- Terrible Lie, a cover of the Nine Inch Nails classic, is the first single from the forthcoming album Project Regeneration Volume 2 and features vocals by Wayne Static. Project Regeneration Vol 2 is a collection of 13 brand-new Static-X songs which contain the final vocal performances & musical compositions of founding vocalist Wayne Static, along with the original Wisconsin Death Trip lineup featuring Tony Campos (bass), Koichi Fukuda (guitars) and Ken Jay (drums). The new album was produced by the band’s current vocalist/guitarist Xer0 and mixed/mastered by long-time collaborator Ulrich Wild and is the 2nd installment of the 2-part release. I remember getting to actually meet Wayne at a show they were doing at a local pub! After waiting awhile with my gf at the time outside the tour bus he finally came out wearing Tera's pajamas and did some shots with us! Such a chill, down to earth dude. Still have an autographed ticket stub!

@@Fireglo I'm not saying you're wrong, but Wayne was battling with substance issues. I've had bandmates with really bad addictions to substances and they hate everyone around them, but usually come around when they get better. I'm not saying he didn't hate them, but if it weren't for drugs, he'd probably have been good friends with the guys to this day. I'm willing to bet if there's an afterlife that he's looking down on them pretty happy.

You hate everyone around you because they try to help, and in the throws of addiction, you don't care about any of that, you just want the stuff. Its a fucked up situation to be an addict.

I just have to say, Static X is my all time favorite band. It was Slipknot for the longest time, but, with all the things Static X are doing to keep Wayne alive through their music, it's just amazing. And their music makes me the happiest. I just love every new song they've put out in the last few years. Keep rocking on guys 🤟
Love both Slipknot and Static-X, but I must admit that Static-X will always be special to me as well. I have been a huge fan of them, especially Wayne.

I can’t believe the band is still going even after Wayne’s passing - even using prerecordings of his vocals. Shows you how much passion the remaining members have for their band.

Damn this cover is amazing, it gave me chills hearing this, the video too must have taken a tonne of effort. How these songs were "lost" is beyond me, thank you Matt Zane, Ulrich Wild, Zero, Tony, Koichi and KenJay for giving me the chance to experience new Static X with Wayne Static. As much it as it is hard to accept that after November 3rd that's it from Wayne, I hope you guys keep Static X going and making new songs and touring so one day I can say I've seen static X live! Thank you all so much.
This will be released a day before Wayne's 58th birthday.
"Lost" is a bit of an exaggeration. They were recorded either for Static or for Wayne's solo project but were simply not finished before his passing or were just not released for one reason or another.
@@jeezycreezy4220 fair enough, I just used lost for simplicity, perhaps unfinished or demos would be have been more appropriate. If I remember correctly this cover song, Dead Souls, Worth Dying For and All These Years were from stuff that could/would have been more for Static X, whereas the vocals from (not sure about the music though)Follow, music for Terminator Oscillator and "Disco Otsego" were based on Wayne's solo material that he never finished.
@@skysomething8100 yeah, it's all a bit of a hodgepoge of Static and solo material that's being released as Static since they're the ones finishing the tracks.
@@skysomething8100 if I recall correctly, the singles they released from the last record were either stuff from the This is War sessions that were left on the cutting floor or unfinished Static-X songs.
Static-X is my favorite band. NIN is my second favorite band….yeah my ears are in heaven right now.

I've always loved this band. Always will. Then in 2014 my connection with this band took another level. 3 days after Wayne's passing, my brother and I were on stage doing a tribute to him when our mom died. That was a crazy end to that year

At this points I'm ready to accept Xer0 as the new vocalist and just new albums from the band. The new material be it finished demos Wayne left behind or new stuff just kicks ass and the band sounds better than ever.
I'm ready as well because this couldn't be good for Xer0, but I like what he and Static X were trying to accomplish. Those of us who really dig Static X will always know and remember Wayne Static. I'm grateful they are still a band!

Yeah I wasn't convinced in the beginning,But after Hearing Otsego Placebo,XerO has shown he has the vocal range (we know who you are,but we will never tell) and I'm interested what he could do with original Static X tracks of his own.

I fucking love what the guys are doing here. I think it's the coolest that they're able to keep the band's legacy alive and drop hot jams that sound like they were pulled through a portal straight out of the early 2000's. It's the closest we can get to time travel and immortality. And all you gotta do is hit play.

I still remember when Wisconsin Death Trip came out I was in High School time does go by fast. I had the opportunity to meet Wayne at my old job. He was so cool and humble felt like I was chillin with my homie while he smoke his cigarette we talked about music etc and he was telling me about his solo project Pighammer and said if you like Static X you will like this album....

I absolutely love that they never changed their style. No matter how old i am or what year we are living in. If i listen to Static-X, i always feel like living in the golden age of the 00's with Need for Speed Underground, Skateboarding and more.
