That was beautiful. The cynic might say, “get back to football,” or, “all this medical treatment isn’t worth it for a kid who’s not getting better.” I think that you could see what it meant to little Will, the man, the human being. It truly MEANT something, even if it was just a small amount. And to those families? Priceless. Little Will passed away, he was just about 7, I believe. People might say it wasn’t an accomplished one. I can assure you, he brought much love and bettered the lives of his family. I can guarantee he wasn’t a waste of space. I’d say he contributed to that young father and mother, made them appreciate the small things in life (like Will), and made them understand the value of compassion. So Will’s life had meaning and it was valuable to some people. To be able to let him have a moment to shine was awesome. In his little life, he probably didn’t get a lot, if any moments to shine. Probably spent his entire life sick and hurting. But today, the people of Iowa made Will feel appreciated. He got to experience a little bit of what the outside world is like (even if just a little) I think that’s something incredible. I’m a Michigan State Graduate, at law school now, and I’m one of the stoic ones who gets things done. But, to see this? That made even me fight back tears in the middle of the law school library. You did make a difference, Will. You made this law student remember to have compassion for others and to let others have a time to shine as well. It’s not all about me, sometimes it’s about caring for your fellow man. R.I.P. Will
From watching this video alone it might seem like a little Will never was able to talk much or run around, because at this moment in time he is pretty dependent on his parents. However I did a little bit of research on my own time and I found out that he actually was running around freely and happily and could talk like a normal five year old kid just a year or two before this. My point being is that Will really was just a normal kid and we can celebrate his life now that he has passed away. But also You can take heart knowing that he’s in a better place now and he can run and talk well again! I know it
I can't wait for the day a child that received the wave gets to give the wave as a player.
I agree. This is obviously special for the kids, but I bet you it makes a lot of Hawkeye fans as a result
Way to go iowa keep them safe and healthy and happy your time and services are deeply appreciated thanks for everything. Joe
Best of luck to Will and his entire support system!!
