, it's better than what I had... I was mostly wanting the interface, as it will allow me to use any good mics going forward... and I plan on doing this for a LONG time :-D

In that time I've been through high school, some jobs. I was evicted, I got dumped twice and I fell inlove with my best friend. And I cant even phantom what you went through, but the idea that knowing that you found this video helpful makes it evident that you are a whole person with a whole life and I will never ever know you. But yeah, reading this thread again put me back in the same vibe as I was when I read it 2 years ago. The feeling to be just a little step in a long, long journey with people whose we can only see the traces being part of it. Trancemaster and Djavan probably won't ever answer, and that'll contribute to this feeling of continuity and nostalgia, and if someday they do that will unite us around this topic even as complete strangers to each other, which in any case I find beautiful. Now, what's provoking this feeling in me, strong enough to make me write an essay at now 1:45am... well it's for sure an interesting topic ! hope you have a good day

    I get ASMR from you, but I think the main reason I've checked your channel off and on is more of the relaxing, chilled vibe the channel has. Can kind of zone out, while listening to a bit of philosophy (even if it is a bit goofy at times: but that's probably why I like it so much.). For experiments on absolute zero, or when particles themselves freeze: we've come close for experiments (but not quite reached it), and for the stillness of it, the entirety of its matter is completely stopped.

    Bill is correct. "Absolute zero" is a "truth" that is impossible to test, like the "uncertainty principle" or "wormholes" or "M theory." At 0 Kelvin, the matter would cease to exist as the atoms fell apart. There are only two ways to freeze something: through convection and radiation. You can use neither to reach 0 Kelvin because A) to convect something that low you would need something that is actually BELOW "absolute zero" to draw the energy from said object's atoms...

    LOL, funny you should ask... I was just complaining about my job to a friend of mine... I have a lousy job at a place that sells retail packing... bags, boxes etc to mostly small retail stores...

    hmm, just to be a math geek for a sec... motion is a change, as in change in distance in ratio to change in time (like mph)... even if it's instantaneous (change in time = 0 , as in calculus), us math geeks tend to see it as a ratio dx/dt or similar...
